@@duba3575 NerdEgghead is fantastic for feral druids. It’s one reason I’ve loved the class in TBC. He doesn’t make videos but he writes amazing Wowhead guides and has tons of good data-based information on the druid discord. I’m switching back to rogue though and am happy to have found Simon.
yeah tbh play whatever you want they are both like within 5-10% dps of each other. assassin is just easier to gear , play and general more damage early on because lack of arp.
loving the videos brother. i'm curious what spec and talent points you would go to have the easiest time leveling a rogue. maybe could make a short guide video about it
After doing some research, I've realized that Krol Cleaver might not be a realistic choice. People report drop rates of 1 in a couple thousand, most servers don't have a single one on the auction house. This seems pretty ridiculous to me compared to other items on this list. It takes weeks to farm it, but only if you're lockpicking at the avalanche for the entire day... :(
Thanks for the great guides as always! It would be really good to make a guide how to level and gear fast starting from lvl 70 for fresh realms. Which quests/dungeons to do, which spec for solo leveling etc.
What's up with: Patch 3.2.0 (2009-08-04): After much quiet contemplation, rogues now possess the ability to learn how to use one-handed axes Wouldn't it be better to go Orc instead of Troll?
Hello simonize, i am trying to be prepared with my combat rogue, but when i am reading trough guides, some of them prioritizes Armor penetration before Agility and others says Agi is better. I understand Hit/expertise but than i should focus which? Armor pene 1400 or just agi?
Hmm I had most of this gear my only issue is the weps I have sword of gin and greed I been farming for krol cleaver no luck is that still a optimal set up with weps???
Hey, fantastic video, I was wondering - What talent tree specialization do you prefer for combat rogue in wotlk? I know there is a pretty "standard" talent tree that most guides use but I wonder if it can be hyper-optimized and be even better. For example, most people ignore blood splatter talent in assassination tree that gives 30% rupture and garrote damage even though our combat rotation utilizes rupture. You could even go to improved poisons talent for more instant poison procs etc. I am hoping to achieve that and also have relentless strikes from subtley tree. So that we have the most energy regneration, as well as bleed and poison damage, on top of the sinister strikes and melee damage. I guess I'm wondering if you could please make a video about the most optimal talent tree spec for combat rogue as well as best openers and the general combat rotation that you prefer. Thank you.
that is true, but in every phase of the game, maces suck and there are much higher ilvl sword/axe/dagger/fist available that just outclass the maces due to weapon dps and secondary stats. maces are at best picked up and used for a little bit before obtaining bis or close-to-bis items.
@@SimonizeShow I’m not disagreeing, there’s really only one good mace in Wrath and it’s in ToGC, but even there, you have axes as well. I’m just saying that the mace talent is very good and if we do get Brewfest, there’s a good BoE option for your MH if you aren’t raiding Ulduar.
Hi Simonize! What do u think is better? assa or combat (phase 1)? I just see to much streams and in the top theres always a combat rogue and I would love to know your opinion. Niceand amazing video btw
I have an Expertise question Simon, Lets say you're an Orc with Greed in the MH and Paper Cutter in the Offhand as combat. How can i calculate my expertise needed? since i get the Orc racial on MH and not my dagger oh? Thanks as usual, really nice guides!
its different expertise for mainhand and offhand in that setup - offhand expertise still helps your damage but is much less valuable than mainhand expertise. usually i would just ignore the offhand expertise and don't worry about it.
How valuable is reaching hit rating cap in Wrath compared to TBC? You mentioned 17% to reach poison cap, but are rogues going to still try and reach the white hit cap (which I believe is 28% in current TBC)?
Poison cap is mandatory. Going for offhand hit cap is impossible casue is smth like 700 hit rating. As long as u are hit capped dont bother with it. Think about hit as any other dps stat
its that 1.3 speed. Lots of deadly poison procs which proc your instant poison dagger in the other hand. It's really only about speed and poison procs.
I have an UD Rogue. How much of a gain is it to be an Orc over UD in WoTLK. Axes really aren't available till late game, but there seems to be really good fist weapons in Naxx/Uldu. I am on the struggle bus on whether to boost an orc rogue and redo professions vs just staying UD. If we could get some approximate numbers of the racial DPS gains, that would be amazing.
I would recommend sticking with your Undead. Yeah, Orc will get a small bonus to axes (you get access to a good set of them as early as Ulduar) and of course the attack power bonus. But these are very small bonuses that won’t make or break your experience. If you can keep yourself positioned behind the bosses in melee, expertise is something you can skimp a little one.
The proc effects are the exact same spell id, so I would expect that the buffs do not stack. Exactly what the behavior is would need to be tested to be sure.
@@SimonizeShow If two trinkets share an effect ID, it would just only proc one at a time iirc, as the ICD from trinket A would keep trinket B on cooldown
Simon the video our wallets really need is how good is actually darkmoon card:greatness for rogues ? In both assasination and combat pre-raid it's already 2nd, not bis, how fast can we get two trinket that are better than greatness? If it's only for pre-raid and it's not going to be bis atleast going into ulduar, I'm for sure not buying it.

Any BiS gear guide comming soon?
What about dwarf? they get mace specialization you completly overlooked them in the expertise section
Nice guide, one question, how come Ap gems are better than agi gems?
i have glaives, carapace, duplicitous, leggings of immortal night, blackened naaru sliver and the 2pc. looks like i have a decent start!

the standard build is def 20/51/0 for combat, which you probably know by now since this comment is 2months old :P
Just curious, what spec are you going to be playing for naxx?
wher is dwarf and mace spec?
Dwarfs also get +5 Expertise on Maces as racial (whatever thats worth, since Mace spec is meh).
Mace spec in Wrath is quite good while you’re under arp cap, just not many good options besides brewfest mugs

There is no way sword spec is better than fist/dagger spec. 5% crit is just too much early on
