Burns $$$ directly. The MSRP on the tacos is dumb. Not to mention what the dealers will pull after too.
Still worth EVERY penny
It's not that much money lol
@@allentoyokawa9068quiet troll
@@driftx2 It is for a midsize truck. Squarely in full size territory.
@@plmn93 what full size can you get at same price? Maybe a used one
Remember when tacomas were lower 20k back in 2000 and you could be a wait or and afford one?
It's called inflation...
20k in the year 2000 is $36,000 today. The new Tacoma starts at $32,000 lol.
That was expensive back then. I bought a new 2007 GMC Canyon for under $13k.
go ahead and compare a 2000 tacoma to a 2020+ lol ya doofus
@YourTryingLuck right lol. Let's list off the improvements that have been made.... I need a lot of paper.
$14,000 more for a hybrid? Highway robbery. That’s a big inflation increase.
worth every penny
It's not just the hybrid it's the best engine you can get on the Tacoma
I don’t have 50k buy me one.Obviously its a joke. I don’t want anyone to pay for my optional expenses, just like college loan foregiveness. I pay my own bills, not let taxpayers pay it for me.
It's like a $3,000 add. Don't know where you got that number. Unless you are going up trim levels.
@@driftx2 watch the video, the guy says the hybrid price vs non hybrid. I force max
Looks like a baby tundra....
But better!!
Not nearly as ugly though
I bought a 93 Toyota Pickup new for 7299. Should have kept it.
How can you mess up a simple taco? When you add to many ingredients
Yes, you want to be careful when your Taco turns into a TuRD.
Electrified off-road beast.
I like it, unfortunately can't afford the price for a new one. Maybe when the used ones become available.?
Looks nice!
No way that ticking 4 banger is smoother than the 4.0 🤣
I have a 2007 SR5 rear wheel drive. Love the 4.0L more
I get that the extra torque is nice, but how long is that gonna last, say, when you are towing up on an incline?
That tiny battery underneath the rear seats can't last that long, and the engine will need to divert power to the generator to keep the battery charged, since the truck won't work without the motor in between your engine and transmission.
I am just speculating here, but it would be nice for reviewers to test this kind of things out a little bit, eh?
I think it's pretty slick. I love me some hybrid power although i can't afford any of it, sure is cool in theory..lol
So these can be either a hybrid 4-cylinder or a turbo 4 cylinder?
Hybrid is also a 4 cyl turbo
nice BUT for the TDR pro its $65,000 !!!!! NO no no............thanks .. give me the SR5 with a 3.5V6
I don’t know why anyone would buy any midsize truck for that price. If I was going to spend that kind of money I’d buy a nice, comfortable full size.
$14k extra for the hybrid to get 24mpg. I see Toyota is into writing jokes now.
They claim it’s a performance only hybrid, not for getting better mpg.
@@Policearegood-mt6kx considering how expensive gas is these days and how inefficient trucks are to begin with, this was a dumb move. America's first hybrid truck sucks on gas.
@@palebeachbum yeah, I don’t know why anyone would spend all that extra money for the hybrid, but I’m sure there’ll be some Idiots who do.
This new Tacoma is already having issues and Toyota really should have thought more about keeping a V6 as an option..
Emission standards aren’t allowing them anymore. Fix the government first
@@waterloo123100 if that's the case then why is Nissan keeping the 3.8 V6 for the frontier refresh???
literally 6 months ago everyone was whining about the "slow dinosaur V6" .... now they want it back 😆
@@hailstorm1986they either have enough gas guzzler credits to keep them in production and make profit still or they have made it pass strict emission standards. If you want the real detail ask Nissan.
@@waterloo123100 Stellantis could have kept the hemis by purchasing carbon credits but the European executives said NO to the American divisions but yet so many enthusiasts don't understand this at all. The hemis aren't coming back. In regards to Nissan, I think it's because of the two EVs they have and they're smaller cars which is probably why they are able to keep that engine but honestly they really should have a 4-cylinder for the Frontier with a stick shift which withdraw way more buyers..
Im thinking about that 2024 Tundra tho
To think Toyotas used to be affordable
In comparison to domestics Toyotas were never "affordable"... the Toyota was ALWAYS the more expensive option versus a domestic due to the reliability factor.... go back to the old 80s Camrys... you were paying more versus say a Ford Taurus
I built one WITHOUT the hybrid drivetrain. TRD Sport with 4WD due to living in the northeast. $52k while the Tundra I built was $56k. If I had the money, you already know which one I’ll pick.
Tundras have incentives right now too, around $7000 off around me.
so more power, but less towing?
Less towing because of the extra weight the hybrid adds, but it'll pull better I'm sure with the extra torque.
Nice looking truck, the good thing is the TRD Pro only cost $65K, so out the door with sales taxes and plates and dealer markups and add ons will be a $75K midsize pickup, with a small 4 cylinder engine, thanks Toyota! 😂
Way to go is to get an Off-Road with the hybrid option (4K) if you want a new 🌮.
I’m keeping my 3Gen Off-Road Premium that I got for 42k
The price tho.
Some hybrids make a lot of sense. This one doesn't come close.
i am old school
NO need for 14 screen just want v6
The added torque is only short live. It is time reviewers learns about how hybrids work.
No it is not
The torque is more effective on the non hybrid. The 4 cylinder is undersquared for a very low torque curve combined with 8 speed auto runs circles serious the previous generation
50k for a midsized? Damn.
Just get the Tundra.
They took a big step back with this new gen
umm no they didn't, a huge step forward**
Every metric is better than previous gens. 😂
It drive nice but with the pricing and is just a 4 cylinder and hybrid all I can say, thank you but not Thank you.
We don't care
@@allentoyokawa9068 All your comments here indicate that you care very much about what people think about this truck. Which makes sense, with Tacomas being the number 1 choice for posers.
Corporate greed is killing us!
They are sitting on lots not selling.
$40 what thousands for a midsized truck with a 4 cylinder engine made in Mexico? In 2020 I received an offer for a decent SR5 4 doors OTD for $30k that was 4 years ago. This truck is not twice as good to ask for twice the price.
The 2.4Lt ENGINE and powertrain are made in Huntsville ALABAMA... then the rest is shipped off to Mexico
@LexusGX460-OFF-ROAD and yet, they are already reporting issues. These trucks just came out, how can they have engine issues already?
Well, at least it’s not an EV.
Only 326hp lol. Toyota always manage to provide so little. That’s minivan power
326hp is plenty for the 4cyl
No thank you for 65k + $$
Have fun spending 70k on 4 cylinder Trd pro 😂😂😂
Yeah they think it’s going to compete with a base F150 Raptor or something. Outside of a few mpg the ranger Raptor is way better at $8430 less starting msrp. Sorry but I don’t need ventilated seats and sunroof. I need 400 HP and an off road capable pickup that fits in my garage.
Not worth the price
Low quality video
Btw, hate comment has been reported to RUclips.
Will sell like hotcakes; best in class by far and worth every dime nickle and penny.
You must be working for Toyota lol 😂
At least they should pay for more people to spam people that way it’s not just you on everyone and their friends responds and comments lol 😂
Get a real job.
I bet you don’t have a Tacoma and your just working here.
Have you ever seen $50 thousand dollar cash ? Lmao 🤣
@@dragsmoothfishingtv635he’s a troll. Says the same thing about anything Japanese.
Looks like the Ford ranger
Overpriced and overrated good job Toyota.
So much gayness.
That's fucking cool! 😂🎉😮
Junk
Well, at least it’s not an EV.
