Bayonetta - Final Jeanne boss fight

This video features the boss fight against Umbra Witch Jeanne towards the end of Chapter XIV: Isla del Sol from Bayonetta. I decided to record only the fight proper and the cutscenes happening immediately before and after it, basically cutting out the last cutscene of the chapter. Note that this video was recorded on the PC version of the game (released on the 11th of April 2017) and while playing on Normal difficulty.
Jeanne is a recurring boss from Bayonetta, whom is fought four times over the course of the game (three times if you consider the first fight just a tutorial for the Moon Walk). The fight you have with her in Isla del Sol towards the end of the game is, of course, the hardest one yet, being the last one and all.
While Jeanne won't behave much differently from the earlier fights you had with her, this time around there are three elements making the battle far more challenging:
- Jeanne has more HPs than ever (more than what the Auditio/Cardianl Virtues bosses were capable of prior), so the fight will go on for quite some time
- Jeanne will use Wicked Weaves attacks far more often and, more importantly, will deploy new, different versions of them, which are very close to the demons you have been summoning for the whole game. While such behaviour will allow you to trigger Witch Time more often, these attacks will hurt a fair deal if they get to you
- Like all the later boss fights from Bayonetta, this one is also fgrequently interrupted by hard-to-pull-off QTEs. Some of them will outright kill you if you won't win, while the majority are about countering one of Jeanne's special attacks and getting a chance to inflict serious damage to her. The problem is that these QTEs require good reaction times and reflexes, and you are going to recive a lot of damage should you fail

I tried for like an hour to beat this fight. After I won, I looked like a had just survived a world war. The stress sweat hadn’t made me smell any better

Blood and Darkness has to be one of my favorite songs in the soundtrack. Red and Black the original has to surpass it though.
We all had the struggle of this boss fight but it's a pain to do in non stop climax like she hits you just a few times and your almost dead
@Jasonbowgaming 6 idk why but whenever I did non stop climax I always did this stage for the last boss battle more dramatic I did the others first
Even harder when trying to pure platinum it, which I did btw and yes it was true suffering

Jeanne should've been Bayonetta's Echo Fighter in Smash Ultimate!
This but a Jeanne model should've replaced Bayo's Jeanne palette swap.
Luckily, there's already a mod for it. :)
Stronger Smash Attacks and Bullet Arts.
Slightly faster running speed.

I love that part where Jeanne and bayonetta are fighting on top of Freakin MISSILES!
They also fought on flying rocks, and a falling aeroplane :) can't wait to see what they'll do for bayo 3

@@LTDLetsPlays amazing. The ending is not satisfying but the game was still outstandingly fun :) the demon slave mechanics made the gameplay so much fun along with the demon masquerade XD

When you managed to keep a decent amount of HP towards halfway of the fight and allowed yourself to rest for a second

I love how umbran witches understand demos and angels but they don't pronounce perfectly "isla del sol"

First four fights are like the San's pre-fight warmup. When it finally introduces Umbra Witch Jeanne, the real fight begins.
Jeanne's boss fights are easily the very highlight of this game

@@will.2155 I like this game,but I agree. The rocket part shooting is pretty bad imo and I feel it takes away from the greatest fight with Jeanne. It's a bit nauseating and really is just a bore to get through in my opinion. Idk I just don't really enjoyed being railed I guess. I feel the same way about the final Chapter in Bayo 2.

This fight was a thrill ride. I genuinely thought they had died, so I was basically in rage mode the whole time.
Something I’ve noticed is when I’m angry at a game, I play worse. But when I’m angry at a character I’m fighting? I enter a state where almost every movement, every press of buttons, every reposition and combat decision is pure perfection. And that led to an absolutely incredible bout.
God I love this game.

in bayonetta 2 lopt stole them from the past and used them in the future
Seems to me like they were already a function within the city. Jeanne just, somehow, gained control of them and unleashed them on the city. Isla Del Sol is a Lumen Sage led island so Jeanne wanting to burn it down makes sense.
My problem is I have nothing to heal with and I'm basically fucked

Hayden Bennett Just got done playing it on Switch. One of the best boss battles I've ever experienced. I haven't even played Bayo 2 yet. To think the sequel is supposed to be better is crazy!

alright, this was AWESOME to watch, seeing you get low on health before getting better at the counters & timing and, even as you're getting the advantage, taking a hit here and there? so much more exciting than the 'NO DAMAGE' runs where nothing really happens.
i just wish you did more than spam the same sword combo over and over. the magic of this game, like DMC, is how you can use all of your tools in tandem to get into a groove where you can truly style on your foes!
Even after going back and maxing out my stats for this fight and practicing more, its such a pain 😐
Had to use 2 yellow and green lollipops to get past this fooker. Normal difficulty my ass! Games were so stressful back in the day…

There's an item that let's you parry by pressing L towards the enemy, makes this fight soooOOoooO much easier [Drake sneezing into sleeve -> Dodging like a madman and accidentally panthering into hairy white limbs][Drake satisfied pose -> Equiping the Moon of Kalaa Mahaa and spamming that L stick]

As a member of the umbran clan, I'm pretty disgusted in this fight. The whole point of bayonetta is not to take damage or use lolly pops and this guy did. #yourshadowwillnotremaincast!

@@paulosarmiento6392 Damage affects the ranking of your score,so it really doesn't matter too much if you're not into ranking systems. However for those who are into it,the only way to get better scores is to get better at the game. Which means you have to learn,adapt and figure out your enemies fighting patterns. I personally think that's what makes the game fun. Hell even without the Ranking systems the game is fun. So I'll be honest, with I'm not sure why you're upset about having to be good at the game to get a better score? You can have tons of fun while sucking at the game. I mean hell I earned a stone on nearly every level the first time I played this game and I had a fucking blast.
The only thing I do agree with here is that I find it stupid that the game penalizes you for healing using the lolipops. Why give me health items when you're gonna take it as death anyways?
I love that Jeanne is as strong and fast as bayonetta and yet got snatched by Luka's hook

Fuck the "Normal" Mode. Not the boss fight, the mode. Im replaying the game & I dont remember this game being bullshit. No wonder I dont, because I played it on the fair Easy Mode. This fight isnt enjoyable at all on Normal. So many automatic dodges when Jeanne shouldve been.
The button mashes, goddamn I havent button mashed that much in a *long* time. The clash where I have to mash Y, twice is completely unwinnable. Witch time is just taken away, which makes certain fights on Normal absolute bullshit. The combat focuses on that mechanic, yet its taken away at times. Meanwhile, Devil May Cry never relied on such a mechanic.
And fuck that handicap of the game punishing you for using items. Why them there then if it screws over your chance to get Gold or Platinum?
It’s clear that you wrote this out of frustration but there is absolutely nothing unfair about this boss fight
Witch time is not the main mechanic of the game at all it’s just here to make the game easier for normal, easy and very easy
It’s not available on the highest difficulty which just leads to the fact that it isn’t the main mechanic
Button mashing is a pain but you can actually avoid it if you want to
as for the items, can you really say that a guy who won without using the items or continues is at the same grade/level of someone who had to use them? Of course not that’s why the grading system is there to begin with.
@@saleh__h If you've read my comment, you'd know my issue with this is the difficulty mode itself, which made this fight bs. It was fine on easy. Hell, DMC on Normal was never bullshit.
There's nothing fair about Witch Time being taken away, when the game revolves around it. And there's certainly nothing fair about that item usage handicap.
