- Clips from both interviews. In June 2023, "Sidewalks Entertainment" host Lori Rosales had two separate interviews and asked former "Stargate Universe" actors Brian J. Smith and Robert Carlyle on their thoughts on the fans' push for a "Stargate" revival with the TV characters and would they play their characters (Brian as Matthew Scott and Robert as Nicholas Rush) again if asked.
Both actors are currently starring in two FX television series (exclusively streaming on Hulu): Brian is in the "Class of '09" and Robert in "The Full Monty," a TV series follow-up of the classic film.

SG•U was awesome once it got going and probably the only one that would be green lit these days where we need a bit more depth and less "monster of the week" shows are made. The nature of the cliffhanger makes it perfect for an in-canon, soft reboot of the series.

I’ve watched SG1 front to back maybe 4x and the same with ATLANTIS. But I’ve maybe watched SGU about 10x I thought it was outstanding.
It's amazing how he changes his accent for TV. Not as strong as it is here when he was in Universe and Once Upon a Time. He almost sounds posh in SGU 😅 posh Scottish.
Miriam Margolys said that scottish has a classless sound , but I love him doing it in SGU I could never watch it dubbed in my own language
I would be really disappointed if the Destiny's destiny would just be untold, and just speaking for me,... intelligent patterns in the backround radiation , is the coolest scifi plot EVER ❤ , no scifi story before went to the very edges of the universe.
Begby was a cnt,and continued on to be a bigger one on SGU. Such a great actor,he made us hate him.
It deserves an ending at the very least or in a movie segment, I remember at the time it was axed the reasoning was the lower (cable) viewership, but online streaming was just beginning to become popular, and they hadn't adjusted for this, such a shame as it was a really cool show, I expect Destiny is about to run out of power soon :/

SGU felt like a BSG rip off where every conflict was solved by jumping away. The cliffhanger summed it up for me and felt fitting for how the writers ended most of the side plots. Still I loved the fresh feel and that they did something different. It just never went anywhere.
Don't star wars characters do the same thing? And in other sci fi shows. In SG-1 and Atlantis they jumped away many times. What people don't understand is it works as a drama in universe because of the situation the characters are at. They're no way near home otherwise they'd probably have had more humour. Hard to find humour when you're barely staying alive on a broken ship. It's like a prison until you reach a planet.
Also the plot is the end of the universe so jumping away is not solving the problem , the jumping itself becomes a problem , because the ship has a scedule
