Looking at all of the different old castles on you tube shows you that castles not lived in fall rapidly into disrepair. This castle is not over the top modernized but is still beautiful and looks as though it would be comfortable to live in. In my opinion, the owners did an excellent job in bringing this up to date thereby saving another historic castle.
I like this. It's got a bit of everything. I think they've been quite respectful of the historical bones of the building without sacrificing modern living. I think they hit a sweet spot.
In my opinion this is absolutely outstanding, if I won the lottery I would buy this in a heartbeat! Love the glass roof room. I also love the kitchen unlike some other commenters. This would be a perfect home for my family.
Personally I wouldn’t worry too much about the kitchen , my private chef would be in there more often than me ….I’d be gardening , growing my own vegetables and caring for my rescue dogs ….oh not forgetting polishing my classic Morris 1000
Each to their own, but if I could afford a place like that, I would have more than a Morris Minor to polish, and I would be too busy using the land to shoot every variety of weapon I could legally own to bother about planting stuff....

I get the feeling you wouldn't have a private chef for too long so the kitchen 'would' need to be to your liking.
This is a wonderful and beautiful property. Good modern bathrooms and comfortable bedrooms. Wales is a great setting for this glorious castle. There should be a lot of interest in this property.
Well, everything was going very well until the godawful kitchen was revealed. Still, a tremendous property for a very finite set of potential buyers. A great and rare opportunity.
Beautiful - and in my favorite place too - I love Snowdonia ! This looks like an 1895 or so 'medieval castle' to me, judging by things like the staircase - did you put the build date anywhere ? I think most of the decor is rather lovely - some gorgeous fabrics & wallpapers in those rooms. I think it is well worth the asking price, but just too much for just a home - a hotel, or event place is more likely. But those views are incredible !
stunning however getting more of a scottish vibe to the interior not a massive fan of the tiles around the round bath and for sure the kitchen does not feel right for the building but id still have it if i could afford it
Everything is beautiful...except that kitchen. What a tragedy. If I ever had the kind of money it would take to purchase this home, I would gut that kitchen, and redesign it to fit more with the esthetics of the period in which it was constructed.
Well said, they have rendered the kool old building totally charmless. The interior has that developers show house look, brash bling, cliched & totally devoid of an aesthetic connection with the structure. There should be “Taste Police”, 😂. I am a Designer, Interior & Landscape, I’m not anti modernist or post modernist but design should have a symbiotic relationship with its architecture or location. I recently completed a commission to Design a large Landscape feature in a $52+ million office development in DFW, (Dallas), and it was designed to compliment & enhance the contemporary architecture. Unfortunately people by & large “go shopping” and it all goes awry, But each to their own. The whole interior in this instance would have to be ripped out & flung in a dumpster.
I mean you can remove the kitchen the rest that's ok because nothing romantic about bad plumbing or original bathrooms that are always cold, believe me I grew up in an Elizabethan manior, very pretty but very cold
What in the world does Trump have to do with the viability of this castle? I’m not sure what world you live in but restoring historical ruins does cost money. Would you rather see it going the way of the “dodo bird”! And bringing politics into this discussion seems in poor taste on your part!
Modern design inside a castle look really bad. There has to be better ways to modernize the inside without destroying the original look. Ruined the inside, lousy interior designer.
It lost its charm. It’s like London, no longer an English city because they changed it beyond recognition it’s more akin to a typical third world country

What a great blend of ancient and modern, stunning property, offered at a good price.

This is so nice very elegant and not over the top. Whomever did renovation, did an excellent job
The music is completely over the top. It's a gloriously perfect setting. Highly desirable, although the carpets are appalling.
Absolutely beautiful.
Beautiful and contrary to some, I think the kitchen is bloody awesome 👏
Beautiful property and lots of possibilities 🌷🌟...

Stunning home with spectacular views - real old school decor so maybe one for Tom Jones, it’s not unusual! 😎

Stunning property, but the kitchen not so hot
Beautiful building but that kitchen! I usually love log burners but a castle requires roaring open fires and real wood floors not carpet
Wow - a lovely property. But, if I bought it, I’d need to search out an old, proper kitchen setup and replace the sore thumb that’s there now.
Size of the property, acreage? size of the castle?
8000 sq ft, 41 acres
Omg that is the price of an average house in San Francisco.
They shouldve done it more neutral. Even a blind man would h8 the decor.
Is it being sold furnished? Renovation has been done exquisitely. Lovely property.

No wooden floors, only carpet!

OMG!
A horror They have disfigured a historical construction with an ordinary nouveau riche aesthetic
Probably not that "historical", less than 200 years old. By UK standards, that's almost a "new build"!!! Seriously, not as old as it looks.
Beautiful setting. Awful suburban decor, but what do I know, perhaps Gran core is the latest trend.
Lovely on the outside. Characterless on the in. Some of the fireplaces 😮. What a shame
🎉🎉🎉
I want to work for my self so I can afford this
Will need a new kitchen, which is odd, because the bathrooms are fine. Obviously different person's design. Just meh.
Don’t sell it! Yet anyway, I’m going to win the lottery and I’ll be right back….
The renovations are tacky, especially the kitchens and bathrooms. Whoever bought it is probably spending a fortune to rip it all out.
That's one ugly kitchen, they stripped the property of its old charm to give it a modern look, absurd! They ruined that historical building.

I thought everything inside and outside was beautiful, stop your whining!
@@PaulRossi-kh4fn You can find that look in any cooky cutter neighborhood. You need to get an interior design class!!!
You obviously don't have taste at all. The modern kitchen and everything else internally and externally has enhanced that castle so saith the King.
😍
And they turned it trashy with can lights WHY oh WHY Trump is proof that money cant buy good taste and heres another example.
You obviously have never seen a home owned by Elton John or Liberace. Chill on your Trump derangement syndrome.

£2.75 Million Castle in Wales ... for the price of a bedsit in London.
Wales, you've gotts do better!
Whats the annual property tax? Can transaction be made as gift to avoid tax and just pay under the table?
