Thanos being the last person you see before it cuts to black, then the credits rolling, starting with that loud horn then going on to a beautifully composed track was emotionally devastating. Like as soon as the music played you get hit with the realization that the Avengers actually lost.

I honestly really wish I can lose the memory of watching this film, only so I can rewatch it and feel the emotions I felt when I first watched it

When the credits rolled, No one talked, no one stood up to leave. We were all silent. I was in tears. We were all in shock that Thanos won.
I remember seeing this on opening night and the entire audience just sat in absolute horror and crying when the credits began. A theater usher came in and told everyone that it was all gonna be okay and that we’d all get through this together.
I was silent too, until the end-credit scene showed. Now I'm excited for Captain Marvel.

It was both the title card fading and the quiet, plaintive tune that got to me. Like watching someone you know and love being ripped away from you, not violently, but slowly.

I saw this movie opening day. In the encore theater so it was the largest one. The whole crowd stayed to see if there were any extra clips. When the credits ended, the lights came back on...and nobody moved. Nobody spoke. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. The silence finally broke when a little girl cried because Bucky died.

I remember seeing Dark knight and thinking, what did i just see? That film had me feeling numb, mainly because it was so epic and Heath Ledger's chilling performance as the Joker. This film gave me that same feeling, but even worse. Me and girlfriend were, just like WOW. We i saw the first Avengers back in 2012, the theater erupted in cheering and applause. Infinity war.. DEAD SILENCE. When you walked out of the theater after the First Avengers film, you felt good and everyone was talking about what was just witnessed. Infinity war...nobody said a word. Even when i went to the bathroom, nobody was talking. That was Amazing. Hats off to Marvel.
Yooo same but not dark Knight. The dark Knight rises got me shooked. It was so good. Even if I'm a very big fan of MARVEL STUDIOS
God so amazing I am gonna go out on a limb and say this is Marvel Studios movie that can rival The Dark Knight in terms of greatness and this is the cliffhanger of the century so far hats off to Marvel this is truly The Empire Strikes Back of Avengers movies!!!

Good news and bad news: Good news is Endgame isn’t his final cameo! Bad news is his last cameo is in Spider-Man: Far from Home which is the next movie in the MCU. Kicking off Phase 4 with one final cameo.
I wish he could lived long enough to see Endgame come out, what a finale that would have been for him to witness. RIP.

Well said. Major difference is that the ending of Empire Strikes back offered and provided some hope and it was bittersweet, how the heroes were beaten and changed, but they survived and will overcome what’s on the horizon.

I am not a huge Marvel fan but that was extremely sad to watch and hear. Its sad because we have been on this 10 year journey with all these heroes that started all the way back in 2008. And now half of them are gone. Its the Avengers's theme which is supposed to be inspiring and heroic. When we hear it, it is suppose to make us happy and excited. Its the heroes we look up to. But here, its played with a piano and the title vanished into dust as a way of saying good bye to our beloved heroes, for they are now gone. Not a huge Marvel fan, but that moment alone broke my heart.

You know a movie is great when even a video of the credits get thousands of views
The moment the credits started rolling, the crowd in my theatre said “WHAAAAAT?” in total disbelief. Meanwhile, I sat there, tears in my eyes and jaw hanging open, as I blinked up at the names of the actors who’s characters I had just witnessed die. It was the most dramatic, emotional cinematic experience of my life. My mum and I then continued to sit there in silence until the theatre lights came back on. WHAT A FILM.

My dad always talked about movie moments that made the audience silent. Star Trek II ending and Empire Strikes Back are examples. I never got to experience them in the movies though...

What is that called,cause I LIKE IT.
This movie left such a huge impact on me. I grew up falling in love with these characters and how the movies brought them to life. And seeing the good guys lose in a superhero movie really reminds you that although they are people with superhuman abilities. They are still only (mostly) humans in the end, which is what marvel excels at, focusing less on the hero but more on who's behind the mask, which is what made these deaths feel a little more sympathetic when it happened.
I don't think a movie has ever left me so speechless before. Infinity War is a damn masterpiece.

When the Marvel Logo at the opening was just a silence with a voice asking for help instead of the epic theme song, I knew that the film's gonna fuck me up real hard.
And when the ending credits showed up with just simply white letters on the black screen with a dramatic score, I realized how HARD the film had fucked me up.

The choice of music was *perfect.* One of my favourite parts about watching this in the cinema, was the dread you felt when the credits started.
When I saw this in the theater, I was SO pissed off. I remember hearing a kid say "oh you've got to be kidding". NOBODY left that theater with excitement, everyone was looking at there feet and aggressevly throwing away their 3D glasses as they exited the theater. For the first time ever, the Avengers have lost.

Most MCU film credits are colorful and graphic and artistically creative. This is the only MCU film to have simple credits against a black background to reflect the bleak ending. Brilliant.

Knowing that the last thing you see on screen is the villain as he looks in the distance admiring her victory. As the music plays after the theater is silent knowing that the avengers had lost their battle with him. But endgame was a different story…

the way the names just flash blankly on the screen and dont even fade in with some kind of special effect or bombastic font. It feels like youre just watching the casualty list of a war, which really fits.
Combined with the fact that the font is typically a graveyard font (as mentioned in a comment below) And that just makes this credits sequence increasingly chilling to watch, just feels like youre visiting a graveyard.

I remember seeing this movie on opening night and when the credits showed up there was a brief round of applause but then everyone in the very packed theater just sat there in shock. I heard a few people crying. A theater usher even came in to rest assure everyone that we would all make it through together.
This credits music is beautiful though which made the movie that much more emotional. 🙃☹️😭💔

When the credits started rolling, I heard many people crying in the theatre. I had so many emotions including tears and me thinking “Wait, that’s how it ends!?” And then my brother looked at me and I said “what... I’m not crying”
I remember seeing this on opening night and the entire audience just sat in absolute horror and crying when the credits began. A theater usher came in and told everyone that it was all gonna be okay and that we’d all get through this together.
This is like the bad ending in a video game.

This is what I liked about the end credits; there were no extravagant images or upbeat tunes. It was kept very simple and somber to convey that feeling of loss and hopelessness felt throughout the film. Yes, there will be Avengers 4 but between now and then, we're left to wonder what's next and where do we go from here.
Alan Silvestri's slow and sad music coupled with the main title fading away is a powerful touch to the sentiment of loss.

Infinity war and endgame are the best marvel movies of all time. Thanos is such a well thought out and layered villan that you can see his motivations are deep. The ending in infinity war proved that the avengers can lose the battle and the villan can win. Endgame was so good because all of the snapped people came back in order to defeat the biggest bad of the mcu making it a time stopping, breathtaking experience. But infinity war was cold and chilling with the people turning to dust leaving everyone in silence expecting the heroes will win. You see, these two movies *will* make you realize hero movies can go south with them losing
