Nice vid - as ever. I wouldn't consider myself a beginner (certainly not an expert either) but these types of presentations always throw up something that's valuable. One question which proves the point. James mentions the main line is 4lb and then says the hook length 5lb. I always thought the hook length was the lesser of the two so that (theoretically) any breakages retain the main rig?
When they're similar in strength the mainline will almost always break second, as it has so much more length to stretch, whilst the hooklength is a lot shorter so cannot stretch nearly as far
How do all the things that ‘help you control the float’ help? This video isn’t informative; I want the knowledge to know when a bolo is more suited to a situation than a stick or Avon; I want to know why a Crystal waggler won’t present my bait as well or be ‘harder to control’

Fantastic video, I would be very thankful if you could make a more detailed video on releasing the line down the river...
Thanks James very informative !!
Great tutorial lads!
Great advice as I've not been fishing long. Can I fish a waggler on a river .

Hi James. What make are the floats you were showing apart from the loafer please.
Nice vid guys!
Should I use a stick float or an Avon float on small streams? Thanks 😊.
You can try both, much depends on the power of the flow. Lighter flow use a stick, more powerful flow try an Avon for added stability up top.
@@cadencefishinguk Thanks 🙏
5lb hook-length on 4lb main...I thought it was supposed to be the other way around? Maybe I misunderstood. Thanks for vid.
Excellent.
