Your right, I am beautiful 😂, looks pretty dangerous when your undertaking your many passing manoeuvres old boy. Most impressive. Great your taking part and competing for top places in all these events too, having fun and I can enjoy it all from the comfort of my sofa 😂.
Might do a couple of press ups later.

Gatehouse was my home town & I grew up cycling those tracks with my mates. As you've discovered, punctures are pretty common and can ruin your day. Also, if it's dry like that, you don't need anything like as grippy a tyre as you & most other people use. If you have another go in similar conditions, I'd recommend you use the sort of set up we used to use which was a puncture resistant commuter type tyre like Schwalbe Marathon Plus or even Brontranger H2 Hard Case Lite Hybrid with a liner like the Mr Tuffy Bicycle Tire liner. You'll be a bit slower when you're going but you're much less likely to puncture and lose a ton of time. Also, try to avoid crossing from one side of the track to the other, the nasties are often in the middle.

Hi mate thanks for the comment!! It was my first time visiting Gatehouse as an adult it was beautiful, I was really trying to take in the epic scenes in the way round in between breathing out my eyeballs. Really appreciate advice I’ll put it to good use next year for sure 🙏🏻
