      Was that at the old entertainment centre in Sydney because he did there at the concert we were at. The band in the background cracked up, smiles all round, no one was hurt, the mic stand was caught and handed back, but as you said never missed a beat.

    • @makeitso74
      @makeitso74 2 года назад +2

      Yes, I witnessed the same. It was always hysterical when it happened, which ... was a fair bit. :)
      I couldn't help but laugh when the awesome Mr. Reactions mentioned the mic and did he ever drop it. Not laughing in a nasty way, however much like many others in the comments, I've been fortunate to see Mr. Farnham perform many times over the years, including with Olivia and Anthony in The Main Event, and apart from forgetting the occaisional lyric or ten, there seemed to be an ongoing joke of many many broken mic stands.
      All part of the brilliance, that and the fact they all seemed to have so much fun performing together.

    • @darrensanderson1031
      @darrensanderson1031 Год назад +1

      I had a live album of his, and there's a spot in one of the songs where he messed up his mic stand grab, so there's a moment of laughter at himself in the middle of the song before he keeps on singing.

Actually he’s from Castlemaine. He played with The Nelson Twins in the US among other bands. He also had a guitar school I believe in LA for a number of years. John is an Aussie icon and well loved. From his early beginnings as a 60’s pop icon to Little River Band in the 70’s to Whispering Jack in ‘86 and onward. He was always loyal to his band and backup singers…so much so that he took them everywhere, classed them as family and never treated them as anything other. The moment you mentioned John with Tom Jones on this AC/DC song, I said YES YES YES... because I'd seen them do it together, and it was awesome. In fact there are two performances... one when they were on tour together and another at an ARIA awards show in Australia. BUT, I'm glad you did this video per your Patreon request because I hadn't seen it, and it was absolutely thrilling. Your eyes just lit up when JF started rockin', it was great. I went about 5 of his concerts and he was always fabulous and sounded even better than his recordings. You are right he is definitely up there with the best in the world.. He often used to try mike stand tricks but 3 times out of 5 he'd mess it up and then just grin. He was always humorous and most of his humour was about himself, his drummer was very popular with the females so JF called him "Mongrel" affectionately. I remember at one concert he forgot the words to one song and he got the giggles and after about 5 minutes he was able to carry on.

    As others have said, this is an Acca Dacca classic, which Farmsey rocked it hard. He has covered a heap of songs, especially during rehearsals.

    Guitarist is Brett Garsed (Rambo) he left for 4 yrs to go play with The Nelsons (Ricky's twin sons Gunnar and Matthew) in the states... Johns band has only been switched out over the years a few times... Jack Jones , Phil Buckle (both from Southern Sons) Stewie Fraser (Noiseworks) have been in to replace or join Brett - some stayed ... bass players have changed for periods... Wayne Nelson (Little River Band) did a few tours... Keyboard/musical director David Hirschfelder (blonde looks like a prince haha) left to go write scores for movies and does very well ) was replaced by Chong Lim who is still with the band. .... Drummer never changed... always Angus... backing singers Lisa and Lindsay - Lisa only left to have a baby... Danielle Gaha stood in for her and stayed a while... Vanetta I think may have gone back to the states...

    John Farnham is my childhood. I feel so grateful that I got to grow up with these great Aussies musicians, especially going to their live concerts, or pub gigs. The kids of today get video's yeah, but we got to get up close and personal in the pubs with Jimmy, Diesel, Screaming Jets, Divinyls, Noiseworks and the list goes on. Seen Farnsey live 17 times, and would still be first in line for tickets if he did another Perth gig. Farnsey live is spectacular, and all en cumbering, theres nothing like it. Keep up to the great Aussie story, and ill keep following

    Bro this is from Australia's Best Ever Band *AC-DC* in the original Bon Scott learned to play bagpipes for the solo. The film clip was the band on a flat bed truck driving down the street in Melbourne circa 1979? 🇦🇺

    This was so much fun , but you should see him doing this from his 1980 concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra , the conductor and the orchestra were all having so much fun LIVE they could not stop smiling and laughing , along with about 7 thousand people cheers from Australia

    I love the way they combined the sax and keys to recreate the bagpipes from the original AC/DC video. Since Bon played the bagpipes in that video (and infrequently in live performances), it's a critical element that is often left out of covers.

    Its so refreshing to see thenext generation getting into Farnham and Bon Scott's AC/DC song, I am old enough to say I went to Johns wedding, (not as a guest haha at St Johns Church Glenroy) I also met him outside his mother in laws house, loading the trailer, most down to earth guy ever, BTW he said hello to me first x such a legend
