I know everyone says "I was at this game!" But I was. Alone, female, I went to every weekend home game & arbitrarily during the week. Ma would watch WPIX & look for me because I got field level tickets, brought my Minolta XG7 zoom lens camera & stood by the Yankee dugout with zero interference from anyone. It was a magical time & I'm grateful to have lived through this era. I still have my old-fashioned Yankee tickets from the booths that are now *antiques*. I'm a child of the 60s and 70s, what can I say.

I remember that well. All three were real pros, but I think the analysis you get from Michael Kay nowadays is significantly better than what those guys provided in the 70's. They had great voices and class, but didn't give a ton of insight into the game.

Guidry was highly underrated. He could have been HOF worthy if not for being hampered by injuries later in his career. Also wasn’t helped by not being a major leaguer until he was already 26 (he did have two brief cups of coffee in his age 24-25 seasons).
Only really pitched for 10 seasons, with maybe Only 2 of them even reaching mediocre status (10-11, 4.51 in 1984, and 9-12, 3.98 in 1986, which was also his last full season before the injuries set in).

The marlins were such a disaster with Reyes that they got rid of him in the first year of a 5 year contract The bluejays were under 500 with Reyes, but made it to the ALCS the following two years after they got rid of him Reyes was the biggest reason for the historic collapses of 2007 and 2008 hit under 200 during both collapses team lacked focus and urgency . Rockies got 16 games worse after Reyes showed up . 2017 mets were supposed to be World Series contenders instead finish 22 games under 500 with Reyes . 2018 mets once again significantly underachieving Jose Reyes is by far the worst thing to ever happen to the Mets he has been destroying teams for decades Reyes is the rare athlete that infects guys around him his laughing and overall personality doesn't allow guys to have the right mindset to perform at their highest capabilities which is why it's been 2 decades of the same underachieving result.
