- What does gated reverb mean? In this episode of the Audio Laboratory, we learn about a classic sound design technique, where we add a large reverb to a sound, but only play it in short bursts. This adds the excitement of big reverb to our sound, while also staying snappy and rhythmic!

Beat bunny - "On the money". Cheers cap. Pssst.... its the phil collins curse. The story of its discovery is legend. (Apparently, anyway). Isnt it the "door left open, sound bleeding into booth, desk mic with noise gate triggered reverb?" Lol
I miss the time when things like this were explained on real hardware devices. Not just with mouse clicks.
Mouse clicks are available to most people these days. Reaper is so cheap and incredibly powerful. Hardware FX OTOH...sound great but the good stuff is prohibitively expensive
@@GuidoGautsch very true, as much as we want to use real hardware, it’s just too expensive these days
