Notice how Caraxes only stirs after Daemon raises his sword, as if he could feel his anger. I thought that was a cool detail landing credence to the idea that there exists a psychic bond between dragons and riders.

This episode was soo good. That moment between rhaenys and Rhaenyra was amazing. I mean the queens who never were going at each other
Gotta say, my favourite scene was the small verbal stand-off between Daemon and Rhaenyra. Specifically Caraxes’ entrance.

@@satlynutz all I can think of is that there’s different breeds of dragons? So they have unique looks, maybe Dany’s came from the same dragon/breed which is why they’re so similar.

@@midgetman4626 no not the design, more so the janky cgi, some shots it is on point and others... for instance the shot where Rhaenyras dragon burns the pyre, from behind the dragon looked so off...

Having read the summary of the book yesterday-

The fact that Mysaria isn't pregnant isn't a change from the book. The book was written by a Maester who got his informations from other Maesters and a jester, so it doesn't contain the absolute truth, it was more likely a subjective version of the truth. So when Daemon says that his soon-to-be wife is pregnant and they believe it (as they would I guess, I think his "one day" line to Rhaenyra in Valyrien was too quite for them to hear and I think very few people actually speak that language) it would be written down as the truth. That's the fascinating thing for people who read the book, we know that subjective report from Maester Gyldayn but now we're about to see what really happend.

the young cast is exceptional, particularly in the roles of rhaenyra and alicent... hope they don't get aged up too soon in the season
Mid-season they will be replaced by older versions of themselves (different actors). Too bad because these young actors are killin' it.
Those are literally the only young people in the entire cast so far

Small nitpick but Viserys and Jaehaerys had the same crown (gold one) but Aegon the Conqueror did not. Aegon's was Valyrian steel with rubies (like Rhaenyras necklace). This becomes important later when the Dance really kicks off.
Very small but cool detail of Rhaenyra and Alicent while they're praying - when they hold hands, you can see they're both wearing very similar rings, but Rhaenyra's is red and Alicent's is green.
Too bad it’s Blacks and Greens & not Reds and Greens or this foreshadow would be perfect

What if "the curse" from the throne because you keep getting cut by it it's like a special form of tetanus that is uncurable by the Masters at time like because of process of how it was made or how many swords or something.. Lol
The Hightowers are in cahoots with the maesters. They maesters never liked the Targaryens (mostly bc of the incest). the Hightowers have very little influence outside of Oldtown and Otto is a second son grasping for power.
Hence the chains like the maesters yeeeee
@@emmadow4880 I'm not familiar with the books, but since he is wearing those chains, could we assume trained as a maester before serving as the Hand?
I'm pretty sure I read that the Hightower's created the maesters and that's why there home base is in old Town.
Rhaenyras father Viserys & his Grandfather wore a different crown than Aegon the Conqueror.
Aegons crown is mentioned as an Iron band with rubies.
The distinction between the two becomes important later on in the Dance of Dragons.

@@djamburere when Aegon is tricked into usurping the throne from his sister, he is forced to use Maegor the Cruels crown as Jahaerys and Viserys crown was rightfully returned to Rhaenyra by a loyal member of the kingsguard

The dragons in the opening credits arent fighting. They're dying. That is the beginning which is Old Valyria during the great doom.
Yeah, the first one is The Doom of Valyria, not Dragonstone.

Seeing some of the things the sea snake has in his collection was pretty cool
Thee first dial on the opening credits isn't Dragonstone - it's Valyria and it depicts the Doom.
Looking at images of Craghas Drahar, he appears to be wearing a damaged "Sons of the Harpy" mask that was reassembled with only one horn. He also appears to have grayscale.
The actor confirmed it is grayscale.
Caraxes so far is my favorite. His long neck and high wail was so cool 😊

I believe the first symbol is Valyria not Dragonstone. The flooding of the blood over it represents the Doom.
Flooding of blood symbolizes that person is deceased.

Mysaria doesn't have to be pregnant. Just remember that the book is written from a Maester's perspective so it is not an direct eyewitness testimonial but a biased retelling from a mix of unreliable "sources" of a very important past event. Remember that the Maesters are from Old Town so in their minds Otto probably looks like a benevolent and wise leader instead of a selfish, power hungry manipulator.

That's not a dragon's skull on Corlys' desk. I believe that's the skull of a fish. Perhaps a dragonfish, which would be very appropriate.

Vasarys is kind of like Prince Doran Martell and Tristan. They were both rulers that tried to do the very best for their people but in turn made them look weak.

Alicent’s dress is blue, which could be a subtle nod to the blue water in the sea.

The clip of the dragons fighting with the house sigils underneath after the blood flows through raynera sigil is these events the dance of dragons. The side on the left represent the houses that side with the greens and the right are the houses that side with the blacks.

I love the dragon design from game of thrones, but it is true they all looked very similar. I am surprised just how different these look, as they are from a single bloodline and subspecies, but they are also dragons, so different rules.

Yeah we don’t know that much about how dragons reproduce. They can reproduce asexually but seems like the offspring can be quite distinct.
But maybe environmental factors( such as proximity to the Volcryn 🤪)can have a huge effect on how a dragon develops.

The intro showing the family tree was cool but like 90% of the TV audience is confused by it
Honestly I didn't even realize the original GOT theme showed the cities in each episode till well into season 2 (thought it showed all the cities every time and tuned it out) 😂 so I can totally see people not getting it till later in the season.
Wanna know something more messed up, the Aemma was never going to die and would have survived childbirth as the child, but Otto made the maesters kill aemma so Otto can get Viserys to marry Alicent and produce a targ Hightower heir

The first image is not about Dragon vs Dragon, it's the Doom of Valyria. The second image is about Aegon's Conquest.
They both represent how truly the Targaryens started to be important to the World right after the Doom happened, because they are the last dragon riders in the world, thus their power comes from "fire and blood".
Also, Viserys dropped Balerion's figure but the model is an older Belarion; now compare the model to the buildings and the mountains. And remember that Balerion was a "kid/baby dragon" when the Doom of Valyria happened. Just to give you a visual of how Balerion even on its heighest point wasn't even a match to what Valyrian's buildings looked like.
It is also believed that Belarion is the biggest KNOWN dragon, and that there could be even bigger ones, before OR after Belarion.
This series is so good!! The Targaryan family really are crazy 💯💯💯💯

Small potatoes, but I think you might have misinterpreted the first dial in the opening sequence. I think it's be depicting the Doom of Valyria with the cracks in the mountain as it gets ready to explode. So the dragons wouldn't be fighting, but maybe frightened or just shown in a chaotic state

Personally I think the Intro is a BIG tease at what will happen to Viserys! I think he will be stabbed or something and fall on his MODEL we saw in the episode. His blood will spill down the streets just like in the intro 🧠😈🩸
