Interesting thing the Wiki pointed out: In Sengoku's flashback, Rocks D. Xebec was using a sword of some kind. Blackbeard's ship is named the Saber of Xebec. Hmm....

Streusen was probably a Rocks Pirate as well. A quote from the wiki: ""Gourmet Knight" Streusen is the executive chef of the Big Mom Pirates,[1] and is also the co-founder of the crew alongside Big Mom herself. Prior to his current position, he was the chef of a certain pirate crew that has since fallen apart."
Yeah that pretty much confirms it... Streussen was the cook of the Rocks crew
I also think Streusen was the driving force for LinLin to join Rocks in the first place because of quick money lol

But he’s been with Big Mom since she was 5. Then he helped her to form the Big Mom pirates. He was probably a chef of some other crew before he ran into her. Much before she was a part of Rocks (at 30).

Theory: Blackbeard was Rocks student and took the name ‘D’ after Rocks died after seeing the weight the name carried making Blackbeard an illegitimate”D.” This kinda explains why Teach was the only “D” to not smile at the prospect of death.

I really believe teach was rocks' son and took on the name of his mother. Blackbeard was the reason ace died/Roger was the reason Rocks died. Blackbeard is obviously also following rocks' path. Same island of operations, same world domination fetish and his ship is the "Sword of Xebec".

I'm half convinced of this:
- The Rocks crew formed on Beehive
- The Davy Back fights were created on Beehive
- The Rocks crew hated each other
Conclusion: Rocks gathered his crew mates through Davy Back fights. It would be a silly enough twist for a powerful villain that Oda would totally do that.
So the twist is that rocks did have a son... Foxy D. Xebec

Calling it now: Dragon would've been 17 at the time of the God Valley Incident. He was probably a young marine at the time and maybe pissed off a Celestial and ended up a slave on that island.
When the Rocks came to destroy it all, Garp had no choice but to protect his son and by extension the Celestials. But he couldn't do it alone so he asks for Rogers help. Might explain why Roger entrusted Ace to Garp, cos he knew how far Garp would go to protect his own and also why Garp accepted.
Dragon probably figured out the atrocities of the World Government and more during his time as a slave on God Valley (which might incidentally be now situated beneath Maryjois. I.e. The mysterious place Ym visited) and left the marines before starting the revolutionary army.

Also we have never seen Dragon’s bare back or most parts of his body. Also Kola has said that they aren’t taking down the Marines but the celestial dragons. So it has some backing.
Most theories fans come up with are shit, some are amazing. But this will better than whatever Oda does hands down

Blackbeard does have a lot of connections to Rocks, and loves researching history. Also everything he has done up to this point was all part of a long form plan, meaning he is following some sort of guideline.
~ He ended up joining the crew of a former Rocks pirate (Whitebeard), to look for the Yami Yami no mi
~ He named his flag ship Saber of Xebec
~ He made a base on Honeycomb/bee hive Island, where Rocks formed his crew
~ He is seemingly following in his footsteps by forming a powerful crew.

My theory is that Rocks won Whitebeard in a Davy Back fight, since the Rocks were formed on the very island called Pirate Island or Beehive where the Davy Back fight was invented.

Just because they are Big Mom's family does not mean they where parts of Rock's crew. When Franky joined Luffy, he did not bring his gang with him and if Jinbey catches up with Luffy, he probably won't bring his crew either.
I don’t know, maybe they didn’t come along pirating with their mother, in katakuri’s flash back they hung around ports and ships.
If Big mom was 30 when on Rocks crew and first gave birth at 18 to Perospero, he would have been 12 and all the other children younger. None would have been able to be an effective fighter, so I doubt they would be on the Rocks ship

And them 12 years later (the oldest, perospero) she came back and they all have no resentments? They were definetively on the ship, even if they were not combatents, but we know that Katakuri is a good fighter ever since he was a kid, he could be "fodder" for the Rocks.

Tekking, since release of chapter 957 i cant take one particular thought of my mind, Sengoku did mention that Rocks was one of those pirates who'd apear from time to time carying the D name, what if Rocks ideals are the same as Blackbeard's? I mean what if Blackbeard found Rocks journal or actually met up with Rocks D. Xebec and inherited his will? that would explain how Blackbeard knew he wanted the Yami Yami no Mi and that it could allow him to get another devilfruit (similar fashion as Rocks). By that logic i think it wouldm also explain why Shanks is so obsessed with Marshal (since Roger (and Garp) stopped him), he'd inherit lets say Rogers will to stop Rocks's plan. Idk, at least its what i understood from the last chapter and all scenes with Blackbears and/or Shanks.

Big Mom is my new obsession and possibly the most interesting character in One Piece. I mean her look now and shape largely, pun NOT intended, is similar to when she ate her foster family and hungerkilled a giant... yet when she was a young adult she was SMOKING HOT. Robin and Nami level. Even had about 30 kids and never loosing her shape. Then what? The 31st child broke her body? Or was it becoming a Yonko she had to bulk up and it blew her back up? I mean if she was still tall as all heck it would have been awkward. But she was still hot. So what happened? TELL US ODA!!!!! Please...
She had daily battles? constantly on the run and surerly couldnt just eat whatever she wanted being on a Ship in the New World
after she sttled down and stopped having daily fights etc.. she got fat , just like in real life? saw that when she was after the sunny she couldnt eat what she wanted for hours and got really thin

The first thing I think of is that SBS where Oda drew Luffy and other characters at ages 40 and 60. If they went down "bad paths" in life, they became fat and ugly... just like Big Mom

Very random, but the other day I was on the one piece subreddit and I saw a post that noticed similarities between the sword that roger wielded and shank’s gryphon, what if roger passed down gryphon to shanks before he was executed. That would also support the idea of gryphon being a saijo o wazamono.
Interesting theory, if that were the case I imagine the flashback of roger giving Gryphon to shanks being super sad😢. I would love to see tekkings opinion on this.

Here’s an idea: The Rocks Pirates were a Pirate Confederation with their homebase being the beehive island. Think of it as loose nation of pirates similar to the real world pirate republic of Nassau back in the golden age of piracy. Again similar to the real world, the British (world) government had to send in someone to destroy the republic with the help of one of the pirate traitors. In this case it was Garp who went to work with roger to take them down. It would add an interesting dynamic to the paragon of the pirates, Rodger.
Also bonus fun tie in: one of the creators of the real world pirate republic in Nassau was Blackbeard. Who lives there now? Blackbeard in one piece

Rocks pirates was just a selection of several strong learning pirates (future yonkos) this why they always were arguing but the fact is that rocks didn't know about Roger so when garp and Roger teamed I bet shikki and the others ran away because they were too weak and saw that rocks was losing

I actually noticed an interesting parallel. Luffy is always compared to Rodger, and it is pretty obvious that blackbeard seems to be related to Rocks. This may be a repetition of the past and maybe another parallel could be coby taking garps place and him teaming up with luffy to take down Blackbeard. Just like Garp and Rodger teamed up to take out Rocks
Now that you mentioned the fact that the Brulee/Katakuri incident took place at the same time as the God Valey incident, it makes me wonder if Kata decided to become the greatest oniichan even because they couldn't rely on their own mother to look after them, since she was constantly off gallivanting with the rest of the Rocks.

What about Whitebeard... Am assuming if he was part of the Rocks' crew, it means Rocks definitely brutalized Whitebeard (Alvida-Koby) into joining his cause, and Whitebeard the kind fellow joined because he wanted to regularly send supplies and money to his homeland.
I feel Whitebeard joined out of necessity, else why would he stick around. And in chapter 434... He even tells Shanks,"When I see those scars, I am reminded of HIM!" Clearly, Whitebeard hates his time spent with Rocks.

My guess is Marco or Perospero or Katakuri knows something about Rocks. Whitebeard seems to have kept a lot of secrets and Marco knows some of them
This is just a guess. But what if during the battle in that island Whitebeard betrayed the Rocks pirate and ended up helping Roger and Garp win the battle. That's why Roger has Saki with Whitebeard before he dies because he's the only one who realized that the taking over the world wouldn't bring true peace. And that's why Whitebeard told Blackbeard he's not the man Roger is waiting because Rocks was wrong all along and he changed his mind and believed Roger told him he should follow his own belief instead of being taken advantage from a guy who says he is the family he never had. It would also explain why Shanks spoke to him about Blackbeard and not with the other Emperors. Whitebeard helping the pirates and Garp in the last minute made Shanks believe he would do the right thing years later. Idk. So many possibilities. Dam you Oda for taking your time.

Hey Tekking 101, this video came up on my playlist again, and I love your content so I watched it again. I think I picked up on which fruit Rocks actually had. At Marineford War, Garp told Sengoku to keep holding him down or he would kill Akainu. I think, dealing with Roger to take down Rocks opened up a glaring weakness, that both he and Roger took advantage of killing off Rocks. We don't know exactly how Akainu got ahold of the magu magu no mi, but we know the when a fruit user is killed it appears again. Also Oda himself called the magma fruit one of the most devastating fruits in existence, and would make perfect sense to give it to Rocks. The more I think about it, the more little nuances I pick up on to support the idea...
You see the Viz release of the new chapter? It confirms that no PIRATE has ever had a higher bounty than Roger. Also the beehive island is actually apparently called "Full-a-lead" island.
Teach is a historian because he has a direct interest in the events during and before the "void century". If I knew that Oda was not afraid to go this route due to it's parallels with the real world, this is what I believe he is leading to. There was an advanced and powerful nation of peoples who were erased from the history books of the OP world, and Teach is one of the few characters who knows that he's a descendent of those people. Rocks is probably also a descendent of that nation of people, and discovered their hidden history. He then set out to take over the world for the crimes that the world leaders exacted against his own people.
Other one piece characters are probably also unknowing descendents of the remnants of the erased civilization that existed before the void century. Who knows, maybe even the D is a direct correlation to a certain family lineage of powerful leaders within that civilization.
In your last videos comments, I made the connection between the story of One Piece, and it's lore with the real world events of the Moors, who were ultimately responsible for the real "pirate age". Their true history and identity has been altered and forgotten in scholastic history books. You have to go outside accepted academia in order to find out who these people really were, and what they did as traders, scholars, navigators and explorers in Europe, Afrika, Asia and the Americas, way before Columbus was even born. They also enslaved Europeans in Morocco centuries before the Atlantic slave trade. If Oda researches real world pirate history for inspiration for OP, then he's knows all about the Moors.
I'm thinking that Luffy's bloodline, Momo's Bloodline, and Ace's bloodline are the royalty of the void century of sorts. Those 3 family lines are the ones who have the voice of all. Oden and MOmo both had the voice of all, this implies it's family. It'd also make sense why Whitebeard wanted Ace to be the pirate king, cuz he possessed that trait that he, Marco, etc didn't have, despite being weaker than even Vista, he would get stronger over time and eventually be able to use that voice of all, and it's why he put so much faith in Luffy. Luffy has it, and you're crazy if you don't think dragon and garp had it.
They are distinctly above the will of D, the D might be everyone related to the leaders, while the leaders had it as well, while the top families had the special voice of all which allows them to make peace with all beings by getting rid of the communication barrier and is a major strength of Luffy's.
Never heard of the Moors before
I'm not surprised. Not many people have. It's not a history they like to teach about or even depict in modern media. The rare times that they do depict them, they look nothing like the real Moorish civilization. They were actually responsible for building the first two Universities in Europe. They are also the source of where Spain and Portugal received their ocean class ship technology, which allowed them to dominate intercontinental trade when the Moors were defeated and driven out of mainland Europe in 1491.
There are dozens of excellent books about the real and extensive history of the Moors, but they aren't really used in Westernized Universities and schools. Just like in the One Piece world, there are large parts of real world history that our worlds equivalent of the "Gorosei" generally do not want most people to know about. When most people do find out about the Moors and who they really were, they generally don't want to believe it anyway. They aren't the only civilization to suffer this fate in generally accepted world history. However they are the only ones, to my knowledge, who are very relevant to the fictional pirate themed world depicted in One Piece.
