It’s my understanding that it never came out on DVD and you can’t find much of it on RUclips or anywhere else on the net. If you figure out a solution to that, please let us all know.
@vincentmartin7015 Actually, that's not true. I have the complete series on dvd. I purchased a couple of the seasons on eBay and Amazon a few years ago. And the rest of the seasons were gifts from friends.
Thanks so much for the update on this wonderful cast! Loved them all. They truly felt like friends of the family after awhile. SO sorry they dropped the idea of bringing it back in 2020. Wish they’d reconsider.
I've never seen a series with so many incredibly talented and versatile from the entire cast. Wonderful series which helped me deal with my own divorce by some of the episodes I've watched. I hate when the series ended.
Me too! I had just had my first baby at 25 yo. I’ve never forgotten and I often quote Michael (before he & Hope had kids) upon being invited to Elliot & Nancy’s house: “Everything is always sticky over there “. 😂 I had four kids in total and I could sympathize with the sticky comment. Bottles, juice, PB&J …always trying to wipe surfaces down.
I truly love and appreciate this channel. It's our escape to better times. Time travel of the best kind. I hate for the videos to end.. 😂 thanks for your work and effort in putting them together.
I still remember the verse used as the wedding speech from Anne Morrow Lindberghs small book A Gift From the Sea. The only real security is not in owning or possessing, not in demanding or expecting, not in hoping, even. Security in a relationship lies neither in looking back to what it was, nor forward to what it might be, but living in the present and accepting it as it is now.
I wouldn’t mind a reboot of this show. If, and only if, they could get the original cast and writers to return. Call the new show 30/60 or sixty something? A reboot has potential if done right.
I so clearly remember the very first time I saw Thirty something - it was a SHOCKINGLY accurate portrayal of exactly how narcissistic yuppies were living their lives in the late 1980s!
I saw Patricia Wettig (sp) at Vassar College years ago. She was directing a summer program there and my friend and I had come to the same restaurant after playing tennis on campus. She was with several students-holding court as it were. I wanted to go over and say "hi" but did not want to interrupt. She seemed so enthusiastic and the kids were hanging on her every word. I bet she was a good teacher.
What about the kid who played Ethan? He always got on my nerves. Otherwise, I loved the show and remember it fondly. It was sort of like the TV version of "The Big Chill".
I was in my thirties with two babies and set my art career aside to raise them. No regrets. I remember being so excited to watch this show. It was great. Are they rerunning it on Netflix or is that a rumor?
I never watched the show. Although I did see the actors in other movies. When I think of Timothy Busfield's acting I think of him in the movie "Field Of Dreams." Particularly where he walks past a pitched fast ball. Wonder how many takes it took to get that shot right!
I remember loving the show and I always wondered what happened to Olin. Glad to hear some of them went on to do directing and producing as well as some acting. Makes sense now knowing they have been directing This Is Us and/ or other shows
Like so many others that have commented hear this is a show that has stayed with me through half my life. I was in my early 30s when the show came out and I've never stopped thinking about it. I lived in Pasadena at the time and Peter Horton used to work out at the Nautilus gym in town and on occasion, I walked by and saw him in there! It was just a cast of incredibly talented actors with Smart scripts that captured an amazing time in many of our lives. I really wish they had done the reboot.
I loved Ken Olin in "EZ Streets"! That's where I first became aware of Joe Pantoliano (as Jimmy Murtha)...wow!! As always, they soon cancelled the series, and the last episode never aired in this country. The first episode was incredible, setting the mood for what was to follow, and the use of Loreena McKennitt's music throughout the series was perfection! ❤
So sad that both the mothers struggled with wanting a career instead. Who the heck wants to be shackled to a desk and "have to please the customer" tasks all day? It's called "work" for a reason. Back then we lost the sanctity, purpose, and high status of the HIGHEST career for woman to have i.e. to be a mother...whether physical or spiritual. Bringing into the world a unique immortal soul and forming it into a virtuous and decent person who will shine light in this world and the next is a tremendous gift. God bless~
This subject matter is why I loved this show! Educated women choosing to stay home with their children without being rich. Sacrifice for the very good of their children. Great role models for me. I don't regret staying home with my 3 children for 27 years (working part time) the time flies and I'm blessed that i was able to immerse myself in motherhood. 💕
@@melissakokay3176 I agree with your sentiments i.e. sacrificing for the good of their children which all mothers should do. But they portrayed them as wanting careers instead and kind of himming and hawwing about staying at home. God bless you for staying at home...ALL mothers should (if they are financially able to). My point was that we have lost the idea of the infinite blessing and honor it is to be a wife and mother. We need to get that back:+) God bless~
I don't think it portrayed them as wanting a career instead, or they would have done that. I believe it showed the struggle most mothers go through wanting to contribute some finances and using their education and wanting to care for their children which they showed how these mothers did just that. Again, they were role models for me to also juggle, use my education, contribute, keep stimulated and enjoy and take care of my children. I have the entire series on DVD and watch it about twice per year. God Bless you too. @@MMC-jp1gl
I was younger than the characters on this show and all I ever wanted to be was a mom. I was studying at the time and I remember watching these women struggling with a life I thought they were so blessed and lucky to have, wishing it was me. I’ve had a difficult journey to motherhood but now have two children and it’s been everything I’ve ever dreamed of. I don’t get much respect from society as a stay at home mom but it’s been everything to me. I love 30 something, so beautifully crafted and nostalgic, thank you for this update.
STUDIO 60 ON THE SUNSET STRIP was utterly brilliant. It was very much of its time and one of Aaron Sorkin's best. Also, it tied up well, with no loose ends. Also starred Matthew Perry. Sooooo worth finding.
I love this show - but it’s strange to know that Ken Olin and Patricia Wettig were married (and still are). I also loved L.A. Doctors. No mention of Tim’s role in Field of Dreams?
I really enjoyed the show and it was just getting good when it ended I was in my late 20s and And was looking forward to the next season and then it was canceled
I’ve seen many actors I swore were Ken Olen. Some how these characters were real in some way. Maybe it was just a timing issue in my own experience. Thanks.
I absolutely loved this show!
Wish they would show every series again.
Yes! Me too
Me too. Ended way too soon!!
Me to. Bring back reruns
Me too
One of the best shows ever! I'm going to start rewatching it.

ESP since many of the boomers grew up with them!
I Would have loved a reunion. This was my favorite show back then. But really disliked Hope.
@@maurawhelan3530 Gen X, not boomers. LOL
Super talented cast …. both on and behind the cameras!
I've never seen a series with so many incredibly talented and versatile from the entire cast. Wonderful series which helped me deal with my own divorce by some of the episodes I've watched. I hate when the series ended.
I adored this series. The casting was terrific.
So bummed the network reneged on the 2020 planned return.
Big mistake --huge!
A wonderful show! All the actors were superb. Television doesn’t have these type of dramas anymore, such a shame.
I was still in my 20s when this aired, but was home with a baby. This was my sanity show.
Mine 2 used to love this show..
Me too! I had just had my first baby at 25 yo. I’ve never forgotten and I often quote Michael (before he & Hope had kids) upon being invited to Elliot & Nancy’s house: “Everything is always sticky over there “. 😂

I was exactly the same. My husband hated it, we divorced soon after 😄
I was thirty something when this show aired loved it
I loved this show! I never missed an episode.
Great show one of my favorite’s
I was thirty something when I watched and loved this show!
Me too which was why it was so interesting and relatable!
me, too. now 70 something
Thanks for the update Loved this show and actors I am glad they are doing well 😀
This was my version of “Friends”…loved all these characters.
I truly love and appreciate this channel. It's our escape to better times. Time travel of the best kind. I hate for the videos to end.. 😂 thanks for your work and effort in putting them together.
Too true with the world falling apart!
My favorite show of all time. So good.
This was one of my favorites to watch
This show was in my top 5 of all time favorite tv shows!
I still remember the verse used as the wedding speech from Anne Morrow Lindberghs small book A Gift From the Sea.

Great wonderful idea! I'm in my late 60's & I so loved "30 something". 😊
I loved this show so much. it was ahead of its time!
My mom watched it religiously. She got me hooked. Great topics lately my friend 😊
I didn't watch it until reruns and then I became obsessed. They do not make shows like this anymore.
No they don't.
This Is Us is directed by Ken Olin and it was just as good if not better!
I still haven't gotten over the fact they killed Gary off.
I was devastated looking at that episode
Same
me neither
I watched that when I was 30-something. Loved it!
That was my favorite show and I was SO sad when they cancelled the show.
I so clearly remember the very first time I saw Thirty something - it was a SHOCKINGLY accurate portrayal of exactly how narcissistic yuppies were living their lives in the late 1980s!
I loved this show. Even named my sons after two of the characters!
I was so mad/sad when this beautiful show was canceled.
The format for this show was excellent, and could be rebooted.
I saw Patricia Wettig (sp) at Vassar College years ago. She was directing a summer program there and my friend and I had come to the same restaurant after playing tennis on campus. I loved it too I was 20 something with my first baby so I was very identified with the character’s!!
I wish they had rebooted it! What a shame. Great show. ❤️
TY so much for this update.
I loved that show! It was so realistic. I wish they had not ended it.
Ken Olin’s work on This Is Us was phenomenal. I guess his acting career post thirtysomething wasnt too memorable, but he’s an excellent director.
What about the kid who played Ethan? He always got on my nerves. Otherwise, I loved the show and remember it fondly. It was sort of like the TV version of "The Big Chill".
Much better than The Big Chill.
Oh yes... 😅 about Ethan...annoying (I never liked his Dad either - my favourite couple being Michael and Hope)
I super loved this show.

Thanks for this!
You forgot Ken’s major role as Father Damian on Falcon Crest.
I was 26 and living with a group of friends, sharing a house. This series spoke to me.
Peter Horton went on to direct and cameo in the short-lived Fox college series, Class of '96.
Wonderful show! Thx!
A reunion movie would be great

What a great show that was……….
I had Patricia Wettig and Timothy Busfield as customers when I was working at Barneys New York in the late '80s. Very nice people.
I loved Ken Olin in "EZ Streets"! That's where I first became aware of Joe Pantoliano (as Jimmy Murtha)...wow!! I loved this program. Crushed when Gary died. Omgosh
This is one of those shows that I’ve kind of heard about, but isn’t on any streaming service.
I was hoping for the Thirtysomething song. Need that nostalgia.

Great cast. Accomplished humans. Smart show
I loved that show!
Great show!
Really loved this show
Melanie and Polly were my favorites ... and, of course, Miles Drentell
I named my daughter Hope after a character on this show!
cringe
I was in my 20’s but married and living the same kind of life and could relate. I was sad it ended after just a few years.
1987 ? So those 30 somethings are all like 70 now
Great show
I would like to see Ken Olin and Jon Hamm play brothers in either a film or TV series. They already look like brothers.
Yes! I always think of one when I see the other... 😅
Miss this show
When I was in my 20s
Thank you!!!
Omg watching this in my late teens lol
This was one of my late wife's and my favorite shows in the late 80's. Television was different then, it's just not like it was anymore.
I was 30 something , watching 30 something,,,Now, I am 70 yrs old…miss those days😅
Still watch this on dvd on the regular
Loved this show i was 20 something lol
I was heartbroken by Wettig's cancer storyline. If I remember correctly, her performance won her a Golden Globe.
I still remember the program when the boiler busted - I was watching the program and had to put on an extra jumper because I felt cold
I also like brothers and sisters but just like 30 something …getting right into it and then no more
Although I knew this show was very popular for its time I somehow never saw it! Maybe it was on a night when I always worked in college!
I remember Merriam from the movie Car Wash in 1976,
where she played the cashier before she got her nose job 😂
Oh yeah the girl in the bathroom
I found a boxed set of DVDs of this series. Sadly, there were no closed captions.
I used to love tnis! It's sixtysomething, now!😅
Good show...
I was wondering when somebody was going to bring these folks up I wish they could make a comeback
I was twentysomething when this was on..
I love this show - but it’s strange to know that Ken Olin and Patricia Wettig were married (and still are). I also loved L.A. Doctors. No mention of Tim’s role in Field of Dreams?
I knew they were married
I was only 14 when this show was on, but I would still watch it. I was a weird kid. I mean, it was a great show, but why would a kid watch this.?
I have all the DVDs, all four seasons.
Really enjoyed this show when it aired. For some reason I thought Mark Harmon was cast as Michael.
When I saw that picture of Timothy Busfield and his wife Melissa Gilbert.. I realised it was time to book my apartment at the old people's home.
I really enjoyed the show and it was just getting good when it ended
I was in my late 20s and
And was looking forward to the next season and then it was canceled
really hated Timothy Busfield - he activates my gag reflex
Mention of the show cured 'Al Bundy's' constipation!
I loved the show too!!!! Put these old nice shows back on TV!!! It is all garbage now.....
Peter Horton had a decent roll in the volleyball movie, Side Out.
Peter Horton (Gary) was married to Michelle Pfeiffer from 1981 - 88.
Ah yes. My buddies and I called it "Something yuppie this way comes."
Where can I watch this
I love this show to
I’ve seen many actors I swore were Ken Olen. Some how these characters were real in some way. Maybe it was just a timing issue in my own experience. Thanks.
Gary's baby momma.... What about her?
She wasn’t part of the group
