On a recent trip to my local Goodwill store, I scored a matching set of over $500 worth of BRAND NEW NEVER USED Pfaltzgraff dishes in the Acadia pattern for only $40! I was in the market for a new set of every-day dishes and I hit the jackpot!
I have the haviland blue garland pattern dishes. My husband's aunt and uncle gifted us with a set when we got married 33 years ago and since then we have added to the set by finding pieces at goodwill and estate sales etc.and now have a rather large set. It is such a pretty pattern. 😍
I remember shopping with great aunt in LA at Bullock's....best memories! I bought all of my back to school clothes for my freshman year of high school there..
The fingertip doilies are beautiful. I didn’t know what those were. I have a few and I have topped jars filled with lavender bath salt to give to friends. I love anything with a monogram and especially when I find an S because that’s mine as well.
Oh wow! Some Goodwill stores do overprice. Though, it is up to the person pricing and some treasures slip through for steals. Have you shopped Goodwill Online? I have several segments on this.
@@LadyMaryBeth I saw the thumbnail on one of those videos when I discovered your channel yesterday. Looking forward to watching them as I do my household chores. You've inspired me to be on the hunt this summer for a crystal vase.
I just L❤️VE your videos!!! Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions for using some of the items. You are very professional and present yourself with a lot of class. Excellent!❤️
It's me again...lol😂❤ I think you are like us for sure. I need another storage for all of these things that we love. This is a great haul. Of course it is and you cant get all of this anywhere for under 100.00. That is a great idea about gifts. We always keep everything!😂😁👏
Wow! I'm amazed. Never do you find those Waterford items here in Detroit area. We also don't have charity shops not decent resale stores. Wish we did though.
The key is to go often to find hidden gems. Follow the carts as they restock shelves. Have found Waterford this way. You can also shop goodwill online. Lots of treasures! Look for several videos on my channel about this best kept secret shopping. 🛍
I also try & have a table cloth, towel or linens to throw over the items in my cart, with treasured finds. This is to reduce the chance that If I get distracted or leave my buggy at the end of a tight aisle, & then start looking at other pieces of crystal or China, I don’t want to have another shopper come along & poach a special piece that I selected, from my cart! Crazy enough, this type of poaching has happened several times at different resale or consignment stores!
How can I, as a Waterford “lover from a distance” even Begin to have the eye to recognize it in the wild? Would you recommend any websites or books to help educate? Thank you
I will feature in a future segment. There are some signs to identify Waterford. Look for the 16 cuts on the bottom of many stem patterns and vases. The acid etched stamp is usually on the underside. Love the “in the wild’ comment. Great to hear from you! 💚
@@LadyMaryBeth ... yes, please make this video when you have the opportunity. Being a collector of it since 1989, I usually can spot it but I have a strong, sinking suspicion that I'm missing more out there than I realize.
@@LadyMaryBeth I used to go with my grandparents to Franklin... antiquing. It took 56 years for her to complete her dining room set. They lived in 2 log houses and filled with antiques. The Christley's now live in a street over from the last one they built.
Good you know how to identify your crystal. Love watching and learning.🥰

“I don’t need another cake stand” 🤣

Great haul, thanks for sharing, stay safe and have a blessed day.
Wow, awesome finds. I find the prices of Goodwill and other chain thrift stores are quite high in the Chicago- land area. Sometimes close to retail!!

An amazing truly economical haul!
Awesome bargain buys!
Found a beautiful crystal rose bowl. It now sits on my guest bathroom vanity offering tissues. I love it. Thank you for the wonderful suggestion.

Hi Mary
Thank you so much I am enjoying very much your Chanel
I would love to see all the China you have.
75% off?!?! My local thrift stores don’t offer 75%, only 50%. And the prices have become ridiculous, sometimes higher than the discount stores.

I grew up in Belle Meade. Do you live in the Nashville area?
I live in Houston, Texas. We visit family in Franklin several times a year. Love the Nashville area! ❤️
