Thanks for mentioning me, you’re so right trial and error is a natural part of the process! It takes teachers years to learn what works for them. I ended up wasting a lot of money too 🤣. Make sure to return that 100 easy lessons if it doesn’t work for you!
You are so welcome! Everything you share is sooo helpful. I felt so much more confident in teaching my child to read because of you! You're right, teachers do take years to find their groove. Snap, I didn't even think to return the book, that's such a great idea!! Thank you, Akeeba 😊
I'm just seeing this now! Thank you so much for the sweet mention! Great advice for choosing curricula, especially the discussion about embracing trial and error. I hope you have a great school year!
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate your content. I’ve learned so much about homeschooling and curricula from your videos. Happy to mention your channel, you’re inspirational!
Loved hearing about your process and what you've learned through your journey so far! And yes, figuring out that you DON'T have to do all the math programs is so freeing!
Please keep updating us about your journey. You just popped up on my feeds and I'm glad I clicked. You've discussed a really important topic. My toddler is still not in school but I'm planning to homeschool in the future. Thanks for sharing other resources 🌼💐❤️
Thank you and I will! This is definitely a topic I wish I would have seen discussed in the beginning of my homeschool journey. I’m glad you found this helpful! 😊
OH MY WORD! This as amazing as always!! I’m 5 months into homeschooling. I’ve switched from so many curriculums and I’m still trying to find what works for us. So far, my goal is to have as much hands on learning for them, so computer curriculums didn’t work for us! The good and the beautiful is what I do right now with my 1st grader. I feel like something is still missing.. so im anxiously preparing next years curriculum choices. I can’t wait to take a closer look into your curriculum choices and to see what the lessons look like!? Would love to have something to compare it to. 🥰
Thank you, I’m so glad you appreciated this video! Yes, I will certainly have those videos coming up! I think I may also add in some shorter videos about things like record keeping and how to make activities for your kids based on concepts from the curriculum they are studying. I have a planning video, homeschool update, and some curriculum videos after that. I hope they will help! And please feel free to continue sharing about your curriculum in the comments or what you are thinking about using. A mama might respond with a suggestion that could change the game for you! 😊👍
Hi, thank you so much for all your suggestions. Same thing is happening with Singapore Maths (Prek) I just realised that my child doesn't have to do the same problem over and over again when I know that he already mastered the concept ! I thought that no we have to do all the exercices so that he won't forget about the concept. I'm glad that I opened my eyes because maths is his favourite subject and he was really starting to get bored during the lesson. Lesson learned for me !!
That’s wonderful mama! Math is her favorite too. 😊 I also just remembered that in high school, my math teachers would pick out specific problems for us to do for homework. It’s a good model to follow! I’m so glad to hear you’re using this approach with your child.
Trial and error is one of the hard parts. Picking curriculum is too but if you have not attended A homeschool conference I highly suggest it. You get to see the curriculum and you also get to speak to representatives and also mingle with other homeschoolers. One more thing they usually have used curriculum which are a fraction of the price.
Oh wow, what a great suggestion, Yvette! Of course, the introvert that I am, I would never have thought of this LOL. Thank you so much! Do you know of any coming up? I'm assuming they have ones by region?
Mamas, I hope you found this helpful! If you are currently homeschooling, what would your list of dos and dont's include?

This hits some key points to think about before next years curriculum selection for us!
Thank you, and I wish you blessings and wisdom for choosing curriculum this year!
This was so awesome and helpful! Thank you for being so transparent and honest

Thank you, Rachel 😊. Isn't it though?! I don't know why I felt sooo guilty about NOT having her do all the problems before.

Finding your style in homeschool is so helpful in the long run! 👏👏 Love that you talk this out!
IKR?! Once I figured that out, it was easier for me to decide on what might work.

It's so hard when your are first starting out to not buy all the things! It's still hard for me to not buy all the things. 😅
😂 Seriously though...especially at the start of a new school year, or just gearing up for it the summer before LOL.
