PS (Pun intended): I can actually hear how awesome that room is from the audio in this video: It is completely quiet, no echo etc. (Even with your limited mic)
Congrats 🍾 The room dimensions don’t appear overly large…I’m intrigued by the 3 seats ..as to have a wider sweet spot. Hopefully, next year at Toronto Audiofest..you’ll get a better room . Have a great week.😊
You remind me of my buddy joe. Always so happy to make other people happy about audio. It's a pleasure to hear you explain your audio experiences.. thanks ❤
Beautiful room, Paul! Congrats all at PS Audio! Looks so much more inviting than the previous all-white listening room. I must admit that I’ve been a bit stressed out of Paul’s hard line on nothing but amps between the speakers. Tried going with long XLRs from pre to amp (Mogami), and then back to all equipment (sources, pre and amp) between and behind (couple of feet) the speakers (but much lower than Paul’s new system)connected with some high end (shorter) XLRs, and the this latter setup was better to me. So, within limits, now I’d always go for the best XLRs over the idea of “sacred space” behind the speakers.
I think that the general rule is to not put equipment so high up in between the speakers that it affects the tweeter. Low down, parallel to the bass drives is fine.
For those, etc., I had to dial up about 4-5:1 compression to hear the remaining clap echo and even then it was something I would be happy with. I suspect it was the exact trade of dead vs live that Paul has always espoused.
Hi, Paul. I know it wouldn't be initially accurate. But could you record some of the Octave music using a Neumann Head just to give us a tiny taste of what that equipment sounds like? Fingers crossed!!!
isn't it a bit narrow? the width and hight seam pretty close to each other (maybe just the impression from video, but not even close to 1.6 golden ration)
I see what looks like absorption panels on the front wall. I remember you saying that you should only use diffusion on the front wall. What changed your mind?
Looks way better than the monotonous off white drab of the previous versions, What I would also sugest to you is you build a People first, coffee shop, room with a view / study as a space for better visitor experience and retreat for staff (with some rules so they dont take over), That can be configured for events and demos, but the HIFI takes a back seat to the lived environment. A more realistic setting and pleasant spend some time.
They are/were. Very curious now if the new studio upstairs is an extra or replacement. I thought they were running out of space not having the luxury of spare rooms…
$30-$40,000 is a small investment to do now rather than later let’s be fair, There’s probably a quarter of that with some of the gear sitting in that room still good work the listing room its there to make you guys money if it sounds good, that’s a bonus
Question. Is PS Audio a brand for rich people only ?. I find it hard to think that a regular bluecollar worker can afford any of the products without taking loans.

Great to see you still get excited about great sound! Congratulations on the new room.

I like it. Love the colours, warm and fresh looking. Cheers, Lee UK
Congratulations Paul, it looks great! 👌
Looks fantastic!!
It looks amazing!

Below the midbass driver I have heard is best, from an acoustics channel on youtube.
Reference but with gear between the speakers also realistic. That too is part of reference
I like the drop ceiling treatment.
A Drop Ceiling is

Colour is quite impressive

Speaking of Octave Studio, how is it going with getting Tori Holub or Trish Regan in the studio?
Interesting that a few yards less audio cable makes more of a difference than the qualified planning of an acoustic architect!
WOW!!!
I’m wondering about the dimensions…
Looks fabulous!
So what the status of Octave, I take it you are in the middle of a recording hiatus due to a move?
Are those the Diffusers from Acoustic Fields?
it is a stereo threatre

What happened to the old Octave Studio that you spent so much time and effort building a couple of years ago?
when do the ps audio subs get installed? April?
"Let's go up to the lab, and see whats on the slab"
Am I able to bring my own vinyl to have a listen?? If so it's Issac Hayes Hot Buttered Soul Craft Recordings remaster.
🖤glad to hear you're happy with the result Pop's..🤗 FR5 should shine there..🌅 can't wait to hear subs bumping that space..!🌋💢‼💢🌋 🌏✌& ♥
Have you for subs on the back wall?
G'day Paul. What a pity PS Audio is in the USA
Hi @Paul, I thought Octave Studios were in its own separate location/building?
They are/were. Very curious now if the new studio upstairs is an extra or replacement.

The Wood !
I'll come back when it is in Atmos 😆 just trollin...
Bit small isn't it?

hot red too
Does color affect sound?
You still using the Subwoofer at the back of the room Paul? I assume you have 🤔 The room is cozy and the colors are relaxing. Nice Job 💯👍

I find it hard to think that a regular bluecollar worker can afford any of the products without taking loans.
Congrats; sound sonics.
Though this means both the previous Octave Studios are history.
That was a lot of time & $$$!!!
Looking great ! Greetz Alex
