Thank you for the honest review and the support. We did not speed up the new album at all, DJ is actually that fast of a drummer. The new songs were structured around the fact that he could play the songs so fast. This is just the beginning of a new chapter of Morbid Saint. Thank you again for all the support. STAY MORBID!!!
Thank YOU for still cranking out balls out honest Extreme Thrash!!! Oh, I can imagine DJ can play that fast. Coming from an 80s background, isn´t it amazing how musicianship evolved (especially the drummers) in Metal? The thing with the "speeding up" on the new album was more of a joke considering the history of "Spectrum..." hahaha... Somehow we´re lablemates, my old band Repent released two albums on High Roller. Steffen is a good guy, easy to work with. Keep up the good work and I´ll try to catch you live whenever you come back to Germany.
@@albertampel4175 Yes things have definitely evolved, in a good way. Steffen and Merlin have been great to work with and put out quality products. Thanks again and hopefully we will play a show near you in the future. 🤘🤘🤘
After thinking about it there are very few bands I've loved as quickly as Morbid Saint. Wish I discovered them earlier but better late than never! Spectrum Of Death, Destruction System and Swallowed By Hell are all great albums definitely worth owning imo.
Excellent Jürgen. Great band, do have it all apart from the demo tape. They did a great comeback as well, not all of the returning bands manage that. Hope for more nerdy videos in the future. Cheers. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Speaking of the Lock Up Your Children demo I was listening to an interview with Pat and Jim and they said a Morbid Saint superfan in Taiwan paid $600 for an original copy. Crazy amount to pay imo.
Hi Jurgen!!! So cool to hear your thoughts about Morbid Saint and see your collection too..... awesome stuff. I'm also super late to the party, don't remember ever hearing about them or seeing that album cover and also was a nice surprise/news reading about theie newest album and seeing good comments too. Btw "Spectrum of Death" looks awesome on that t-shirt. cheers and be well
You're not alone. I only found out about Morbid Saint earlier this year when Swallowed By Hell was released. Amazing album and after listening to the band's entire catalogue they've become my favorite band. Tremendous brutal Thrash🤘🏻
I did not know that! haha, I have that Spectrum of Death and it is a masterpiece. I love the artwork to that album, gives it even more balls!!! I despise modern production, big reason why I do not pick up to many new releases.
Yeah, underrated extreme Thrash classic. I was a bit late to the party but hey, better late than never!!! I love the artwork as well so I picked up the shirt, hahaha...
Spectrum is a killer underrated album so many awesome riffs 🤘🤘the new album is one of my favourite albums from this year. Test press was end of 2023 and officially released in 2024 I think
If you ever have the chance, get a copy of their second album! I had to get used to the more modern sound of the new one but the riffs, the speed, the songs, the delivery... all fantastic!
@@kapriizais8278 Did you buy the firts press from Germany? Our guitar player sold it some years ago, hahaha... True, the new one sounds a bit different but you just can´t reproduce the old stuff.
@@metalmartymac Spectrum Of Death is incredible. All of Morbid Saint's albums are available on all formats on High Roller Records. I highly recommend the Destruction System and Swallowed By Hell albums as well as the debut.🤘🏻
I love so much Spectrum of Death I never checked anything else by them. I bought the Century Media gatefold in 2016 but I sold it and got the High Roller reissue. I didn't know they sped up the demo tape. That's insane.
Great spotlight on Morbid Saint Jurgen! This is a band I've been meaning to check out, I've wanted to get into more of the extreme Thrash bands like Dark Angel, Demolition Hammer, Sadus and Morbid Saint. Dark Angel and Demolition Hammer I have ticked off the list but not the other 2. That first album I really need to take a look at, and I wouldn't mind trying the new one 🤘🏻🤘🏻

@SuperStrik9 well good for you for finding out about them.. I had an original copy but my collection got thrown away due to getting locked up about 10 years ago... Nice collection you have there. I think Spectrum of Death is a decent album. I was guilty of seeing it as a clone of early Kreator a while back and just ignored it. Comeback albums are a hard sell to me quite honestly.
I just came back to the band because you bought the reissue while staying here, hahaha... and startd to dig deep. The one in the middle is not really a comeback, it´s just a follow up from 1992. I think it´s even better than the debut. But I do get what you mean about the 2024 release.
Hahaha, I love Mike, we´re in regular contact. He learned a lot over the last couple of years. To his defense, he was out of the scene for decades because of normal life, family and other interests. A Justin Horval follower I assume- Justin a guy who mentions the same 10 bands (Deicide, Mortician, Nunslaughter, Sadistic Intent, Possessed, Mercyful Fate, King Diamond, Malevolent Creation, Cannibal Corpse, Attic) over and over again, all the time and a guy who couldn’t even recommend 3 bands to his audience that are put out on his and his brothers’ own label Hells Headbangers.
Perhaps explaining why it matters that I don't know Sadistic Intent when I've never expressed to be into underground bands would go along way to giving your comment some credibility. My name on here came from a TV show in the 80s it's nothing to do with music.
