Its just partly the engineer - it all starts with the roots: If a band has knows how to play, knows how give their instrument a concrete, good positioned sound and, nearly mostly important, knows to arrange and to build up a common sound with all instruments respecting each other and giving each instrument that space that it requires - then, yes then you have that very rare enjoyment that we have when we listen to this band and this mx in special. As a sound engineer in such cases its like: Make your P.A. sound, set up the mics, bring the faders up - and your job is done. It is done because such a very rare band like Coroner already brings the functioning build sound architecture done by themselve. :)

Yo igual.
The interesting thing is that they actually play it all with one guitar. Which is true even in the studio work. That's the unusual thing. They could have layered in a bunch of guitars, but they play it as a true three piece. I mean even Black Sabbath layered in tons of guitars in the studio. A part of their sound though is only the one guitar. That's certainly a challenge in a genre typified by guitar harmonies and solos over heavy riffs. Thrash with one guitar is not easy to pull off. So yeah, Tommy has to really work for it.
