Watching Jake E Lee gives me good memories in the past. My best friend, in High School used to play Jake E Lee guitar solo for me every weekend. At 5 p.m. every Friday, after school, I would be at his house, until Sunday night, to go back home and go to school; Monday morning. My best friend, Vince Irwin, died in my hometown. Everytime, I hear Jake E Lee, it reminds me of my best friend, Vince Irwin. At least, Jake E Lee is still around and that is very good to see!!!
Sounds like one cool friend. Jake was my neighbor when I lived by LAX in the late 80s, early 90s. Didn't know him, never met him, but saw him with Ozzy about three times. Awesome player.
To me Jake is the Jimmy Page of the 80's. He seems to have a depth and darkness that only he, Blackmore, Cantrell, Thordendal and Page can plumb in their songwriting. Yet, he has more energetic dexterity and precise intensity than the others. On top of all of that he seems to be the most humble and grateful dude. I always felt like Ozzy made a mistake letting him go (even though I like Zakk). It took me years to fully appreciate Jake's depth as a guitarist because he was the only big 80's guitarist that was about function more than flash. Hopefully more people will come to appreciate his true genius.
Jake's my favorite Ozzy guitarist. I wish I could have been there when Bob Daisley and Jake E. Lee were writing Bark and Ultimate. It must have been a creative bonanza.
Jake is KING ! He is the total package as a hard rock guitarist and he is as real as it gets as a person too. Don't ever go on hiatus again Jake as we were deprived during your absence !
Always loved his playing. I was at the the "Ultimate Sin" tour that was filmed in '86 in Kansas City for the concert video release. I was mesmerized by Jake's playing, the guy is still a badass!
A true genius and innovate.i crafted my free flow improvisational play on guitar by MR. Jake e. Lee.he's the best hands down blue collar, dingy, think on the fly, rock hard guitarist.i always wanted to play a charvel like him.just watch his solo in the DVD ultimate Ozzy.mind blowing.god bless for a man like Jake e. Lee
No. That can't happen. There would be too much legendary epicness in one room. It would cause a tear in the fabric of space and the universe would implode.
Jake’s one of the greatest guitarists out there and wrote some killer songs and riffs with Badlands too. My favorite Ozzy albums are Bark at the Moon and Ultimate Sin.
Even though I was a huge Randy Rhoads fan I didn’t want to accept jake as a replacement., as a teenager this cassette tape showed up on my door step from Columbia records club. Needless to say a wore it out my junior year of high school. Such a great album and great guitarist
love this song . love the two Jake w Ozzy albums Bark at the Moon and Ultimate Sin . fan of Jake since i saw him at his Ozzy debut at US Festival II , day 2, in 1983 in San Bernardino CA . insane memorable line up that day . look it up .
Jake is one of my all time fave guitarists. He really found his soul on The Ultimate Sin, he wasn't the intimidated 18 year old anymore. He got his contract right and wrote some kickass material. I loved Badlands as well. I have watched many videos with this singer and this dude kicks ass. He fits in well with Jake. I hope I get to catch Jake after concerts open back up from lockdowns.
Jake just owns it. That vibrato and unique style... right up there and equal with Zaak and Randy undoubtedly. Love the way he performs too, a real show-off.
Jake had the impossible task of stepping in for randy after his tragic passing and he did probably the best anybody could have of hoped for . He truly is amazing at making music and has a unique and memorable style and flair . #1 Randy Rhoads,#2 Jake e lee , #3 zakk wylde
I love listening to this album on my old worn out cassette. I actually did a nice rip of it so I will always have my original copy I listened to since I was 12. Makes the guitars sound even more crunchy and volatile.
Randy never got the chance to really blossom into what he was capable of. we'll never know.... what a loss. Jake was the perfect choice to continue what Randy started. Jake and Randy have 2 different styles that compliment eachother.
Light Bearer, YOU HAVE TO BE FUCKING JOKING RIGHT? TONY IOMMI? RANDY RHOADS? ZACK WYLD? DUDE THESE GUYS EAT HIM FOR BREAKFAST ALL DAY. JAKE E LEE WAS A GREAT PLAYER FOR SURE WHEN HE WAS AT HIS BEST WITH OZZY BUT I WOULDN'T PUT HIM NEAR THOSE GIANTS OF GUITAR, NOT A KNOCK ON HIM AT ALL THINK OF THE MILLIONS WHO PLAY GUITAR HE IS GREAT BUT NOT LIKE THOSE GUYS.
Never get tired of Jake’s playing 🎸🤘
I do, he can't advance.
It's hypnotizing watching him play. I need to see him live.
He is superlative🎉

Sorry for your loss. RIP.
My favorite Ozzy guitarist after Randy. Phenomenal guitarist.
Same here. Sharon is garbage for firing Jake.
Same here mate
I actually like Jake E. Lee better!
Not after Randy. Jake E Lee is better than Randy.
Hell yea
So happy I saw him Live in 84 and 86. Bark at the moon blew me away!

Badlands is amazing, Jake doing what he really wanted to do.
Jake's my favorite Ozzy guitarist. I wish I could have been there when Bob Daisley and Jake E. Lee were writing Bark and Ultimate. It must have been a creative bonanza.
The Jake E Lee years were the pinnacle of Ozzy's career.
always un unpopular opinion but I still feel he was the best guitar player Ozzy ever had.
Not even close
ur way off
jake isnt a pimple on Randy's ass
No the Randy years were the best . No disrespect to Jake , as he did some good stuff after .
Seeing and hearing Jake playing in his old form brings tears to my eyes. Rock on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ultimate Sin is still one of my favorite Albums - I can listen to each song and not skip any - why? Thanks to Jake E. Lee that's why!
Epic album. Jake was/is the man.
Love Jakes playing, him and Lynch are my two faves.... 👍
Jake's top notch
Jake is the highlight of any band he is in. Immensely talented and just absolute precision and creativity in his playing. Amazing. Still a Guitar God.
I would say in Badlands though Ray Gillens incredible vocals equaled Jakes playing as the highlight
His guitar is aggressive like a jaguar!🐆Beautiful!
jake❤
Who needs a whammy bar!, this guy is a true master of his craft!!!!
Jake and Warren DeMartini (Ratt) use the fret to do tremolo- totally wicked
Man that amp is stokin' loud!!
I stood directly in front of Jake with a quartet of 5150s. Mind blowing - Massive tone!!!
Jake's the real deal, always has been.
Jake is so good he doesn't even need a whammy bar. He works the guitar for the sound. Phenomenal guitar player.
That tone!!! I always love Jakes playing
One of the "thumbs down" on this video is Sharon guaranteed. I really dug this vid, long live Jake E. Lee ! We Love You!
I was so happy to see Jake E. Lee come back... that was an amazing opening to a show. Just killed it
Dude is and always was/will be a bad ass. SOOOOOO underrated. Long live the Jake.
One of metals all-time best guitarists, imo
Absolutely! He is way underrated.
Jake E. Lee Always Delivers The Goods Right On Time!
🤛➕️🔥➕️🤜
Jake E. Lee, you still got it!!! And you have James Hetfield playing drums!
funny man!!!....lol true!
My thoughts exactly!!
Ben Ramirez haha
Well Hetfield would be better at playing drums than Lars LMAO
your eyes are fucked up ....thats NOT james dude
A guitar master and one of my influences when I started playing guitar and years later, even today.
I've come back to this video multiple times, talk about being in spirit! The confidence in his playing was amazing!
Jake and Ray Gillen was a match made in heaven! RIP Ray Gillen..
Jake is KING ! He is the total package as a hard rock guitarist and he is as real as it gets as a person too. Don't ever go on hiatus again Jake as we were deprived during your absence !

When I hear something about a ukulele player called Jake Shimabukuro in Hawaii, I always
remember Jake E. Lee.
Ive always loved this song, really enjoyed his contributions to Ozzy
Absolutely legendary ❤from the full effort
you can tell he loves playing those classic licks he wrote. Legend!
Its about moving air with tone and Jake can do that. plays hard with expression too. one of the best
Good job zooming in on his hands during the solo. Jake is absolutely smoking on this.

Gotta love Jake’s tone and chops ! 🎶🎵
Best Ozzy Guitarist imo. Most melodic anyway.
- Damn right, bro. Jake E. Lee is the man.
Melodic?? haha Please , he's ok but cant even compare to Randy. I saw both play with Ozzy and Randy is a legend. To each their own.
yeah thats why he uses the same chords in every song and they all sound the same. pft..
Randy never got the chance to really blossom into what he was capable of. we'll never know.... what a loss. Jake was the perfect choice to continue what Randy started. Jake and Randy have 2 different styles that compliment eachother.

Jake E Lee is my favorite guitar player by far.
One of the best ever and major stage swag
I love esposito bass work!!!
jake is easily the most nuanced guitarist ever................... yet still so clearly amazing!
As a man sitting here with a Randy Rhoads Polka Dot V, Jake rules!
Abby Paden, VERY well put.
I get the comment Jake kills it. But to me Randy was a baby, only 23 when Blizzard came out and 24 with Diary.
Jake playing in the parking lot of the famous Rainbow Bar and Grill on the Sunset Strip is cool. Lemmy used to practically live there!
Singer kicks ass!!! Sounds good!!!
Jake is a great guitarist! Loved in with ozzy and what about bark at the moon and shot in the dark.... Incredible guitar playing
Jake Jake jake, wow!!!!! Glad to see this rock icon doing his thing \m/ \m/
still a monster player
LEGEND!
Jake is one of the most Badass guitarists to come out of that 80's era and so melodic and tasty. Way more appealing than pentatonics played 400 mph
Love Zach and Jake. Just something about Jake!
Deserves more Credit and Royalties!!!! One hell of a player!!!
He got exactly what he deserved. He signed a bad contract.. twice! No sympathy at all.
Jake is by far my favorite guitarist to play w Ozzy ....wish he would of stuck around for a few more albums !!!
Jake is always in beast mode. His attention to detail is unmatched.
