To every hair guitar player older than 40 remembers the incredible baldness of Jake. It's unfortunate that he's not in a big legacy band. He was definitely in the top 3 of 80s gun slingers.
I saw this version of the band and I was super close to Jake so that I only concentrated on him and occasionally I would check out the other members of the band I just kind of tune them out... I was there for Jake because he's a leyend and a personal hero and he freaking delivered and I was like couple of feet away from him by his pedalboard. I believe twice in consecutive years I was that close to him the dude is awesome.

Red Dragon Poster would sound better with another bass player, another drummer and another singer. Propose Greg Chaisson on bass, Ray Luzier on Drums and other singer.

Jake sounds good enough coming out of semi-retirement, but his backup band sound like a bunch of clowns.They make it all just sound like a bad kareoke night instead of elevating the songs he wrote during his time with Badlands and Ozzy......This should have been his glory time instead of being such a waste unfortunitly for us fans for Jake.

Jake definitely retired from guitar playing for 30 years. I'm sure since this clip he has grown back to what he had from his early years. It hurts to see who he is playing with compared to what he should be playing with. Initially this project was to get him ready to rejoin Ozzy because he was offered a gig from the Ozzy camp to do a Bark At The Moon anniversary tour, but since Jake fell off the scene for awhile and wasn't keeping up his chops.....the Ozzy camp wanted him playing in a semi serious band so he could work out his old self and playing abilities to be primed for the Ozzy gig that would follow. Well something happened because that never transpired. I don't know which side called it but someone backed out or someone either didn't think Jake was progressing quick enough or Jake's circumstancel to rejoin Ozzy were denied having him not wanting to pursue the Bark of The Moon anniversary tour, and that's why Jake, as of 2022, hasn't really been taking Red Dragon Cartel very seriously because he knew what it's main purpose was and since that fell through he's jus probably t thinking Why bother with this anymore.
Jake has definitely lost his mojo.: listen to the solo. He sounds like a beginner. And I am not talking about fast licks only but also bending, vibrato... How is this possible ??? Other players of his age can still play beautifully( vai, satriani, VH, malmsteen...) I heard that he doesn't want to play Ozzy songs live anymore. I think it is a wise decision.
Well he said it himself back then that sometimes he felt like he played like trash and sometimes he plays godlike. Anyway, he quit music for a very long time. But his guitar approach is still there.
