- Madisynne lives with a vascular anomaly that causes a facial difference and impacts the way she communicates. She waves at people when they stare, but others often respond by looking puzzled or confused. Whenever somebody does wave back, Madisynne excitedly tells her mom, "They said hello to me!"

I went to school with a guy with the same diagnosis. He’s now married, has a beautiful family and a son, and a great career. That gorgeous girl has a bright and amazing future ahead of her!!
Me too. In NJ? He was a nice guy and just wanted friends. I was never in any classes with him so we never really crossed paths but I’d see him around the halls.

@jeremybyington I have close friends and a Christian community that helps me. Literally the only thing that keeps me grounded and alive is my faith. It was a lot worse in my teens and twenties, but I am better at managing it now. I know not to keep it bottled in when it's too intense.

I'm so thankful for these videos. I've raised my 11 year old and 7 year old daughters watching sbsk. In hopes of showing them that are so many people with differences out there that shouldn't stop friendships etc. Because of this, my daughters have made some amazing friends that she may not have met otherwise.
I unfortunately don’t have children, but it occurred to me that I would likely do the same. I’d certainly hope my kids would wave back and play rather than look puzzled, and I think these videos would help in achieving that. Good job 👍

I watch these with my kids as well, I think the videos can help kids understand that people who look different or act a bit different have feelings just like them. Also to de stigmatize different conditions not just for children but adults too. Been watching sbsk for quite a few years now, I love how much of a goofball Chris is with the kids he interviews ❤️
She made me laugh when she said "I'm not going to beat him up" to her mom. Great girl with a great attitude. I wish her the best and happy life.

They are far from perfect, but they are kind, which is more important than anything else I work with people with disabilities though, so they are exposed to all different Kind of people. I think that makes all the difference.
@@futoooob You seem to know my kids.....or you're just a negative troll - which is it? I work with lots of people that have disabilities and/or different looks, so my kids learned to interact with them as they would with anybody else.

My cheeks were actually hurting. I didn't realize I was watching and smiling the whole video. What a sweet girl. She seems so astute, especially for her age. She's going to grow up beautifully. She's already very strong.

I watch a lot of these interviews, and I’m always left with something to think about, but I am very struck by the love and chemistry between this mother and daughter. I don’t have any daughters but I do have 3 sons and I want to commit to treating them with as much love and respect as this mom treats her wonderful daughter. Wow.
Her brother is absolutely beautiful too. What a beautiful family. Mum you are raising such wonderful children.

It hurts my heart to think that people would be put off by a facial difference, and miss out on how wonderful she is. My prayer for is that no one will ever make her feel sad or less than because she is herself.
You guys are doing so much good, diminishing stereotypes about awesome, curious and warm folks like Madisynne.
I disrespect people who are proud of their cynicism, but sometimes it rears it's lazy head in me too, and videos like this - people like you guys - remind me that it's all about warmth and love, no more, no less, as tough as it gets.

Madysinne is such a cute, clever girl! So vibrant and really nice.
It's so good to see how her lymphatic malphormation was greatly reduced! And that she doesn't have any other associated diagnosis.
Her mum and family have given her a loving environment as we can see, that's so important!
Eventually, she can have a few more surgeries to be able to breathe in the most comfortable and safest way possible and also be able to feed herself. Her speech will improve when the right time for those surgeries comes, there's no need to rush.
I feel she's going to achieve many goals!

When the Mom and the little girl were talking about having 5 friends, it just broke my heart. I can just imagine how it must feel for that beautiful little girl to wave hello to another kid and get ignored back. It must break the mother's heart in pieces to have to pretend everything is okay in front of her daughter, when the little girl is upset because she was ignored. It really bothered me when the mom said that anyone that says hello back gets counted as a friend. That precious girl deserves all the friends in the world. What a strong Mom and little girl.

i absolutely LOVE that the mom is giving her all the options she could need for speech and communication! oftentimes kids are forced to just speak, but she chooses to on her own along with signing and her tablet! very sweet family 😊
I have the same diagnosis although my "tumor" is smaller and fortunately I have no speech problems. Kids can be spiteful and not accept "otherness" but the older I got the easier it was to relate. Now I'm 36, I have a husband with whom we are thinking about adopting kids, a great job, and friends who are very much okay with how I look. I wish you much patience and best of luck!
