    The light seems improved from the 2 in beam quality for sure. The sensor thing seems pointless only because it could be overridden on the 2, so that seems like an unnecessary “improvement.” Tailswitch and sideswitch appear to be a vast improvement. I’ll be getting one just because they exist, but if I weren’t neurotic I wouldn’t need the new version.

    Love that wm2 in battle green ... really disappointed that I missed out on that one. Great review!

    👍Great review and comparison James👌. Personally I'm not sure that the WM3 isn't just an improved original WM😉. I'm not a fan of bezel up carry so I much prefer the WM2 in that regard, although I do like the new switches and proximity sensor😊.

    Very good review, thanks for the video.
    I still think I'll go for the Warrior Mini 2 even though Olight already released the Warrior Mini 4 by now. I just need that tip-down carry in my pocket.

    Hi from Swizerland , great Video. What is a big difference for me because I,m a firefighter is that Turbo on the WM2 is 4 Minutes compare to the 2 Minutes on the WM3

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  10 месяцев назад

      Great point! Double the runtime on turbo before step down would make a big difference, I imagine.

    I have the battle green WM2 aswell. And I have the prototype WM3 for a few months now. I like them both. But I like the WM2 better. But the WM3 looks more slim line.

    I found the metal bracket will slowly drain your batter if you magnetize the light to it for extended time periods.

    The only real improvement is the beam, but then it auto steps down much quicker. The larger head on the 2 means better heat dissipation. I bought another version 2 on the recent Oct sale.

    On the 3, the sensor is only active right after the light is switched on. So normally, there shouldn't be a need to override it. At least, that's what I understood from watching other videos of the light.

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  11 месяцев назад +1

      You are correct. Basically the sensor only comes into play if there is an obstruction when it is initially turned on. In the event that fog or another object is detected but the user wants higher output, the switch can be used to override the sensor.

    I need them to drop the Cu WM3. My edc is a Cu WM2 and although I've gotten used to the WM2 size increase from The original WM I definitely prefer the smaller form factor and just need the material upgrade!

    I can attest to the button wearing on the WM2, mine is clear now 😂 still works great tho. To be fair I have the limited orange one and several sections of the light are silver now also.

    If it was emitter down I would get it. Or make a clip that i can-put on this light to make it deep carry emitter down carry.

    I have many WM2 and an early access WM3. I'm passing on getting any more WM3 but will definitely use the one I have.

    The battery status led, it looks bigger and luminous in WM3: could it be?🤔

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  7 месяцев назад +1

      That’s a good question. The switch on the WM3 is definitely bigger than the switch of the WM2. Not sure about the battery status illuminators though.

      @@PardonMyEnglish When you put them together for the dark test, the LED on the WM3, it looks brighter...... or maybe it's just a reflection from the camera?

    It's a pretty significant redesign unlike, say iPhones where you get the new model and can't tell the difference. I'd prefer the old beam pattern, but otherwise the new one seems better.

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  7 месяцев назад

      I agree. They did change quite a bit which is nice. The tint is better on the new but I prefer the beam pattern of the WM2 as well.

    What does Olight mean when they say 4000-5200k ???? Either it's 4000k or it's 5000k.

    WM2 had a very practical 'tactical' mode which made the tail-switch turbo for half-press or strobe with full-press. Unfortunately (if I'm understanding correctly) the WM3 does not have this programming option. Seems like a downgrade to me. If you want quick access for a tactical situation it seems like momentary on, and either turbo or strobe. If stealth is your flavor, WM2 offered moonlight with a 1 second hold of side switch. I just can't see much value in a more complicated tail-switch UI to deliver "medium" which is easily accessed by the side switch

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  7 месяцев назад

      Good call. Fortunately the tactical mode is also available on the WM3. The way to access it is the same as it was on the WM2 as well 👍

    • @jkagsl4129
      @jkagsl4129 6 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the reply. I may not have been reading the owners manual correctly, but I had interpreted that the WM3 was similar to the Warrior Nano in that when it was in strobe mode, a half press gave momentary medium or half-turbo while a full press gives momentary strobe. The WM2 in this setting gives momentary FULL-TURBO at half press and momentary strobe at full press. Can you confirm that the WM3 does have a setting where half press of tail-switch gives full turbo and full press strobe? Thanks again for the response. Unfortunately the owners manuals online are very sparse.

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  6 месяцев назад

      Oh, I see! You are correct. The WM2 tactical mode does have Turbo + Strobe, while the WM3 has medium + Strobe.

      @peskycitizen66 likes its not totally a bad light, and some ppl may like the bezel up, im just one of those guys that likes the bezel down unless it's the bigger lights like wxt, javelot, marauder... The ppl that burn there pockets shouldn't be allowed to carry a powerful light lol

    The Olight knurling on the Warrior and Baton series lights are just so much alike. No emitter options yet again and don’t get me started on the gradient paint jobs we specifically boycotted in the Facebook group. Who needs another Cool White edc flashlight with so little improvement? They over release on these monthly sales, resulting in basic products that only ever slightly get better and that’s subjective to how you use it.

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  11 месяцев назад

      I don’t mind the gradient or grip texture, personally but emitter opinions would be nice. They may release another option(s) later, who knows.
