This is a great point. EVE content is really broad because the game is so huge and varied. Like yes you CAN min/max a flavor of the week fit and follow the herd... or you can do whatever seems fun at the time. I recently heard someone say in a stream "EVE is a game about the practical application of bad ideas" and I think that pretty much sums it up. I actually have a meme fit Astero that everyone would make fun of me for but I haven't lost one since 2020 so it is really good at it's primary function: keeping me alive in sketchy territory. Like yes its expensive and ridiculous, but it gets the job done. Anyway just wanted to say I appreciate your content, don't let the haters get you down o7

This is what I love about Eve, want to passive shield tank a sigil, sure go ahead you can create a ship that people will spend 30 minutes and a marauder or two trying to kill.
You give "guidance" and then is up to us to experiment and have fun 😃 and there is always nuggets of gold and laughs in your videos rambling included!

I think it is fantastic when skilled and/or clever/creative players are able to find fits that allow various hulls to perform well in ways that defy traditional thinking, or possibly even intended purposes. That suggests brilliant game development in my view. At the end of the day, you are the one who pays your subscription fee each month (assuming Omega), so you, and only you, should decide how you enjoy playing the game. If your fun per hour doesn’t conform to some one’s else’s traditional thinking, so what. I enjoy being challenged to think outside the box. That’s why I love this channel. o7 Capt. Benzie.

I am currently flying a Procurer for 2 months now and I use it for Hi-Sec Densed Veldspar mining while taking out rats with my 14 attack drones and I only use 1 salvage drone for salvaging, and 1 mining drone for mining. Now the Procurer is a very slow ship, but it's amazing when orbiting rats in combat. Overall I really like the ship for its looks and the fact that it shoots smoke like a true mining machine. Looking forward to try out the other mining ships and haulers. My New Eden life as an Industrialist is actually a lot of fun because of the way I mine in the game. I actually don't stay in one place and I always pick the asteroid belts that are over +2.00 AU because you do find some rare ore and bigger rats for PvE action. Anything closer to the Stargate are either empty, or contain Veldspar that has only condensed grade and lower. Overall, I finally found my place in this game and I love it.

Personally I think you've always made it abundantly clear that you're not trying to present some kind of meta and it's all about doing what YOU think is fun. Don't give the negativity too much energy, it only takes a couple videos to see what the channel is about. Play the game you want to play ✌️

Very well said sir! I feel like you have made it very clesr in past videos that we should find our bliss si to speak in eve. I always feel like your vidros have been fantastic GUIDELINES and suggestions when it comes to playing eve. What i have lesrnec most from your videos is to find what i want to do to enjoy the game. As as example i trained into the Cheetha with the understanding that sooner or later i will take my last two scanning skills to 5 and not need the buffs as much but i will ALWAYS want to run away fast. I learned form your experince and took it into my play style and desire in the game. This is a very good video! Thanks for reiterating this. I dont know why people feel the need to be asshats, i guess it comes down to the safety of being a keyboard warrior, talking trash. Trash talking is a waste if time overall IMO.

Good advice here! I always take my goal, see what does it best, and work my fit around it. Passive shield legion for Angel ratting? Yep, heresy, but it worked really well!

I had a look to see if there was anything but couldn't see it.
A video on politing mechanics would be awesome, and methods to start improving, like when to approach/orbit/keep in range.
Also I know there is a direct control type thing, I saw there is a way to change the default orbit distance, is there the same for the keep distance?
Anyway, thanks again. I still haven't found what content I like, I'm trying to explore all the content partially by doing AIR career stuff before being railroaded away from certain content by joining a corp.
Explore and try new things! That is the way, and find a good corp early on!
I've covered some manual piloting in other videos and yes you can set a default Keep At Range. I have mine set to 150km usually so I can just beeline away when needed

Cool vid. Don't forget venture resist to warp scram disrupt. Still use the prospect for ore hold as you point out. Do occasionally lose them but that is the payoff. Thoughtful comments. O/

Speaking of adjusting your fits: one of the first thing I do with all of your HAM fits is switch to Heavy Missiles. Yes, I know I'm missing out on DPS, but I that 35sec reload time makes me twitchy.
Much like an unbookmarked MTU. 😂😂😂
I'll try to add a web or target painter to my Heavy fits, just to get some of that application back.
HAMs have a 10s reload. It's Rapids that have the 35s reload 😘

I loved this video. There are emotions towards ships, they are like cars in real life. Example I saw a Sunesis coming out of Gallente University...ohhh i wanted it so bad wss sooooo cool. Four years later i still fly it as much or more than any other ship. I can do about anything with it, combat is not best but that makes it more interesting. My alt never flys one ....Fleet Thrasher yes constantly but as auto cannon, it does one thing well like a chainsaw.

Everyone have a unique kind of play style. Before this I would have not thought that when I am in cormorant can fight head to head with a vexor, unfortunately made the wrong move and lost the ship. Then the corax vs Vigil fleet issue. I have never felt really proud (well after so many ships lost). So whatever fit I saw or save, I would tweak it more in order to suit my play style. Just my two cent... fly safe, happy hunting and for the STATE!!!!

Just an idea for adding on to the thought process espoused: Regarding the Venture vs. Endurance comparison, Eve is sort of a multi-layered onion/cake to peel apart. They may be same for yield at an initial glance (not in game at moment to doublecheck apologies if wrong) but the consideration for the player might also be along the terms of what changes the value of the two ships? For instance the Venture is hands down better for the gas role when you are in danger of being stalked by other players for loss reduction options and lesser loss if it goes boom but if the player is less concerned about getting caught for whatever reason the expedition frigates have more capacity for the yield meaning more time on the target/yield over time due to less need to warp off to unload safely (if a station is nearby) etc etc on top of which other consideration variables might throw the favor back and forth between the two ships.
Even then, in Venture VS Prospect, I'd rather use my Prospect than a Venture in Wormholes because the cloak allows me to move around unseen. So if dangerous space is the concern, even then there are reasons to use the Prospect AND the Venture! 😊

I do the same thing with L4 mission running. I fly things I like flying rather than the best thing (OK with possible exception of the Kronos which I like AND is just objective great) I have a lot of ships I have fitted and used despite there being better ships. I have a mission running Ferox I use because I like the hull and have a pretty skin and think that rails make a pretty noise - even though there are better ships - so many better ships. "I'm just having fun" that.

Always be critic. Recently a corpmate point me to the fact that all hunters now use faction scrams ad that on a covop T2 having a warp stab now is useless. I had to give him a big thanks even if to me warp stab was Bible

I had never done abyssals and got a filament as a daily award. I got curious and looked up abyssal guides like yours. I had to modify the informationt to fit my preffered ships and playstyle. (I still don't understand why people buy filaments after getting started. They drop in nearly every abyssal run, maybe they get really specific in what types of abyssals they run at the higher levels?)
It's just ease of getting just the filaments they want, I guess
They're running a specific type that matches their current fit. You're not always guaranteed the same type. For instance, if I'm running Firestorms in a Thermal fit, there's no guarantee I'll get another Firestorm as a drop. There's also the idea of not depending on a RNG. If I can have 10 in my hold & just run back-to-back, I will. HTH!

Copying the fits can work, but this is definitely a game where half the fun is tweaking the fits you find to be slightly better

Ive been having IMMENSE fun running a Sniper Beam Fit Oracle for L4s, yes I could run an Apoc but dear god the Oracle is just too gorgeous to just spin in my hangar.
I get youre biased against Amarr completely understandable, but if you ever wanna try something different in PVE try it out!
The Oracle is a cool ship, I just don't think it'll work for J-Space due to application, but it's on the list to try eventually!!

It's an Nvidia GeForce 4070 RTX.
Thrasher Fleet has 3 Lows, one more than Standard, allows a Gyrostabilizer to increase the Alpha plus CPU is slightly larger. Also Base Shield is 500 more than Standard.

I'm quite fond of T1 ships, who cares if you lose it, it costs nothing, the disadvantage matters a lot less in game when the price difference is 50:1

i think biggest mistake people are doing in regard of ships/fit choice is not taking your own skills into consideration. what makes a ship/fit work for one, dosent necessary means are the best ship/fit for you

This whole "lower tier ships are a lot cheaper" deal ive commonly seen reffered to as "isk tanking" - ESPECIALLY in the indie scene, if a ship is destroyed after it paid for itself? Youve broken even. And sure. Say, an exhumer is gonna be harder to kill and draw in more money in the sake timeframe.
But a venture is balls cheap. If youre going dangermining for instance, the venture may make more money per isk spent on the various hulls youll end up losung.
ISK Tanking is a great term!
As someone who just stepped up the Drake ladder with the Alligator being released, I can say its impressive how each felt different.
Drake still has its niche for having high Regen and high Range, sometimes you kinda want that (PvE)
DNI is like the Drake with PvP in mind, its really agile and still the best vessel for LowSec Ratting because of that, also the only ship not relying on Resistance+Regen and more on raw BufferHP making polarized builds an option. Those even outshine the DPS of other polarized Drakehulls.
Alligator is huge upgrade when it comes of being Regen-tanked compared to the Drake. Also the Drones offer AFK missioning.
Nighthawk is a beast and overall the strongest, it blasts through L4s and is a fortress in PvP. Its T2 resists make it the best for tanking via Buffer or Regen. Its DPS is only matched by polarized DNI. Also the extra space for fitting and the bigger cargo makes things really neat. My new favorite ship in EVE.
