Johor Bahru is a bit expensive due to its close proximity to Singapore. Johor Bahru is fast developing lot of construction because of Projek Iskandar, RTS link train 🚆 etc. Maybe 2,3 years most of these construction will be completed we will see newly transform Johor Bahru
@@aimanhakimi7181 Nah, no need HSR too expensive better build train like komuter/mrt more beneficial to Johoreans. Johor govt also already plan to build ART train.
All the way since your days in Laos.....now finally, you come to a place i called home as well. Ypu, Johor bahru aka JB is much expensive compare to the other cities in Malaysia. usually, weekend would be packed with Singaporeans . anyway, hope you enjoy yourselves. Happy exploring mates!
Malaysia have 4 type of laksa, one is Laksa penang, laksa johor, laksa sarawak and another one is laksam from kelantan, the taste is quite different, at johore the famous food is nasi beryani, kacang pools, mee bandung muar and much more
JB is considered the outskirt of Singapore which is in need of bigger space and workforce. Both cities complement each other nicely. More and more companies from Sg will be taking advantage of these.
Johor is still considered a Malay state as majority of population are Malay, but as other big cities in Malaysia Johor Bahru is multicultural and multireligious city. The most famous Johor food specialities are; 1- Laksa Johor 2- Mee Rebus (Boiled Noodle) 3- Mee Bandung 4- Otak-otak 5- Kacang Pool (pool of beans) with thick bread for breakfast.

Hey Travels on Toast, I just watched your video and I must say it's really helpful and well made. I was wondering if I could help you design your thumbnails for better CTR? Wanna try out a free one?
Hi Olivia & Marco, you guy are so cool and very economy travel part of Malaysia. Johore Baharu are very big state. You should visit Kota Tinggi " Water Fall". While you are in JB, should visit Selera Johore near Larkin bus terminal there you can find all malay authentic food. All stall are walking distance. And also visit Muar or Batu Pahat. Enjoy keep on exploring and be safe, with your bike you can reach all Malaysia state. I enjoy your video
I find Johor not so exciting for me but it has a good bus stop at Larkin you can go anywhere cheap even to Singapore for a day trip but you don't need a bus you have your scooter.
RTS Link project is a future connectivity project between Malaysia and Singapore. As a local lives in Johor Bahru, I would've like to visit shopping malls like The Mall in Mid Valley or the City Square in Johor Bahru city.
Johor laksa differ from the other version because instead of using rice flour noodle they used spegetti and the gravy is usually thicker in consistency
Personally, even as a Malaysian, it's hard to say what to do in Johor Bahru when planning a vacation. I think Johor Bahru feels like Kuala Lumpur-just another big city center BUT with no unique landmark or identity. So it's better to go to KL instead of Johor Bahru. Maybe it's because I'm not from Johor and don't live there. So, maybe any Malaysians watching this video can give suggestions if they have any.
You're not wrong by any means necessary, my JB friends brought me around for food trips where we ate from morning to night 😂 it's a different fun in JB I guess not complaining 😊
Malaysian myself, I think Johor still lack infrastructure that supports urban lifestyle such as open green parks, lane/streets of cafes/food vendors, ‘fashion malls’, educational parks, & lack of sidewalks.
Same view here. Johor Bahru is not walkable at all, especially in residential neighbourhood. Ilegal food vendors are sporadic and affecting the traffic. MBJB continues to turn a blind eye. Also, somehow I find JB people (especially in my Taman) love to ride very loud motorbikes. Overall it is not a conducive place for long term living, especially near JB town. It's only suitable for people who commute to Singapore to work daily.
wow... yeah you should try the Laksa Johor and its hard to find in any food stall or any warung. Laksa Johor got a lot of ingredients and fish as a protein. If you guy ride through Pontian, Benut then Batu Pahat. Batu Pahat is my home town, my treat Laksa Johor if you headed here. Please do msg me if you are interested. i've been watching your journey a lot from your videos. A lot of information..
JB is Malaysia 3rd biggest city i believe...nothing fancy there except food i believe....expensive like KL except for the singaporean that always came to shop and fill in their tanks for subsidary petrol in JB....that what i think as the local....come visit us in N9....there is more nature than meets the eye lol
they key to safe riding is not go too fast..remember guys..in mlysia road accident is so high..thousand of cases. hundreds of death each year. even professional rider no gurantee to be 90 percent safe..boz among others the attitude of motorists (in mlysia) wth regard to obeying road traffic laws..
Terlalu banyak tempat menarik di Johor di setiap daerah-daerah di dalam Johor tradisional kampung dan pulau2 rawa Mersing dan banyak lagi yang orang tidak tahu
So you went all way south and missed a good chance of going to Singapore?:) could be interesting for you to see SG at least for a day (accom is expensive) Do come back, it is a great small modern country
Fish head curry is quite expensive. The history is that the Chinese brought the menu for the Chinese workers who worked in Malaya. JB is more modern & developing. singapore was under Joho's rule
1:11 i assume you are driving through the EDL highway all the way until the end 😂 then you will end up in the CIQ custom....🤣🤣🤣 btw, greetings from Malaysia Johor Bahru City, next time you when back to JB area, i recommend you go to Tanjung Piai, full of nature there👍 Desaru is another place to visit near JB or if you like the mountain area, can vist Gunung Pulai Recreational Forest, if not JB City is just another business hub like KL City....from local opinion...😂
Im came from Terengganu. For me the second best Laksa in the world is Laksa Johor. The best Laksa we already knew it. Of course Terengganu/Kelantan laksa
You've been scammed by the 'foreign' monk selling bracelet. Just yesterday, I saw him in town and he stopped me, touched me and sounded the bell and wanted to sell me bracelets. I told him to go away. Real monks would never accept cash, only food and necessities. It's lame to come to another country and scam people let alone touching people.
JB is a run down poorly managed city - kept alive by venturing Singaporeans looking for 'cheap everything '. There's nothing exceptional on offer so best to move on quickly if u can.
Johor is one of the most rich state both in development n natural beauty. Only one hour from the big city you can enjoy the beautiful east coast beach, not include others attractions like waterfalls, tropical islands etc
You should visit Forest City because this city is listed as the most controversial and interesting in the world involving the Chinese project that failed due to COVID pandemic
You guys are crazy..travelling all over the country with a small moped..i would've broke my back ❤😂

Wow! I have been watching your videos for close to 2 yrs now. As a fellow traveller myself, I am truly amazed by how you have done in for years.
Thanks for watching, it can be tiring at times but we love what we do 🙂

Hope that you guys have had a good time in JB.

if you go to Melaka after this, you can stay in hotel at melaka river. the night view there is beautiful.
You should try go to Desaru it has nice beaches. And the seafood there are really great but mind the prices.
I hope you guys enjoy the trip in my city

Why JB looked dirty from any other city’s in msia, surprised me

Laksa Johor uses spaghetti instead of normal laksa noodles
I just ate laksa johor today

Thank you for complaining about trash and homeless..government should take action and fixed problems..

You should go to Forest City while in Johor
We wanted to but it was so rainy, we will come back next time
Unfortunately, Jb is boring asfk😂😂 the only reason why i still lived there bcs of its easy access to sgpore
u gotta visit Medini & Forest City
Are you guys still in JB? If you have some extra money to spend, try the "nasi lemak lobster". They have Alaskan king crab to go with the nasi lemak.
Border town of Spore?
