Nice vid!! There is a valuable Kensington Lock slot on the rear corner of the right side panel. This is where you tie down a locking cable (doesn't have to be a Kensington brand lock). You run the cable through a piece of hotel furniture, loop the lock through the end, then slip the lock into the slot on the laptop (projectors, too). A thief could still steal it by breaking the case, but that makes it obvious it's stolen, so it's pawn value is next to nothing. Or a thief could break the furniture; they'll probably look elsewhere. And the fingerprint scanner is just a convenience -- you can still unlock anything with a keyboard password. You're right -- it's a shame fingerprint software doesn't "learn" variants over time, or have a "tolerance" adjustment. Maybe in the next revision . . . ;-)

Abigail LaLaLey - yes, you can take screen shots by using the "prt sc" key (on the top row of keys, to the right of the "insert" key) and then pasting the image into a graphics application (like paint) or you can use the "Snip it" application that's part of the windows operating system.

+Anita Sedillo, as described above, simply press the "prt sc" key on the keyboard, to capture the current screen to the clipboard, then open nearly any other application, try using Paint, PowerPoint or even Word. Create a new document then use the "paste" command (or the ctrl/v keyboard shortcut) and the screen shot should be pasted into your document. If that won't work then use use the "Snip it" program that comes with Windows, which will guide you through the process of capturing a screen.

I love this laptop because you can push 1 button and gain access to everything ( cpu, coller, ram, hdd, cdrom...). That is what all laptops should have. Unfortunately everyone will start to add extra ram and change thermal grease, and laptops will become infinite.

3 options if CD rom does not open 1)Open the latch below and find the connection where the CD rom is held by a pop in and a screw and replace drive.
2) your laptop isn't turned on and in order to open it, it needs to be on otherwise if it remains in a configuration that can be modified the laser can be spun out of control and kill someone hence the warning next to the laser.
3) If you need to open it offline and cannot boot laptop but don't or can't open the latch get a needle and push it through the pinhole cd rom

ExpressCard 54 slot I always thought I could add some crazy attachment like a graphical card but today's standard none have invented or produced at a reasonable price today without it having custom made and then complex patent law or more or less of this version.
Expresscard 54 has only wifi card attachments , some additional usb support attachments but not any graphical interfaces that I know of like for gaming. still. maybe some people need extra usb ports but the docking station also does that. still good to have multiple ways of doing the same thing. great design

Chanye West that is a One ExpressCard/54 slot. I understand there are peripheral devices you can get that plug into this slot. Apparently it is similar to the old PCMCIA cards from back in the day. We don't use this slot in our organization so there was no need to mention it in the video.

Some models do not have keyboard backlight. keyboard backlight is lame though , you get less focus when you have light keyboard

Momin Keen There are two multi-colored labels to the right of the mouse pad that really serve no function. Then to the right of them is a smaller rectangle that is a fingerprint sensor. It's designed so that you can swipe your finger across it instead of using a password to log in. We do not make use of this particular feature so I did not mention it in this video.

***** interesting, I had originally looked through the owners guide and could not find a reference to a SIM card slot. But upon further investigation I found there is one after all. We don't use them here at the DCMO BOCES so there was no need to include it in the video.
