    I'm 6ft5 200lbs so a XXL would be a better option for layering? I was thinking the XL

      XXL would be good if you like a lot of layering. Otherwise the XL will fit more medium compared to some in Volcom's line that fit a little more baggy.

    I had the Rain bib. It was really high quality, but no stretch at all and even sizing up didn't help much. It is a bit funny, because they made the women's version of that (the "Elm"), a stretch goretex bib. Ended up selling it and going for 32 Basement bib. Way more comfortable, albeit 15K instead of goretex. As far as jackets go, I can't stand jackets that have velcro over the main zipper. The best jacket IMO is a goretex shell, or lightly insulated, with exposed main zipper, pit vents and a lift pass arm pocket, which makes it much easier to go though the lift pass detector.

    I went large. I’m 6’0 btw 180-185lbs. Hopefully made the right decision. Usually for Helly Hansen or Northface I’m more of a medium. But I’m the type of guy who likes to layer. And with this jacket I’m aiming for functionality

      If you like to layer alot and are thick in the chest/shoulders I think you did but would love to hear how it works for you when you get it.

    • @jensskovgaard694

      I think large was the best choice. Can’t go wrong with an insulated gortex jacket for just north of $200

    Got the same in black 3 weeks ago, like the fit a lot compare to some other oversize jacket. I like the way this jacket is isolated but not too much so I can still layer underneath. A lot of jacket for the price.

    Just got the Volcom Guch jacket but didn't realise it was just a shell jacket! Am I better off returning it and getting the Brighton pullover for 100 less or should I go for the L insulated jacket? I don't ride back country and I've never rode with a shell jacket tbh. Should I keep the Guch jacket as I got it for a pretty good price of £200 or should I return it?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +1

      That Guch is an exceptional jacket. 3L Gore-Tex stretch does a great job in bounds as well but it really depends on what kind of weather you see. Brighton if it's usually dry. L-Gore Ins if you run cold or often ride in cold sometimes wet/windy weather. L-Gore Shell if you want the shell to block wind/water to let whatever layer underneath work for you better warmth wise but still be ok with warmer days or warm/wet days. The Guch is a better version of the L-Gore. It really comes down to personal preference and if you run warm or cold.

      @@thegoodridesnow Man appreciate the quick reply! I used to live in whistler and ran an insulated jacket and wore a base layer under but now this coming season I’m living in the UK and plan to do a few Europe trips and also Japan so I’m not even sure what it will be like. I’ve been to Japan and know it’s usually dry.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +1

      I think you will be in colder but dryer places. If you have good layers keep the Guch. If you don't get the insulated L-Gore. That is a better jacket than the Brighton.

  • @bido8176

    Agreed on the weird tightness at the shoulders. Ive always worn a Medium Volcom jacket, for probably 15 years. Got the 23/24 Dua and when i raise my arms the entire jacket raises up well above my waistline. If it was zipped into the pants the entire pants would raise up also. Its like the shoulder stitch comes too low on the body of the jacket. But the size large fits like an XXL with sleeves almost to my finger tips (6’0, 180 lbs and long arms. It’s a very poor fit. Return for sure.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  10 месяцев назад

      Yeah if it was zipped into the pants that might be an easy way to rack your nuts. If I get access to the 2024 I'll for sure let you know if it's changed. The older L-Gore's worked for me.
