I am very happy you brought attention to this problem. I too heard about the situation and was upset by it. I find it upsetting how the dogs are only considered as "property". It makes no sense. If you harm some other animal that isn't a sled dog, it's animal cruelty, but not for a sled dog? It's like the dogs are treated like they are only there because they have a job, and not treated as a companion or regular animal. I'm sorry, but I just think that's wrong. Plus, that is technically "labeling" which is just wrong in general.
Chimpanzees are considered property as well. All animals are considered property in the United States. Animals in the wild s of the United States are considered property of the United States Government. Regardless of what this video states your cat is considered a property. I am the owner of Snoopy who was castrated and drug from his chain to my neighbors yard where he was shot in the head. He was only one year old Dojo Mastiff....this happened two weeks after my my husky wolf was taken from his chain and beat to death with a bat by the same man. If the Alaska state trooper would have done their jobs and arrested this man for entering my home with weapons to kill me and my girlfreind. My two dogs would still be alive! How do we fight this horrific injustice and violence? I ask anyone who is willing to take our case, to step up and keep sick people from killing our animals! Who are in fact, our family members!
I'm only like 10 and I already know what horrible people are in the world, and laws. I went back to this video because Me and some other people saw a video of someone who had sled dogs and they were keep outside with changes and one even had a scar like things on his face!
