This movie was so good. It's a shame that Disney didn't have the balls to release this in theatres and cancelled it.
Yeah all because of the LGBT theme in the film or that Disney is so coward to let Blue Sky Studios finish the movie, but luckily Netflix along with Annapurna Pictures was our savior of finishing Blue Sky Studios final legacy.
@@TheImaginator972 it might’ve been the LGBTA themes, but I think it’s more likely the cowards just bought Blue Sky and destroyed it just cuz they wanted less competition.
When will Disney realize that LGTBQ+ themes in movies is perfectly alright.
@@ma.2089but- wouldn't they have owned the movie? How would they have completions with themselves-
@@ma.2089 Nah, it was most likely because of corona. Their parks had to close, and they wanted to save costs.
Also, Disney didn’t buy Blue Sky specifically; it was simply owned by Fox.
before she "died", she transformed into a phoenix, so she was reborn for the cinders just like a phoenix
She said they’d rise like a Phoenix earlier in the movie
"I don't know what's scarier. The fact that everyone in this kingdom wants to run a sword through my heart, or that sometimes I just wanna let 'em." Not gonna lie, that line broke me. I did not expect them to go that deep.
This movie is an absolute masterpiece. I'm so glad Annapurna saved it and gave what was going to be Blue Sky's magnum opus a second chance.
Same
Agree, I really got into tears during that scene.
I cry at that part in every reaction ;w;
I did not expect the suicide attempt at the end. Disney would never xD
There a lot of things in this movie that Disney wouldn’t have allowed
Two things Bal and Nimona could've done to foolproof them securing his innocence. 1) Copied and saved the video evidence of the swords being switched to a cloud. 2) Filmed the Director stabbing Ambrosius and Ambrosius being Nimona, not just the confession. That way people would know Nimona wasn't pretending to be the Director
RIP Blue Sky Studios
But I can happily say that Nimona would've been Blue Sky's Spider-Verse moment.
No we can't just moarn BSS we need to unite all Blue Sky Studios people and creators of this movie to force convince Disney to bring it back to business and since Disney is weakening now it's their chance to rise up again!
Rest in peace to blue sky studios yo
It may passed, but it’s design revived by its former mysterious artists.
@@isaacanimalogo-4548Can’t really get my hopes up on that. It can be revived by another name and not have ties to Disney.
Nimona is a movie that I definitely related and resonate the most with when it comes to the themes and messages of this movie. I'm not LGBTQ+ but there's a lot to Nimona that I feel were its coming on prejudices or systematic discrimination and such being a black woman, Nimona is such a good needed movie that's truly hits on so many levels. Especially given all this Anti-LGBTQ hatred or just in general hatred going on in the world today.
Bro, this movie is incredible. I was surprised it went that deep on an emotional and existential level that had me in tears. I’m so glad, you are reacting to this masterpiece.
This had ME in tears too, and multiple times at that, which actually surprised me (for reasons further down in this comment):
This is the 5th time I've either watched this myself on my own,, a reaction to it, or done something like merely read a comment quoting Nimona's most heartbreaking line, but I can now definitely say:
This is apparently my FIRST "repeater tearjerker" that will "get me" every single time (so far... about 6 times, including writing my own initial comment to this reaction).
Ever since I felt the feel-good brain endorphins that came come along with tears (during my first viewing of "inside Out") I've been a tearjerker-seeker... but I soon (frustratingly) discovered that (until now), it had been virtually impossible for me to cry to a RE-watch of ANYthing. Even "The Land Before Time," "Interstellar", and "My Girl" were "one-hit-wonders" for me... I don't really know why THIS one does it every single time. Maybe it has something to do with the wonderful mysteriousness of an innocent shapeshifter creature, among other potential reasons.
This is one of the best movies ever! It’s touching, hilariously unhinged and isn’t afraid to go HARD. The film is perfection in every way! I love how all of the voice actors brought their characters to life, and the writing was stellar! 😍
My guy, the Director saying "Ballister, Today the kingdom will see you for who you really are" Is soo perverse, I fuc*ing love it
I couldn't help but cackle like a witch when Todd hit that billboard 💀
Dude same! That "bro." before he hits it- just- LMAO 🖐️😭🤣😂
This movie was such a surprise for me. I didn’t expect much but it was so much better than it had any right to be
Nimona is so damn good! It has a very interesting story, the humor got a laugh out of me, the animation is amazing, and the characters are really fun! Just a masterpiece all around, and even though this wasn't released by Blue Sky, I can definitely say that it's their best film and a strong way to end their run.
Chloe Grace Moretz as Nimona is an awesome touch. The former Hit-Girl is really expressive in this role.
12:45 when you look in retrospective, you realize that Ambrosius was having a jealous rage 😅
Nimona is by ND Stevenson, who is also the creator of Netflix and DreamWorks' She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
Contributed to Adventure Time, Amphibia and the fantastic 2017 Ducktales reboot as well.
The original book is even better than the movie since it could fit so much more into one story definitely worth a read
Take that Disney for shutting down Blue Sky Studios, Netflix has done a great job bringing all of us 'Nimona'. 😄🤟🏼 Me and my little sister truly enjoy rewatching Nimona twice!
I really love the style of these characters in the Nimona movie.
This movie was such a great surprise it had fantastic characters great music and deep moments I did not expect
Loved the reaction! I'm absolutely in love with this movie❤ How they showed how impressionable the kids are. Gloreth was a kid and after what her parents and everybody put everything in her head, she started to see differently and of course everything was blown out of proportion. History changes depending upon who you're asking. Also it took me my third time watching this movie to notice why Nimona called it a wishing well. Her wish was to have a companion and she met Gloreth by that well and that "coin that appeared" was literally the rock that Gloreth handed her im gonna cry again 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I can so relate to the "I'm gonna cry again" thing...

I think my favorite things about all of the reactions to this movie on youtube is that the automated subtitles consistently say pneumonia instead of Nimona
This movie just reminds me of Venom; which funny/ironically enough Riz Ahmed (Boldheart) was the villain and here he's the Eddie Brock to Nimona's Venom energy. He's even wearing black armor too.
Nimona: "The One-Armed Club is about to get some new members!"
Venom: "I love her! Eddie! Let's adopt her!"
Thank you For Releasing that Reaction of the movie Nimona it's a shame that Disney didn't have an sense to own the rights for this Movie
Between this and Scott Pilgrim, Metric deserves to be a bigger band. They have so many bangers.
I love how weird Nimona is. Her shark form and trying to get Ballister to put his head in her mouth, XD!
If you loved this, I definitely suggest "Mitchells vs Machines"! Another fantastic animated film that needs more attention.
I was neutral with Nimona at first, except for acknowledging how funny she can be... until I saw her dreaming / sleeping and shapeshifting while she was dreaming- that made me go "Awwww" :D
But I didn't really really start to get attached until the scenes with her trying to shapeshift into various animals to make friends (without success) - I found that heartbreaking. And then certain scenes after that too.
Thank God this movie is excited. I love Nimona!
Nimona: he's perfect ❤️🔥
I had high expectations for this movie, AND IT WENT WAY ABOVE THE BAR!!!!!!!!!!
So many easter-eggs in the movie. Also, really good movie.
Yay! This is my new favorite Netflix movie ❤🔥. Thank you @TimotheeReacts for reacting to this movie on my birthday today 😊
No problem!!
Nimona is probably the best movie I’ve ever seen, great reaction! ❤️
Thanks!
Hope we see more of ND Stevenson’s comics turned into movies like this one was.
Loved Nimona. Best animated movie in ages.
I dont know which would be sadder, to be immortal and eternally alone, or to be immortal and outlive everyone you love over and over knowing you'll never follow them to the other side.
31:54 - (and the moments prior) - ok, this is the 5th time I've either watched this myself on my own,, a reaction to it, or done something like merely read a comment quoting Nimona's most heartbreaking line, but I can now definitely say:
This is apparently my FIRST "repeater tearjerker" that will "get me" every single time (so far... about 5 times... no- make that 6, including just writing THIS comment).
I know shes like ancient or whatever but shes stil just a kid. and how dare any person or society make a CHILD feel that way
PUSS IN BOOTS 2 WAS MY NUMBER 1 BUT NIMONA JUST MIGHT BE MY FAVORITE ANIMATED MOVIE OF 2023
Exactly.
30:25 not only does it have the same message in sea beast, httyd, king Kong, and even Godzilla conveys this message, but in different ways and ways
Reminded me of ParaNorman
My favourite thing about this was hearing that Eugene Lee Yang was in this movie.
Nimona is the best character
Fantastic
This movie is the LGBTQ+ Representation that we need.
We need to help bring Blue Sky Studios Back no matter what Disney says and now that Disney's weakening due to box office and attraction popularity problems this is it's chance to rise up again!😊
Do you agree you should see Abominable,Luck,Maya and the 3, Wolfwalkers and Robin Robin.
Well that was the last movie from Blue Sky Studios at least they said goodbye with a good movie
Disney is evil for trying to shelve this beautiful movie
Great reaction! Love the movie!
Alfred Pennyworth once said, “Both children and adults can be cruel. It’s all apart of the human condition for us to fear and outright despise that which is different to them.”
This was one of the best movies I’ve ever seen it makes me want to watch it multiple times back to back
I've watched nimona like 1000000 times it's so GOOD!
One of the greatest movies of the season.
Really love it
Nimona’s voice actress voiced Wednesday Addams in the 2019 Animated Films. It’s amazing we actually get LGBTQ+ Representation in this movie. I love the animation and the mixture Between Renaissance and Futuristic. So good. This movies Message about Suicide is not always the answer is amazingly done.
31:13 Her final shriek is just _gutwrenching._
One of many gut wrenching moments for sure... and her rescue, and the line of "I see you Nimona" was SO touching. That was one of many moments that pull tears out of me.
The only thing I wonder about in this movie is are all other monsters also good? Or are there bad ones? If so they should still have a force to protect the city. Or maybe there are no other monsters at all? Is she the only one?
My impression is that she is the only one. They also kept the wall open
@@TheBelovedPandamaybe there used to be more and Nimona is the last of her kind?
There are definitely more trans people out there. And no, we are no monsters. Do y'all not know how to read symbolism and metaphors??
i saw this the other day and love it so much omg
I love this film❤
You all cried, because, in the end, Ballister "saw her" I know. My wife and I have been married many years and when we met in high school, she WAS Nimona. Quite the snarky wild child with short hair and big brown eyes and a competitive swimmer.. She never cries at movies, but when he said that line. she looked over at me with tears in her eyes and nodded. We hugged and cried. When we watch this, I get pretty emotional, both happy and sad, because this reminds me of how we were when we were young. I will say that there has been more than one time when I've had to back her down from pouring Drano on the hood of our neighbors car over several incidents that really pissed her off. (Had to do with how he treats his animals. His wife finally left him and took the animals with her) She still plots against the husband of her best friend. He's a narcissist of the worst kind. Yeah, Nimona is definitely still in there and I love her to death. (Oh, and her name is Ramona...) Our daughter is a huge fan of this movie too - and she's studying animation. As far as good/bad? We're a little too close to this to judge it, so we give it a solid 10+ . Also loved Mitchell's vs the Machines, Elemental - way more than we thought we would (I was outsourced by Disney in 2012 - not the biggest fan of that company) and of course Puss In Boots - just incredible.
I am a gender fluid teenager that lives in Texas I relate to nimona a little(a lot) to much. Metal🙂
Now this is unknown of what happened to Nimona's parents, she had those shapeshifting either from her mom or dad. They got killed which left Nimona all by herself to survive i think that's why she has an ability to shapeshift.
Am I the only one or Timothee kinda looks like a fusion between Bal and Ambrosius?😄
i have been pushing this movie at anyone i could .. plz.. this is important... ppl need to see this, and need to understand... Much love darling ♥
SO many beautifully charged moments... weeks ago, a 17yr old person who was XXY (from my church) was close to their 18th birthday and so terrified, taht teh committed suicide for fear of living in this horrorshow that is Texas ... and i am having trouble .. i didnt see it coming... i didnt know they were in peril... and I failed
Nimona reminds me so much of my best friend, the way she acts it's so similar,My friend behave pretty much like Nimona,it's pretty cool, this movie it's one of my favorite from this year
now that was an evil monster, that threatened the kingdom......
lucky Nimona was there to protect everyone....
STOP I JUST WATCHED IT RN AND IT MADE ME CRY! HOW!? I HAVENT CRIED OVER A MOVIE SINCE I WAS 7
!!! :D I can SOOO relate to that! Here is my own story with this movie:
This is the 5th time I've either watched this myself on my own, a reaction to it, or done something like merely read a comment quoting Nimona's most heartbreaking line, but I can now definitely say:
This is apparently my FIRST "repeater tearjerker" that will "get me" every single time (so far... about 6 times, including writing my own initial comment to this reaction).

9:22. She's using her whale 🐋 form to become a battering ram?! That's hella sick, dude!
Aliens in the attic and rookie of the year.. Different types of movies but are great
Me too I never seen this movie before
Easily top 3 best animated movies of the year right under Puss in Boots 2 and Across the Spiderverse.
If I'm not the 1st here that's fine and I've been waiting for you to watch this tim/Timothy the movie was so good glad you watched it 😊
the surprise of the year😮
Lol everytime i see one of these video essays, i click and watch just to show my support to nimona 😂
I’m probably going to mention this everywhere and a lot, but please watch Wolfwalkers next. It has a similar story and vibe to this.
Good video love this video ❤
This movie is a giant LGBTQ metaphor and I love it
The second she said "I don't know..."
I literally almost lost it cause I realised what she was gonna do
I watched this movie for Eugene Lee Yang. I'm so proud of him! (He voiced Ambrosius).
Btw Rupaul voiced anchor named Nate Knight!
This is my new favorite movie of late
man i got so excited when i saw that Eugene from the try guys voiced goldenlion!!
Great
Dang, Timothy looks like a Greek god rn
😎😎😎😎🔥
Will there be a 2 it can’t end like that
It kinda makes sense that they didn’t make a copy since he would have been in shock and Nimona was too focused on exposing the institute to consider that something might happen to it
Hope your having a great day tim
Thanks you too
34:24-24:26 JUST LIKE SPIDER-MAN’S AUNT MAY!
I think my brother read the book, and i think it was a lesbian author that weote this. To be honest, i like this take, not too pushy with any LGBTQ+ related topics
I don't know if nd stevenson still identifies as a lesbian, but he did at the time, and currently is out as a trans man I'm pretty sure
@spock3815 ah okay!
@@spock3815 I've seen conflicting statements but didn't actually see what he himself said so thanks for the clarification
Tf does that mean?? That’s such a backhanded compliment
hay yo TimotheeReacts this amazing film was 100% metal 9:59
Ngl I took interest in this movie, because of Eugene Lee-Yang.
This needs to come out on DVD T.T
Awesome fact, Tim.... Transformers Rise Of The Beasts comes out on digital tomorrow. *Hint hint nudge nudge* 👀
nudge nudge
Yesterday I watch the movie it was really cool
I watch this movie like seven time
Thx for the reaction
No problem!
Sometimes it can be surprising that this moviewas made by the same people who made Monster's University lol
We need a nimona 2
I remember then I first found this movie, I've never related to a character for than nimona, as a genderfluid this is exactly how most of us feels, there is nearly no genderqueer representation on media so this made me so happy
Disney has been slapped by everyone lately.
(I'm not saying that Nimon is a masterpiece, but still)
I highly recommend the DC Animated Universe it's a beautifully written masterpiece that is definitely worth watching because it has some of the best writing you'll ever see in a superhero project it's so good it's shocking how good it was it was way ahead of its time to be honest 1992 to 2006 was a good time for superhero fans
Wait, If blue sky is dead..
Does this mean Nimona won't have a second movie? Noooo 😢
Another studio will probably pick it up i’m assuming
@@TimotheeReacts oh ok.. I really do hope so..
That ending scene when Ballister opens the door and then hears Nimona’s voice, only to curse (albeit abruptly cut off):
It’s like Monsters Inc ending meets Spider-Man: Homecoming ending.
Wow
1:14
Didn't thought I would hear you swear
