    brilliant one of the best anglers to watch and boy he gets around the country does James, real traditional fishing at one time that stretch would have been full of anglers, how time have changed.

    *These are easy to use and highly visible **enjoyable.fishing** recommend they are extremely valuable for going from a dead drift set up to a float setup. They save time and you don't have to re-tie everything to add a float to your presentation.*

    Absolutely loved watching you fish the church deeps section. There's something about watching an angler fish a swim that I myself have fished many times. never for roach or dace mind. Always for the barbel and chub.Brings back the memories. The only quibble if any, I have with fishing the deeps is parking up behind the shaws arms there and then having to treck all the down the side of the river carrying all your gear until you get to were your fishing and then back after..Just seems a long way down and back. But on on plus side, it's always worth it cause I've always seemed to catch more there then fishing near to were I parked up. And it's alot quiter to.

    Excellent video, gave me some very useful tips, I will be fishing the opposite bank over the next few months. I trotted it last week but it was difficult being 8 -10 foot deep. I now have some DH stick floats and more information about shotting pattern so hopefully will be a better presentation when I return.

    I don't tend to use a micro swivel when stick float fishing. Have experimented with a swivel when fishing a long range with wagglers, but never found the need with the stick.
    I attach my hoooklength when float fishing with a 'figure of eight' knot as I find this both the strongest and neatest knot. I'll try and include this knot in the next video and also explain about plumbing up.

    Hi Carl, no Jim Burton from Matchbox made it for me. Would be lost without it!

    For most of my float fishing I use our Shakespeare Superteam reel or the Mitchell Mag Pro Lite. I prefer an open face reel as they are more powerful and cast well. I will use a closed face ABU 506 in windy conditions or when targeting lots of small fish like dace / bleak.

      Exellent video if you guys want locations for your videos a plaice i recomend is Nethermill fisheries at pennistone Barnsley south yorkshire i love fishing there its got everything exept pike i think there may be a few barble in the lake plenty of F1 and all for £5 a day . Another good place to fish is worsborough resevoir at worsborough barnsley tickets £4 a day or around £30 - 35 for the year and that is stocked with very big bream and local takle dealers advise you to fish reel line of 10lbs low diameter to hook length of 3lbs low diameter to a size 18 hook for the feeder and cast about 30 yards.

    Hi James, brilliant video as usual. What knot do you use when connecting reel line to made up rig line ?

    James, to combat twist do you use a micro swivel on your rig's or do you just go loop - loop?
    Also can you show a video with a strong coloured stick float on how you go about plumbing up on a river, ie in front of you and as you go down the swim. thanks.

    James you say 4 number four in four foot of depth. Would current speed make you add more weight if it was very fast? So four to six feet but very fast, would you use a much bigger stick say 4 number 12. Or would you change to a Avon style float like you used on the Wye?
    Thanks/

    what float was that in early minutes of the video with a yellow tip?

    • @OnTheHookFishingTV
      @OnTheHookFishingTV  9 лет назад

      +Marek K. Hi Marek, Most of my floats have a yellow tip (or black), I'm colour blind and struggle to see any other colours! Think the float you ask about is a Drennan stick, they still make them and have a different coloured plastic base now.
