- Originating from Eastern Finland like the world famous Genelec studio monitors, Nightwish is one of the most popular rock bands in the world with 6 albums selling millions of copies all over the globe. This video is filmed during the recording session of the upcoming Imaginarium album (and movie!) when the band was at Petrax studios in Finland, naturally with a set of Genelec DSP active loudspeakers on the mixing console. In the interview Tuomas Holopainen and Marco Hietala talk about composing, studio work and recording sessions in multiple locations - what works for them. Behind the desk the world renowned mixing engineer Mikko Karmila takes care that everything is stored according to the highest standards. Enjoy!

Alot of talent right there! I have no idea what i am doing but i want to make music and have little to no knowledge about music making but i jumped right into it and bought the Genelecs 8030a. Probably overkill for my use but what the hell.... i like good pure sound! :)

Nightwish is an absolutely outstanding band... a lot of people are always bitching about the whole Anette/Tarja situation, but personally either of the singers are fine with me because I've always really enjoyed Nightwish not so much for the singing, but for the musical production, the vast choirs, beautiful orchestra's, and the ripping of the guitars!
I really love when Tuomas is playing Heart asks Pleasure First...it's so magic and truly beautiful piece of music!:D :D I can't wait for new album!:))))I have my faith in those guys!:D

Nightwish sometimes amaze me so much that I doubt if there is a word to describe this feeling which you have during listening to their music.

You know, Within Temptation and Tarja released new albums few months before tour, so we can expect new album somewhere in october (?) when tour starts in january.

Marco gives a good description of the good that Genelec monitors can apparently do. A band like Nightwish should be working with only the highest-quality gear, of course :-) Looking forward to Imaginarium, album and movie alike!

They are the best for me!
They make the music that's actually great. Inspiring, deep and monumental. They don't make themselves commercial rockbandstars, They can rock music suit orchestra's power and mark the beauty of both. AND they're humans after all, people that have life except music too (and look sympathic XD). They seduced me into metal music just with fewteen seconds of one song I heard in TV and I love them for it.
