Absolutely, hands down, a complete musician and one of my three all-time favorite guitarists. Technique, tone, rhythm, and most of all-passion- Jake E. Lee feels everything he plays. The Badlands albums are classics - love all three. What an amazing artist!
Saw him like 20 years ago at Jani Lanes in downtown Orlando, wasn't Badlands no idea who the singer was. Greatest guitar assault I've ever seen in a club!
He's on tour NOW! Just saw them 3/18/19 This very same vocalist did a great job, as did the rest of the band! Of course Jake rocked, but be prepared to hear ALL RDC plus just 1 song from his past - that night it was High Wire from Badlands 1st album. Now Darren James Smith is no Ray Gillen, but who is!?
I love this. Thanks for posting. Its bittersweet since this is his song. There’s no one like him. The appreciation goes both ways between him and his fans. We love you Jake.
I know this would not happen, but Sebastian Bach would be awesome in Red Dragon Cartel. He has the range Ray Gillen did to sing the Badlands stuff in addition to Ozzy and Red Dragon material. Put Rudy Sarzo on bass and they would be awesome.
I’m a major Ozzy fan, listen to him and sabbath pretty much every day. The singer is no Ozzy but he’s pretty decent. Great to see Jake still at it, hope he comes to Birmingham it’ll be great to see one of my guitar heroes live
Jake E. Lee stepped into the vacancy left by Randy Rhodes, on the heels of Blizzard of Ozz, and Diary of a Madman, and made Bark at the Moon never break stride. I’ve always thought he was a great guitarist.
God Bless Jake..happy to see him finally back and happy and healthy guarantee Bark at the Moon will be the most popular tune on the tour still have my Bark album and Ultimate Sin albums.. not sure why he disappeared for years after Badlands..guess he had his reasons Bark at the Moon will always be that most difficult iconic riff that I have seen played and have played so many different ways..almost some kind of mystical aura about it more than any other riff..ever..finally seeing Jake play if the right way..his way odd chord changes..and its never been duplicated.. this is the about the 4th or 5th version I've heard these guy do of this song and poor jake is scared to death of the second solo. he's just mailing that shit in man. he's also playing with the 2nd rate musicians too i mean for christs sake they should be playing in their hometown not out on the road with a legend. very sad.
That was awesome.... By awesome I mean Jake and not that god awful singer... The thing I like most about Jake is that even though about 3 decades have passed since his debut with Ozzy, his electrifying style and form haven't aged a single day.
Jake, what are you doing? You're a rock god. Why did you play around with this. You own the ," Ultimately Sin". It's yours brother. If any person in the world could come after Rhodes,, it was you. You are the Ronnie James Dio, you are the Brian johnson, you are the steve Perry. You kill it bro. We love you
Hi Jake. Known you since Ratt and the flop house in L.A. 1st time meeting and watching you play like 81 or 82 watched you doing some stuff with a friend of mine Joey Vera who as you may know went on to co-found Armored Saint. Also old friends of mine. Hey Jake'? li'l trouble with that closing outro lead on "bark", huh? 5:14 Didn't nail it on the first try went around a count, Improvised what you had to, 5:54 re set-up, tried again pulled half of it off and lost a little articulation. Reason I say, is those are full on Signature licks that a seasoned veteran like myself expect to hear without even looking (trained ear). Known for cleanliness and timing. Anyway may 1983 US FEST. Saw you for the 1st time live, you stunned 200,000 people with your Image and Ability. The first cat to Nail Randy Rhoads and man did you Nail it!! Sorry for the long comment, just a-lot of fond memories. Peace.
Nah' it ain't like that. With so many vids here of random dudes play'n this, is why I made the comment that probably looks overly critical to you. (check out Gus G. or not) Again, it aint like that. I Love and Admire Jake a whole lot!! Besides,. for however small it is, We have a past.
@@mistermajestic3801 I got ya, pal. I guess I get a little defensive about Jake because since seeing him at the US Festival, and the few tours he did with Ozzy I was just mesmerized. He changed my life, and the way I play, and the way I attack a guitar, and the way I think a Guitar Hero should be on stage. He was magnificent in his prime, and still, to this day, he can do no wrong in my eyes.. I guess love is blind that way. Haha. I just chalk up any variations to "Chromatic improvisation"
Well to update... he was going back to OO tunes he hadn't played in 30 years, from when he was a kid. So... he did this a while, and now he's not playing Ozzy tunes at all anymore with RDC. Not unless Ozzy wants to step onstage for a cameo. Other than that only Badlands and RDC, they have enough material for a show.
Jake has every right to perform songs from those two albums he did with Ozzy, he's the reason I picked Charvel back in the day, Sharon needs to take a chill pill
Hi Jake, It came to my attention recently that you read RUclips comments. (Recent Eddie Trunk Interview). I made a highly critical comment that I meant No harm with. I heard you say Some are expecting you to "burn the house down" with your solo's. Listen Jake,. I hope this gets back to you bro. You are a Legend pure and simple. You're explanations make great sense! I am an aging fellow guitarist and understand the mature thing you talk of and how players change and grow with time. You don't have to defend anything IMO. I really hope I am not part of the reason you were talking of not performing "Bark and maybe other Ozzy/Jake stuff". Damn dude, I hope you reconsider that, cause that would be a take away bro'. I'll be more careful with any and all', comments I make in the future, You can bet on that. Just please know I have great respect and will always watch and listen with joy to anything you play brohan. Like I said "Legend" pure and simple.
Darren's a great singer, it's just his vocals are a little raspy and don't translate to the Ozzy stuff very well. Check him out here singing (and drumming) in Harem Scarem: HAREM SCAREM - Sentimental Blvd.
Bought the RDC CD when it came out before I had heard a note. Couldn't wait to hear Jake's playing and tone again. Loved his riffs during Ozzy and Badlands had some moments that really hit it out of the park. However this CD just didn't deliver for me personally. It should have been killer and I can't put my finger on it but it wasn't. I loved the twist on Deceiver but I'm just not a fan of the singer's sound. Not saying he's not good or can't sing. I'm just not a fan of his sound. I think people are looking for Ozzy and Badlands when Jake starts playing too. It's HIS sound and you expect to hear the vocals you've heard for decades.
@@aaronjoley4491 don't get me wrong Randy was fantastic and he was great with kids with teaching them and all around very down-to-earth kind of guy it seemed like, I agree his tone was lacking and his lead runs that were studio recorded sounded very mechanical compared to Jake! His work on the first Badlands album was just downright addicting, ball and chain Highwire I wore that cassette out literally lol! Especially if you watch Jake play his whammy tricks without a whammy bar even doing Randy's stuff watch the US festival 1983 it's pretty fantastic! He does the whammy tricks in over the mountain without a whammy bar and replicates them perfectly, people were just very upset when Randy was killed rightfully so but Jake was treated unfairly because of it!
They both deserve a lot of credit! But the songwriting of Rhoads - Daisley - Kerslake was absolutely special. Ozzy should have supported them and done more great albums than mainly the one. Shot himself in the foot, and Sharon loaded the gun for him.
I think he should do something with John Corabi (Motley Crue/The Scream/Union/Ratt) on vocals and guitar, Jeff Pilson (Dokken/War & Peace/Dio/Lynch Pilson/T&N/Foreigner) on bass, and a badass drummer like Brian Tichy (Whitesnake/Foreigner/Pride and Glory/SUN) or even his ex-Badlands mate Eric Singer (also of KISS, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, Lita Ford).
I love guitarists who play there solos the way they were recorded and the way you expect to hear them not improvised because they can't play them the same way twice, singer doesn't do much for me but "long live Jake"!!👍🏼
I see your point and respect it, I almost feel like you're talking shit about my personal favorite, Lynch, which is a knock on him but it's not about not being able to still play note for note which I do like as well, but George never holds back, he loses himself in the moment and goes somewhere that few could understand. And I know he has some off shows, many do, that were not on, but his unique, very unique style, his growth and he is the hardest working man in music, clinics, year round tours and so many projects, nm his work speaks for itself

He deserves credit for this song and the other music he wrote... great musician
Ozzy needs to man up against his bitch wife
Jake is STILL bad ass, one of my favorite guitarists ever... #mancrush
A great talent with too many issues! Failing to show up for shows, good to see him apparently sober and rocking again!
Jake is the real father of Bark at the moon.!😎👍
and sharon is the bitch that won't admit it! ;)
This is how it's supposed to sound . Jake e Lee is second to none
The best music that Ozzy ever recorded.
i put together with Shot in the Dark lol
That riff. Chills every time.
THE GENIUS ON THE WHITE STRAT IS CARRYING THE WHOLE BAND,JAKE YOU'RE AMAZING, JUST AMAZING
I saw them in NJ they were amazing the whole band so glad Jake is back!!
and BTW the singer can sing very well he handled the Badlands stuff great
Hasn't lost a step. Love Jake! Loved Badlands! Still listen to the debut album to this day.
One of the best solo guitar ever
I am gonna see if this band is still on tour. I would pay to see this. I don't care bout the trolls this kicks a$$.

he still rocks, 57 y/o, and his techninique, sound, vibrato, and accuracy is real awesome.
This is such an awesome song.
Man thank you for sharing this. I was awesome 🤟🤟🤟🤟
Brilliant! Jake is definitely still in the building!
These dudes rock!!
Jake!! Great to see you back at it. As much fire as ever!!!
That was Bark at the Moon. :) Fun show!
Wow, that was REALLY good
AMAZING JAKE.....HAVE NOT LOST A THING.....I THINK JAKES SOUNDS BETTER THAN EVER. AMAZING.
Great video. Thank you for sharing.
Much better than the earlier live recordings. That touring time has payed off. Good job Jake!
I actually don't care for the vocalist but It's still Jake! Jake! Jake!
Great quality video
I'm glad Jakes playing man the boy rips and he's bad ass .....love the band ....
Thank you for the video, Jake still got the shit man! Rock On!
That sounded really really good. Would have loved to have been there.
That was awesome.. Haven't heard it played so well since the last time jake played it.. Wicked stuff really well done guys

guarantee Bark at the Moon will be the most popular tune on the tour
still have my Bark album and Ultimate Sin albums..
not sure why he disappeared for years after Badlands..guess he had his reasons
Bark at the Moon will always be that most difficult iconic riff that I have seen played and have played so many different ways..almost some kind of mystical aura about it
more than any other riff..ever..finally seeing Jake play if the right way..his way
odd chord changes..and its never been duplicated..
He's the reason I added a Charvel to my arsenal
Randy is my hero and then Zakk..Jake is right there..
{that's me with Zakk,,BLS Family Toronto Aug 2013..dream come true}
and I flew down to Cali..San Bernardino..30th memorial of Randys tragic day
March 19th
planning to go back..and stay there forever!!!!!!!!!!
not gonna get into the rest of the Band..wish they were more animated or different
mix of guys but if they make Jake happy then hell its good enough for me
God Bless ya Jake and I hope they come our way Toronto

Very sad and true words. The album version is such a amazing and breathtaking solo. It made me want to hear it again .
I’m confused about the 2nd (ending) solo too. It’s way easier to play than the first one IMHO which he nailed.
Nice work robert. We are using it on the JAM RDC photo slide. \m/

He's carring the band. Begining to end. Sometimes it just works this way. Still a bad ass!
Great Video 👍🏻

He's not Randy Rhoades, but he IS Jake E. Lee! And yes, the frontman blows... Gonna go listen to Badlands now...
Dude, just saw their latest song and I'm like, this is hard blues rock or something. Metal like this is why we love Jake
Tbh i think this band is getting better and better!!
Squatch scores this one pretty good with those deep woods vocals...
Awsome

"Ray Gillian" RIP ,He was a breed above all . This guy isn't Bad ,
Just Ozzy's tone is of a Higher Pitch then People realizes
that intro is beautiful
Got a poster of Jake in the studio..

Singer lets it down but Jake rocks!
Is that Johnny Depps on bass?
WE WANT NEW RED DRAGON CARTEL NOW!!!
Fuck. He's a giant.
Screw the Darren haters. He is bringing it!
yeah, bringing it down below karaoke standards lol
ARE YOU TONE DEAF??
You won't be MY Huckleberry
He's either improved or just had a good night, 'cuz darren did a Fine job 3/18/19!
I wish Jake were my guitar teacher once a week.
If this band had a great singer it could go places! Jake needs to get someone like Don Dokken so guitar and vocals are impressive!
no. no more pretentious metal vibrato singers.
Even with Ray Gillen they wrote unremarkable material.
Neg drummer sux
Go places?
Yeah.... Surrrre
Maybe to the local dive bar for $50/guy.
Theres no fixing this.
It's old and crusty... And needs to go to bed by 9
Dude..Don Dokken????????????? Don was a beast in the day....only then!!!
How tall is the singer? Jeez!
Frost giant
Man this sounds just like bark at moon except for the singer bass n drums but besides that its right spot on jk . Jake is always awesome
jake getting his chops and stage presence back.
Is that Jeff Ross on bass?? xD
I actually thought Kid Rock was playing bass at first..lol
What the hell is Kid Rock doing on bass?
Jake still needs to do this song!
CHEERS🍻🤘
Jake has lost nothing! Once badass alwayz badass!
