Brenda owes a million thanks to Golden Earring for keeping this song alive.
She "owes" millions of fans for keeping this song alive.
no one knows what the lyrics mean
Brendellees coming armstrong
The radio is playing some forgotten song
Brenda Lee's comin' on strong
Brenda Lee was at her best in the late 60’s, she was so classy
I've been drivin' all night,
My hand's wet on the wheel
There's a voice in my head
That drives my heel
It's my baby callin',
Says: I need you here
And it's a half past four
And I'm shifting gear
When she is lonely
And the longing gets too much
She sends a cable
Coming in from above
Don't need a phone at all
We've got a thing that's called Radar Love
We've got a wave in the air,
Radar Love
The radio's playing some forgotten song

I love Brenda’s moves in this video. It’s also my favorite Brenda Lee song. IMO it’s underrated.
Had the honor of meeting her, in 1998.

Been a "Brenda Fan"---since day ONE !! This is one of my top 3 "Brenda Hits" !!
Great
Remember this as a 14 year old
Wow!!! Worth a dozen of today's so-called pop singers.
Have listened to radar Love for 40+ years. Just assumed the lyric Brenda Lee coming on strong was just a reference to Brenda Lee singing well. Did not know it was the name of a song.
I thought a "Brandaleese" was the model of vehicle!
@@jeanettejack2152 lol.. cute!
I always thought coming on strong was reference to the strength of the radio signal. Probably because I have done a bit of long distance driving, and radio stations would fade in and out as you crossed the miles.
@@PtolemyJones
Me too.
@PtolemyJones I thought it was 2 fold...her singing her heart out and strength of radio signal.
55 years later as a 58 year old, cool to find out it was actually a song. Go Brenda Lee!! 🎵
The lyric "And the radio played that forgotten song,
Brenda Lee's 'Coming on Strong' " is actually a tribute to Brenda. When, after years of not hearing it, you can immediately recall a title and the artist's name, the song is not "forgotten", but it made a rather lasting impression!
I had forgotten about this song. Love the way she sings this. Powerful voice.
A born showman (lady) just give her the mic and get out of her way!
Short and chubby=drop dead gorgeous.
What a PowerHouse! Fabulous Brenda Lee was "Coming On Strong" singing another great song by one of the all time "Crafter of Songs,
Little David Wilkins" who by the way is still coming on strong!

Barry Hay finally met Brenda :)
She's so funny!!! And, imho, she's right up there with Karen Carpenter as greatest female singer. Ever. And despite her self-effacing humor, she's gorgeous.
classy lady
Love this video! and she is still singing!
Pain, come on in
