How on earth can a system allow a second child to be shaken and brain damaged after knowing those bio parents disabled their first child in the same way?! Absolutely disgusting. Once a parent has abused a child, they should never be able to have another child again.
Yeah and this lady had FIVE There really be some sort of birth control program/ education program for these moms. They aren’t able to keep ANY of their kids so why keep popping them out??
You heard this mother: full of excuses for the father "never knew love, never had a family..." But how many of us never knew love, were abused and had a terrible upbringing... but we would never hurt anyone let alone a baby! I can never understand this 😧
I had to go back to watch her again because all I could see the first time was how lovingly his father was watching him. He would smile, but when Bryce looked away, that smile saddened a bit. They both seem like incredible people who have raised smart, kind and honest children. My husband and I are hoping to have a child, and this couple sets a high bar for parenting. I have so much respect for them.
Dad's dark humor is completely normal & appropriate - I can't imagine the rage this man must feel or have felt at times towards the birth father. They have made a miracle of a tragedy.
I absolutely agree, I’m sure he holds back how painful this is for him. It’s not easy for some men to show their emotions and I hope he has an outlet. Self care is so important for all parents, but even more so for a special needs child. I’ve had a life threatening autoimmune disease since I was 16 which has been a struggle for a long time. I’ll be 42 this Sunday and I had to move home in 2017 when I couldn’t work. My health was rapidly declining and I was diagnosed with a third autoimmune. Some mornings my blood pressure is so low that I can’t even get out of bed to get water and take medication. My mom is approaching seventy and I try to remind her to care for herself. We should have our roles reversed where I take care of her and help her out.
@@Ydce1891 Thank you for sharing your story - I also live with my mom (who is 71); been with her about 6 years. I'm in recovery from PTSD; definitely nowhere near what you're dealing with but I understand the sentiment you're expressing about caregiving. I believe it goes both ways, and that love is a healing force unto itself. Take care of yourself & your sweet mom!
@@Ydce1891 Sorry to pry, but is the blood pressure thing while sleeping a common trait of autoimmune diseases? I don't have insurance to get checked, but an old doctor and several friends with various autoimmune diseases have suggested I have Crohn's but I'm older now and it's seeming more like something like Fibromyalsia. One trait I've had since I was a young adult is my blood pressure getting so low that they even called a crash cart when I was staying at a mental health facility (for other issues), because they couldn't get a reading doing vitals at night. It tends to get below 50bpm these days, but I'm not as "dead asleep" as I usually get due to my mattress lol. Just curious, as I'd not heard that before. Thank you for sharing. I hope you're doing better and you're right that everyone needs some self-care. I hope your mother is doing well, too. :)
the cameraman was so sweet to play with him. this was such a heartwarming video. bryce is such a smart boy and i hope the people who did this to him and his siblings never find peace.
They already don't have peace. If they had peace, they would not have done such violence. Wouldn't it be better if they had peace so they would stop succumbing to violence?
I have shaken baby syndrome but luckily for me my case was not severe like this. I may have sustained brain damage resulting in behavioral issues, and my eyesight got wrecked (i have an extremely high prescription) but otherwise am an extremely high functioning victim. Kudos to these parents for taking care of Bryce. ❤
I kinda wonder if I might have it as well, I was adopted as a baby and my vision has always been wrecked too, my adoptive parents were very secretive when I asked about my biological parents, so I’m wondering if I might have been a victim of shaken baby syndrome before they adopted me.
@kairoxso016 ❤ glad you are well and healthy and things turned out well for you!! Very happy to hear that. I am very sorry you had to endure that as an innocent baby, even if you don't remember any of it, I am still very sorry and I wish I could do something to make it where it never happened.
@@elizabeths8768 did you watch the video? That baby is loved. And so are the other two kids. These people did not do it for money. I'm sure that baby needed a lot of attention when they brought him home and no amount of worry and sleepless nights has a dollar value. These people are kind and loving people who opened their home to children who needed love. And I think that is the most fulfilling act; to love someone who desperately needed it and heal their soul.
The parents joke about Bryce being happy and easy to soothe, but i think they are likely underplaying their direct role in fostering an environment where he can thrive. This family is full of so much love, you can see the joy and connection that everybody shares.
I have no kids, but I rescue dogs. The main thing is have a comfortable, safe space where the dog feels secure. Once they’re safe and have a food source, they usually thrive and become great pets. Humans aren’t much different, just more complex, but we need a good “pack” to have the best chance at life.
The world is full of angels. They just don’t look like you would expect. Some come disguised as whiskered old men, some as housewives and some like these folks here
i immediately broke down in tears when he asked bryces sister what her favorite things to do with him are and she said "eat with him", after the mom just told us about the sister being neglected when she was younger by ways of not eating........
When they asked her what she loves to do with her family, her first response was eat too... Like they said, this is a compulsion for her, it's heartbreaking
hi I love kids to I meant to say and I feel sad for your son but it's great that your his parents to cause he seems really happy now he is lucky in that way it's good that he has a good family now by
Why were the "parents" not in PRISON after they inflicted life-long brain damage on their first son? I'm serious it's as if our society views children as subhuman. Crimes against children rarely lead to anything approaching justice
Just the fact that they had indeed 5 children (3 of them adopted by this family, but they said they took care of all 5 at some point even if it was for a short period of time), all of them wounded one way or another... Like, what? I know there is no parent license but I'm seriously considering it a need; not only because jail (which sounds fair) means they've already done something maybe irreversible to a child, but because imagine them trying to surf through society as such ******* individuals. Genes load the gun, but it is the environment and/or yourself the ones that trigger it (basic development psychology 101). So, sorry if I sound harsh, but there is NO excuse for them whatsoever.
Seeing Bryce sitting beside his brother, and while his older brother talks to Chris, Bryce is cuddling the toy doll and gently patting it on the back and stroking it - a child treated so cruel by people in his past but able to be so so compassionate - a truly amazing little man 🤍
I noticed that, too, and was also touched. Once I saw that he has a younger brother, it made me think that he learned that from watching his parents care for the baby. So sweet.
My heart breaks for these kids who are abused and neglected by parents. All kids should be loved and respected for what they are. Its not their fault they were born to uncaring parents.
And those uncaring parents themselves were once Bryce - they were also born to uncaring parents who were born to uncaring parents… and etc. God why 😭😭😭
@@Afriqueafriquefullthis is how generational trauma cycles happen and why they have happened over centuries in each of our family's lineage. Because they didn't have the resources that we do now to teach us on how to be better and understand our behavioural patterns better as well as having counselling/mental/physical health help that we do today, compared to the past where it wasn't really there.
Bryce's 16 year old brother brought tears to my eyes. What a wonderful young man he is. Hearing him say he'll work with Bryce until he understands what he is trying to say because he "doesn't want him to feel bad about not being able to communicate" just made me love him! He truly is such an exceptionally kind and awesome teenager who is going to be a spectacular young man, and so handsome too! It's so great to see such a quality teenager!
I agree 100%, “many thanks” to his parents for raising such a caring, loving, compassionate and empathetic young man 👏🏻…..Teenagers like this are very far and few in today’s society.
I couldn’t agree more. This 16 year old is a wonderful, compassionate and, most importantly, loving young man who is an inspiration and one day will make an amazing father.
The way Bryce just watches his parents and siblings speak, so sweet, he knows this is his family, he knows he is loved, he knows his story is being shared, and you can tell the love he has for his family
I absolutely loved how when Chris started singing the song, "Bryce is Awesome ", not only did Bryce's face light up, he immediately signed friend. He absolutely knows. What a beautiful child!❤
I was wondering this!! I left another comment about it. But I wasn't sure if he was signing or attempting to. This makes me so happy. Because it just shows how resilient and strong the amazing Bryce is.

@@ryna03 It's not "stirring things up" to voice a different opinion. Not everyone wants children - you said that yourself. Many people who were caretakers for younger siblings in their own youth choose not to, for that very reason. A little empathy wouldn't hurt you.
Amazed at the empathy and patience the mom had to listen and understand the biological parents. It does not justify what happened, it just simply explains it. Even though he has done horrible things, I hope the bio dad can learn how to deal with his issues so no one else gets hurt. Those children did not deserve what happened
@@annataymond9529 If he didn't learn how to heal his issues, that would reflect in his behavior which then manifested in the abuse. He should have never been allowed to parent a child after what he did without extensive psychological help.
The way his Dad describes Bryce as a happy, easy baby breaks my heart all the more. He was an easy to soothe, happy baby, but his bio parents still hurt him. They stole a lot from him. And now his family is giving him all they can, that’s so touching. May he always find happiness.
Seeing how happy and relaxed Bryce is, and how emotionally intelligent the older children are about Bryce's needs (i.e., trying to understand his communication so Bryce doesn't feel bad about his communication challenges) speaks volumes about the quality of the couple's parenting. There is so much empathy and love in this family and Bryce is obviously flourishing because of it. :)
I agree. Even though he has trouble verbally communicating, he is very intelligent. That's because he has parents and siblings that care about what his needs are.
As a primary school teacher and father of a son whose first birthday I celebrated today, your video caught me off guard. I'm currently sitting here in front of my computer and preparing my lessons. My son is now lying in bed and cuddling with his mother. I know very well from my work that not all children are blessed with parents who are able to take appropriate care of their children. But such cruelty still brings tears of anger to my eyes. We have foster parents in our circle of friends and know what a big task it is to take responsibility for a traumatized child. I live in Germany and cannot make a qualified statement about whether our social network is better at supporting children or not. But I know that no system, no matter how good it is, can replace a loving family. Dear Rogers family, you are heroes.

Hearing the "non-graphic" description from the mom and dad was one of the most difficult things I have ever heard. The lack of graphic detail is the most graphic detail imaginable. I wish this beautiful family nothing but the best. I cried my eyes out, and will think of them often.
You ever heard the phrase "an in-group which laws protect, but do not bind and an out group which laws bind, but do not protect" ? That's our legal system in a nutshell at this time. The whole thing is set up to be "tough" on petty crime committed by "disposable" humans (minorities, homeless people, the mentally disabled), punish those who would financially harm monetary interests, and keep the workers in line and afraid. That's why rapists and child abusers get months, a few years... or probation if they're a rich, white college boy but homeless mom Tanya McDowell got 5 years for sending her kid to the "wrong" school. Madoff got over a century and died in prison for hurting well-to-do people's wallets (yes, he also screwed over regular people, but that alone wouldn't have gotten him in trouble), while Congress is full of millionaires who built entire industries and careers on bleeding companies dry, declaring bankruptcy, and making sure that the executives walked out the door with millions while regular workers lost their houses. Why would child abusers get massive sentences when the government doesn't even care enough about children to protect their lives by reining in the gun nuts? Or making sure that they are all fed, housed, and have health care access?

I didn't really like that comment tbh. There's no right way to shake a baby. I know I can't relate to their situation but it didn't sit right with me. I'm probably missing something
@@motownJUNK99 I see what you are saying. But "shaken the right way," to me, is a way of saying they embrace everything about Bryce, and that includes his disability. To an extent, all adoptive families have to process this kind of thing. Because in order to become that family, something horrible had to happen in the child's family of origin. So you're thankful and happy for everything that child is, and that they're your child, but you can't ignore the tragedy that made it possible. If you have a way to get ahold of the parents, I strongly recommend they reach out to their SLP or caseworker on getting him an AAC communication device. It’s perfect for kids like him that have receptive language but not verbal language to be able to respond in a way that works for them.

I can't believe the dad isn't facing charges for attempted murder or something, let alone STILL HAS RIGHTS AND CUSTODY TO THE CHILDREN?! I'm sorry, i can't see a world where that is acceptable. If he has been capable of the abuse one he can be again, all our system is doing is failing these children. Seeing their abuser regularly has to continue to hurt them mentally in some capacity, even if he's being monitored and can't hurt them physically. Once they're adopted they should have full custody and rights
He has been in jail for a little bit now. Still waiting for trial, keeps getting postponed. he has been in jail since 2021. But unfortunately our justice system sucks and he can't be charged for attempted murder apparently
It's great she was able to see the empathetic side of the father's story, BUT....I grew up in fosterhomes since age 1. Probably over 20 homes as well. Until I aged out. I became a single mom and was in abusive relationships. I'm now a divorced single mom...I've NEVER SHAKEN ANY OF MY 3 CHILDREN.
Agreed, there’s absolutely no excuse or justifiable reason for what the biological parents did to those sweet babies. They’re monsters and need to be locked up.
I can maybe see accidentally injuring a baby by being too rough out of sleep deprivation + frustration lapse of judgement, but the fact that it was so severe, and then happened a second time????
These parents are totally top quality people. Just hearing their story of adoption and listening to their biological kids talk about Bryce shows what a great job they have done raising their children. God bless this family ❤
@ 8:45 When the mother says "baby", Bryce laughed & held the babydoll against his mom. He knows what is going on, absolutely; beyond that adorable gaze at whomever is speaking. Had a cousin similar although not shaken, being born in early 70's, an era where automatically assumed to be hopeless; as a kid doctors, schools, etc. didnt believe he was even able to comprehend & communicate-- until he was given a device much like a 20th century tablet, it confirmed he indeed was.
I’ll bet anything that having a loving home with the support he needed, is what helped Bryce to thrive and make so much developmental progress. This couple deserves the world for taking such good care of these babies and loving them so much.
It’s always cycles of abuse and neglect 😢 as she says, it doesn’t make it right or ok but it’s very normal (for the abused to abuse) and very common. This couple is such a blessing for all of these children ❤
@@crystalw8050I don't think that is the case all the time. A lot of time people actually want to be the opposite of their parents. Me and my husband were both abused growing up, both verbally and physically. We always said we would be better than our parents. It is shocking to me that they had to start an entire ward for shaken baby syndrome. Thank goodness that families like this exist and I only hope that society can find ways to somehow address this.
My daughter was born on Thanksgiving day and they didn't announce the mandatory shaken baby class I had to take with my first baby. It worried me for the babies that day

I used to work in a Medical Examiners Office. One case that has always stuck with me is of a child who died as a result of his mother's boyfriend (not the biological father) shaking him. The trauma that little boy had was horrific. It's terrible to think this way, but I feel that his passing is a bit of a blessing. He was no longer in pain and could go on to his next life where hopefully fate was kinder to him.
I have watched countless SBSK videos over the years and this one shocked me. There are illnesses and disabilities that occur for unknown or accidental reasons but this is on another level. These adoptive parents are absolutely incredible people. I can't imagine how difficult it has been for them to know what the biological parents did to these sweet boys. I can't understand how there isn't extensive jail time and rehabilitation for people who do this to children. The damage done is so profound. The blessing here is that these sweet boys now have amazing parents who truly know how to love them. God bless this family. Their biological children are just the sweetest too. These three adopted children hit the jackpot with their mum and dad. Gorgeous family. I'm just so sorry this happened though.
to willingly adopt a child that will need so much care and attention 24 hours a day 7 days a week, these parents are amazing and the fact that the care they provided enabled him to walk, talk and see again is amazing, I cant even fathom how much work was put into caring for that baby and how happy he is now. It broke my heart when I heard the baby was smiling when he met them, after all the trauma he went through he still smiled at strangers 😭
I have great hope for Bryce. Music therapy is a thing. His doll was so cute and i noticed him patting the baby doll's back. I love how the other brother was so honest with his thoughts and feelings when Bryce joined the family. It's important to acknowledge feelings during such a big change in the family. All the best to everyone in this family.
I worked at a level 5 psychiatric ward for children and teens. Think of the absolute worst thing that could happen to you as a baby or child and it's happened to those kids. When I read the case files on the patients I cried it was awful.
It is my passion to do what you did! Currently working on my B.S. right now but I am planning on interning/working in a similar environment. I am curious to hear about your experiences...
Bryce may not have been lucky from the very start… but he’s certainly lucky to have such an amazing family, and such sweet and gentle people around him.
I believe somehow, somewhere that Bryce is processing more than any of us can see right now. The way he gets silent and listens intently as his parents respond to Chris' questions was amazing to me. I can see why his mom believes he will have success in life. ❤ PS There was so much love in this video. The siblings and parents are so kind toward Bryce, and Chris was so playful and silly that I'm sure it was a very happy day for Bryce.
He is very aware of his environment and what people say. There's just a disconnect in expressing himself through verbal language. But I think he will thrive. He's very aware.
I have a cousin with this horrid syndrome. he doesn't process much beyond his favorite snack names, (Honeybuns!), and animal rescue videos. But i feel like that shows he is one of worthy heart.
Unfortunately I have to disagree. I think he takes everything in but prob 75% of it gets lost. He sees people talking but has absolutely no clue what they’re saying
How the sister keeps mentioning food knowing she was deprived is deep. Especially when she glances towards authority for reassurance afterwards, it is heartbreaking. Surprised how birth parents arent in some type of facility to even have these said visits. EDIT: Edits made due to type-o's btw lol
What an emotional rollercoaster: Sadness for Bryce and his bio siblings; anger at the bio parents; amazement at how much Bryce is able to do; inspired by his mom's compassion and desire for understanding. Just... wow.
My cousin is the birth mother of these children. I was shocked and horrified to learn what had happened to all these babies. Through my family I have heard stories about their adoptive parents and their beautiful family. They are angels on earth and I am thankful they found Bryce and brother and sisters. I hope to meet them in person one day. ❤
@13:52 His hesitance to say the joke makes me feel for him. You know it’s not appropriate but it’s just the humor you develop when dealing with hard situations with the grace and love that this couple seems to have done.
I wish I had foster parents that loved me as much as they love him. I was adopted by a horrible family instead that did a lot of harm.I'm having my own baby in January and it's really healing for me I'm excited to give them all the love I never had and keep them safe and to feel like I have a family in a different way.

Chris has to be such a strong and grounded person to be able to do these interviews without breaking down. Phew. He must have a great therapist and community.
My son has KDVS and we do a lot of sign language. I noticed at 14:29 Bryce is signing “friend” after you sing to him and then he signs “again”. You guys thought he was clapping, a little missed communication, but of course he just moved on without a worry. What an amazing little guy.
I work with children in care and this is absolutely so accurate. Trauma breeds trauma. If the parents weren't parented well, they often repeat the cycle. Love the "shaken the right way". Accepting it is what it is and being able to find the light in these situations is really what gets you through.
This is exactly what I was thinking! Brice and his siblings seem like incredibly wonderful and intelligent children! Whatever caused the parents to do what they did most likely stemmed from something/things that happened to them (which, what they did was horrible, and unacceptable, but just like what the mother said “get to know them and their story, and try to see if anything makes sense”). The mother also said how the father craved love, and how he was born into a family with drugs, and also had a horrible childhood. It helps better understand why the parents would do something like what they did. ❤
Their 16 year old son is amazing.. i think the whole family are incredible. But their son's understanding of Bryce's difficulty communicating everything he wants to say just blew me away!! ❤
There is no justification for what he did but there is an explanation. The tragedy started in his own childhood and probably before as well. As much as we could blame him, somehow we don't know how we ourselves would have turned out if we grew up the same way he did. 21 different foster homes before 18 means that he on average never spent a single year in one family or even just institutions. This must also mean that people who willingly signed up to become his foster parents also resigned over and over. Bryce's foster mom is a woman who searches to understand people, it's admireable as well as one of the most important things Bryce needs in his state.
@@アキコ2003 I'm still by no means justifying the actions of the father, but what about the harm done to him? If you keep simplifying everything like that, instead of taking into account everything I just said and everything they've said in the video, I'm afraid you won't understand a lot of things in general.
@@filipgaier4908 my guy, the harm done to him doesn't explain anything when thousands of people go through the same and even worst and don't turn into child abusers.
Edited to add: I should have clarified. I do not think shaken baby training would have saved these children. Some people are just too far gone, much like these boys’ biological father. I’m sorry if my below comment came off as ignorant. I think that every parent, before they can take their child home from the hospital, should get shaken baby training. I took it as a nanny and the biggest thing I learned is you have permission to put your child in their crib, close the door, and take time to cool off. Go scream into a pillow or a sink full of water. Call a friend or a trusted neighbor. Whatever you have to do to become calmer.
When my daughter was born 10 years ago, we had to watch a video in the birth center regarding SBS. We also received literature to take home with information on how to cope with situations and not shake the baby.
Literally this. Parents get to the point of sheer frustration and do NOT know what to do. Luckily they're promoting safely leaving the baby (as you've described) and take that minute to decompress and try again. Also noise cancelling headphones are a great investment!
I had my son almost 3 years ago. The hospital I was at made me watch about an hours worth of videos and fill out 3 pages worth of stuff proving I watched the videos on shaken baby syndrome and how I can prevent it in my own home
True but a lot of these cases don't come from ignorance. Some people are just sick and delusional and lack empathy. I mean case in point right here, they already had a child with SBS, they knew the consequences yet did it again. Also cases of abuse like starvation /neglect. No one needs to educate a grown adult that a baby needs nutrition and/or can't be left alone while you go get high.... I agree with the premise of your comment but as this adoptive mom stated at the beginning of the video, even WITH INCREASED awareness cases are still going up... this is not a lack of education here.... it's horrible, sick people abusing poor babies with little or no concern for those babies..
@@marietighe6328sometimes, people do just snap. They don’t always decide to injure their baby, sometimes, it is a person with poor self-regulation and impulse control who just acts before they think. It doesn’t make it ok, but I think if we just dismiss this as sone people are sick, we are dealing with the invasive problem we have in our society of people who don’t receive the emotional education they need in order to not pose a risk to society.
I had the pleasure of attending church with Bryce and his family. They are a lovely family and Bryce was always happy and a joy to see. I’m so glad to see this video and he is thriving! Many blessings to him and his family.
The fact that she was willing to approach the biological parents and eventually was able to develop compassion for the biological father is way beyond admirable. She took the statement 'moving from judgement to curiosity' to another level.
Here we see a severe case of shaken baby syndrome. I wonder though how many 'milder' cases are out there which never get diagnosed but where harm has been done 😢
Honestly. How many learning disabilities could possibly be the result of damage done when there are no witnesses to a bad incident? I've never thought about that, possibly because it is not something one would want to think about at all :(
I have two older sisters who are victims of shaken baby syndrome and most likely fetal alcohol syndrome. My mom said to me once that she used to “shake them to stop crying”. My mom also drank while pregnant. This would have been in the mid 1950s. I went to a babysitter though since I was the youngest and my mom started working which may have helped.
My grandmother used to babysit a well known doctor's children and he told my grandmother if they act up to shake them until their teeth rattled. It made Mr sick to my stomach and I was 12 years old when I heard this.
the part that really moved me to tears was watching bryce hold his baby doll when his brother was discussing his brain function and how this syndrome has affected his speech - bryce so gently cradled his baby and patted his back in a way that parents do for their babies. at five years old he knows how a baby should be treated - i wish so badly he could’ve received the same love and gentleness as a baby, but am so grateful he had such a beautiful and supportive and educated family. he truly is a miracle and moved me to tears of joy and beauty 🥹
My heart breaks for Bryce that he was robbed of experiencing a “normal” life as most of us watching do. With what he’s endured, it is beyond incredible to see him surrounded by love. It looks like he and his sister share such a bond.
If he wasn't injured, maybe he would have still being with an abusive family? Idk, it's better him to be safe instead of being "normal" and traumatized like his sister.

It really makes me wonder if he would have been a musician if it never happened. He has an innate response and love for music... a lot like how I was when I was a baby and I'm a musician now.
@@Lalalakalajaja That's a cool observation! Maybe he can still become a musician. Even if he can't play an instrument, he might enjoy creating electronica! :)
As a foster parent, his story is too familiar. The trauma my foster daughter, hopefully adopted daughter soon, had inflicted on her was unbelievable. I don't understand why parents do what they do to their children. Just take them to a safe surrender site. There are no questions asked.
Safe haven/surrender sites do not work for anything but newborns. Once you’ve accepted guardianship of the child you can’t just change your mind. There have even been cases of parents calling CPS on *themselves* asking for a child to be taken away, and they won’t take them. Not everything in life is simple. It doesn’t excuse this at all, but pretending there are simple solutions when there are not, keeps us stuck in the problem.
@@magnarcreed3801even when they won't stop crying it doesn't incite rage in a decent person. Babies don't cry for the sake of it. Thank you for shedding light on this situation and this family’s story.. unfortunately the biological parents of those boys don’t seem to be facing any repercussions from not one but two very serious cases of child abuse. I pray those boys have a full, happy life in their new home ❤
To watch Bryce be so sweet with his doll, patting it so gently on its back, is just so stunningly sweet especially when you realize how he got his TBI. God bless that family.
That was something I noticed as well. Despite the harshness that was shown to him, he still has a beautiful and compassionate soul. It’s sad to think what he won’t get to see and do because of his horrible bio parents actions, but he will surely find a path of love and happiness with his real parents and family. I’m sure he’ll be such a loving uncle to his siblings kids one day!
As a woman who is wary of men, marriage and who wants to adopt, this couple and dad are really inspirational. I hope I can meet a man as lovely and caring as him one day.
And they are such amazing parents to raise children that are also so chill, caring and supportive of their little “energetic brother”. It was amazing to see the younger brother sit so gently with his arm around Bryce, talking so kindly about him. You don’t see that everyday, even in non-fostered families.
I love this family. They are a gift. The way the way Bryce's mom got to know his birth parents to find out his biological dad's story, to find out that story of "why" for Bryce and his siblings was so brave and I could tell that affected real dad emotionally. I could have never been so brave. The love these parents have for all the children in their care is a blessing.
Wow, I have always heard of shaken baby syndrome but have never really seen the effects of it. I cannot believe a parent or any human would do that to a defenseless child. Bryce is truly a miracle and regardless of everything you can see how smart he is. Thanks to his foster parents for letting his inner light shine through.
I watched this at 6am before getting my littles up for school, Bryce is an absolute angel, what a testiment to love his miraculous recovery is. Lots of prayers, vibes and well wishes to this entire family and all involved 🙏🏿 ❤️ 💙 ✨️
Each member of this family exudes unconditional love for Bryce and it is beautiful. The idea that Bryce’s new mom has learned to feel empathy for the bio dad represents a new level of forgiveness that I’m not sure most people may be able to feel. The most shocking part for me was that Shaken Baby Syndrome is on the rise. We must do better as a society and figure out the characteristics of a person who would do this and be able to identify them and get them help BEFORE it gets to the point of a traumatic brain injury. Bryce and family, I’m sending all of you a giant hug!
@@eatingketchupchips9567this is such an incredibly sexist comment. If I remember correctly, it was the bio dad in this situation who shook the baby. As the mother even said, sometimes people just snap. Everyone is capable of harming a baby this way. It is so disgustingly sexist of you to pin that on just women
It should be the law everywhere that if you lose parental rights for one child, you lose parental rights for every child you have, and any that might come into the future, unless psychologists, social workers and judges attests to you having made a meaningful journey of rehabilitation. Being a parent should be seen as a privilege, not a right. This terrible story also happens in Italy a lot, because here you need to have tangible proof of harm being done to a child before anyone can take him away, meaning that if I know a parent has a history of violence, drug abuse, jail, I still can't take the child away if I don't have proof that he's being abused. And if there is proof, and children get taken away, but the parents have another child the day after, no one can take away that other child until there is new proofs. This system is beyond ridiculous. If you are the kind of person to hit or shake a baby one day, you're not going to stop being that person unless you put some meaningful work behind it.
I am in Italy, I adopted two kids abroad. They have a third older sibling who was taken away from their mother BEFORE she had the other two. Why they let her keep the younger ones for as long as she did is incomprehensible. She is an abuser and she should be in jail. She is not unfortunately. And while my kids are highly traumatized and in therapy I am also pretty sure that the oldest is going to try to find her one day, when she is all grown up. Pretty easy to find her. She is on Facebook like nothing happened, smiling in every picture. What a piece of work 😤
So true. Especially those who are so vulnerable like children and seniors who can no longer care for themselves. They depend on us as a society and as their caretakers to protect them from harm. I’ll never understand how anyone can abuse a child, especially PHYSICALLY to an INFANT who can do nothing for themselves and rely on you for everything. Absolutely gut wrenching to know he was so young when he was abused
When she said “there are more shaken baby cases” it may look like people have started doing it more, but in actuality it just means that cases are being recognised now where they haven’t been before.
Watching this video made me think about one of my cousins. She was way older than me, & has since passed on. I always heard that she was just crazy, but watching this, it makes me wonder if something worse had happened to her. God bless you & RIP Birchie. 🙏
His sister spent more of her life with their parents than Bryce did. She probably still does see her bio parents as “mom and dad” to a degree and being adopted won’t change that, only time will.
some cultures or religions make a clear distinction between bio children and adopted. so they might just live differently than you, it's not necessarily a bad thing
A valid criticism, although not intended to be interpreted maliciously. I don't think there's a word either to describe saying something to someone that could be perceived as disrespectful but you directly don't mean for it to be taken that way lol
These parents didn’t indicate that they have adopted these kids. Where I live, a foster child could always be placed back with the bio parent/family - there is a big focus on reunification with birth family.
@ash-is-napping Yes, they said they adopted the three of them. There are two others that had been in their care, but they didn't adopt. Not sure why, but I'm sure they have their reasons.
How on earth can a system allow a second child to be shaken and brain damaged after knowing those bio parents disabled their first child in the same way?! Absolutely disgusting. Once a parent has abused a child, they should never be able to have another child again.
Yeah and this lady had FIVE
There really be some sort of birth control program/ education program for these moms. They aren’t able to keep ANY of their kids so why keep popping them out??

Sorry to pry, but is the blood pressure thing while sleeping a common trait of autoimmune diseases?

Why were the "parents" not in PRISON after they inflicted life-long brain damage on their first son? I'm serious it's as if our society views children as subhuman. Crimes against children rarely lead to anything approaching justice
I concur. Children are the most vulnerable humans on earth 💔
I'm shocked that the bio parents were out living their life and had another child. Hopefully they will never have another child.

Same here.
Explains the first for me, not the idea of it happening a second time.
@@annataymond9529 If he didn't learn how to heal his issues, that would reflect in his behavior which then manifested in the abuse. He should have never been allowed to parent a child after what he did without extensive psychological help.

All the children. Their adoptive daughter was neglected
❤❤❤
I agree. Even though he has trouble verbally communicating, he is very intelligent. That's because he has parents and siblings that care about what his needs are.
This exactly.
Bryce looks so attentively at others. He looks with such deep interest. So precious.

OMG!!! For such a SEVERE case of SBS, he is SOOO attentive & focused when his parents are speaking!! WOW! I’ve seen cases not nearly as severe where the child isn’t NEARLY this focused, aware, and attentive!
His biological parents disabled him FOR LIFE. They should be in prison FOR LIFE. SIMPLE!
Why aren’t they in prison?
Yea why are they not in prison huh?
they should be judged by a jury of their peers

@@motownJUNK99 I see what you are saying. But "shaken the right way," to me, is a way of saying they embrace everything about Bryce, and that includes his disability. To an extent, all adoptive families have to process this kind of thing. Because in order to become that family, something horrible had to happen in the child's family of origin. So you're thankful and happy for everything that child is, and that they're your child, but you can't ignore the tragedy that made it possible.

@ 8:45 When the mother says "baby", Bryce laughed & held the babydoll against his mom. He knows what is going on, absolutely; beyond that adorable gaze at whomever is speaking. I’ll bet anything that having a loving home with the support he needed, is what helped Bryce to thrive and make so much developmental progress. This couple deserves the world for taking such good care of these babies and loving them so much.

I love that she chose to be compassionate and empathetic with the birth father, doesn't excuse his actions at all, but the love outshines the tragedy.

If you died TODAY, where would you be spending eternity? Have all your sins been forgiven or are you still hoping that you're a good enough person to earn a spot in heaven.
The reality is that no one can earn a spot, our sin disqualifies us. But the God news is that Jesus paid for our qualification by dying on our behalf taking the punishment that we deserved.
JESUS said, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son; that WHOEVER believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16
Nothing is more important than your eternal destination. Please, don't say, "When I get older I'll get right with God' or 'I'll get serious with Jesus one day when I'm ready.'
Don't wait any longer, today is the day of salvation. Get right with God today, for tomorrow very well might be too late.
We invite you to REPENT and accept that Jesus Christ is Lord of your life by praying this simple prayer out loud right now...
'Heavenly Father, I turn away from my old life and repent for my sins. I believe that Jesus came for me, that Jesus died for me and that Jesus rose again for me so that I can be forgiven and receive eternal life. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life from this day. Through Him and in His Name, receive the gift of eternal life. I ask you to fill me with the Holy Spirit and lead me for the rest of my life. In Jesus name - Amen.

And why undergo five pregnancies if all you’re going to do is hurt those kids and need to have them taken away? It’s mind-boggling!
Rage doesn’t work that way. You think you’re good and then the damn thing won’t stop crying.
@@magnarcreed3801even when they won't stop crying it doesn't incite rage in a decent person. Babies don't cry for the sake of it. There's always a reason and 90% of the time, they want more food even if they just were fed. I've never once been frustrated with a little one. Adults? Yep. Innocent little ones? Never.
@@magnarcreed3801 I get what you're trying to say but a baby is not a "thing," they're tiny human beings who can't care for themselves. Yeah people are allowed to be frustrated or mad when trying to take care of them but you can't blame a baby for being a baby. People need to control their emotions better
Man, the way Bryce looks at your family gives me goosebumps. Pure love.
Well done.
Those adoptive parents are some of the most caring, empathetic people ever ❤ I wish more people in this world were just like them.
Watching Bryce care for his baby doll broke my heart into a million pieces. He's a beautiful soul, and couldn't have a better family now.
Bryce is incredible! He was holding the baby so kindly and sweetly tapping his back. What incredible parents he now has. May God bless this family.
Bryce is constantly hugging and loving his doll, he is pure Love and Innocence. Those kids are a blessing. Wonderful parents
Not pure love and innocence...he is pinching his brother repeatedly hard enough to make him flinch. He is sweet for sure, and it is terrible what was done to him...but he is hurting his brother.
He has only developed so well thanks to you. I would describe his life as both a blessing and a curse. I wish you only the very best. It's nice to see what great people there are in this world. Kind regards from Germany
These are really amazing people. I can tell the dad has a lot of anger about what has happened to these kids and honestly can’t blame him.
Thank you for shedding light on this situation and this family’s story.. unfortunately the biological parents of those boys don’t seem to be facing any repercussions from not one but two very serious cases of child abuse. I pray those boys have a full, happy life in their new home ❤
At least 5 cases of abuse 😡
Who are they not in jail for the rest of their lives?! Insanity
Not every parent needs a child but every child needs a parent ❤️
As a woman who is wary of men, marriage and who wants to adopt, this couple and dad are really inspirational. I hope I can meet a man as lovely and caring as him one day.
And they are such amazing parents to raise children that are also so chill, caring and supportive of their little “energetic brother”. It was amazing to see the younger brother sit so gently with his arm around Bryce, talking so kindly about him. You don’t see that everyday, even in non-fostered families.
@@tonysopranosduck416 I agree! They are wonderful 🥹🥹🥹
Same here!! And I thought exactly the same thing about the Dad. What humble and selfless, compassionate people.
Start going to Church. It’s your best chance of success
good luck on your future adoption journy!💖 -from an adopted kid
I watched this at 6am before getting my littles up for school,
Bryce is an absolute angel, what a testiment to love his miraculous recovery is. Lots of prayers, vibes and well wishes to this entire family and all involved 🙏🏿 ❤️ 💙 ✨️
Both these people are angels - but my god, the mom's aura is just so wonderful. The world needs more mothers like this.
Maybe they should stop forcing girls and women who aren’t prepared to be or don’t want to be parents, to give birth.
Women shouldn’t be forced to give birth, I agree. But even parents who plan to have babies unfortunately harm their children
Bryce and his siblings really hit the jackpot becoming a part of this beautiful family .
Such a beautiful boy. Thank God he’s alive and well and loved by everyone around him. Made my day to see this sweet boy.
All children deserve parents, not all parents deserve children. May this sweet loving family thrive and stay strong.
Chris saying “this song is called ‘Bryce is awesome’” and then Bryce signed friend. I broke down. How unbelievably sweet
Forced sterilization IM SERIOUS
I am in Italy, I adopted two kids abroad. They have a third older sibling who was taken away from their mother BEFORE she had the other two.
Why they let her keep the younger ones for as long as she did is incomprehensible. She is an abuser and she should be in jail.
She is not unfortunately.
And while my kids are highly traumatized and in therapy I am also pretty sure that the oldest is going to try to find her one day, when she is all grown up.
Pretty easy to find her. She is on Facebook like nothing happened, smiling in every picture. What a piece of work 😤
Let’s not conflate having been to jail or struggled with drug addiction to child abuse. Many, MANY ex-cons and drug addicts would never hurt a child.
@@bettersecret1499that's the risk you take unfortunately.
The mom looks like she is struggling, maybe it’s just me.
He is like an angel. God bless those parents who adopted him, they really are a lovely persons
Much love to this family and their kiddos. No one deserves abuse ♡♡
I didn’t like how they were still calling the biological father “dad or daddy”.
The chilled dude on the couch is the dad.
Not sure why, but I'm sure they have their reasons.
the way this man interacts with children is so beautiful and cute and fun its really sweet to watch him connect with them and try to understand them
