    Thanks so much for making this video! I spent hours listening to various GP tabs being frustrated by what I was seeing not matching what I was hearing in the song, then bought the Cowboys from Hell licensed tab book only to find that was also wrong (actually mind blowing given the detail the book goes into of Dime's approach while writing/playing it etc). Your tabs and explanation is the only thing I've found so far that matches what I'm hearing and it didn't cost me $60! Absolute legend!

    The drums in the backing track makes it sound like a country song with really good guitar

    When playing this on a 22-fret guitar (like Dime did when we wrote and performed this song) the last high note is done by hitting harmonic on the 1st and 2nd string that you can find above the neck pick-up where there would be a "24th fret". And then, after hitting the harmonic you dive on the floyd a bit before going back to the main riff. Hope this helps!

    • @jaibandroide
      @jaibandroide 5 лет назад

      i hear like he hit two harmonics, one almost on the 4th fret and the last one on the 3rd... john petrucci hits the same places on the 6th string on under a glass moon... (chris has a vid on that solo)

    very tough the stretch 15 18 22 as i have medium size fingers which tend to jam the strings muting the sound and killing the notes....u are a big guy so its easy.i can cheat with tapping easily! but i am tempted to stay honest and untap--but i am still struggling, now 2 days of 2 to 3 hours of playing (how many days would it take to crack this part?) ...8.43 part of the video is what i am referring to....and do you follow cricket? you sound aussie..

    Only one thing wrong about this lesson. This song is actually in standard tuning yes Pantera's Cowboys from hell album is tuned down a quarter step but this song isn't I'm not sure if it's the only song but it might be. So basically you all can jam along to this tune without detuning you guitars.

      Yeah, a friend of mine showed me that trick, and he's a HUGE Pantera fan. I could be a bit off, though; he may have said 434 or 433 as well. But I know it's somewhere around there.
