0:44 Dragan Mance, he was going to be one of the finest strikers Europe have ever seen, played 262 times for Partizan scoring 145 goals...He died in car a accident at the age of 22, today theres a street in belgrade holding his name ...

Look how all the R's forwards were running into the box hungry to score. Now they are lucky if they score more than one in a game. Most of those are either scrappy or from set pieces goals.

It's a bit sad to see this clip. I was at the game, in the stands the same side as the camera. Like the Reykjavik tie in the first round, it was a pretty pathetic turnout where we only had to get to the other side of London (remember how many Rs fans were at Highbury for the FA Cup semi final v WBA two years earlier?). It's also sad because this was really the last hurrah for a great team. Mullery's appointment was bad news from the start, and the 4-0 loss in the second leg saw his downfall.

This really good QPR side broke up during this season. Great shame they couldn't keep Terry Venables for, at least, one more year. Having finished 5th the season before, who knows what they would have achieved. We'll never know !

yes pelted with stones and coins by partizan animals as they came out of the tunnel. In these more enlightened times the tie would have been awarded to qpr and you would have been banned from europe. stuff your regards

Bumped into an ex Rangers player recently who shall remain nameless and he said Mullery was easily the worst manager he ever played under
PS Peter Hucker said the same live on radio

I seem to remember that was with 10 men as well, also remember a young Martin Allen coming on and looking pretty good. It's a lot easier to destroy a great team than build ones Alan Mullery proved. Great night and slightly surreal atmosphere but we were giving it large on the way back to the tube.

@cbak12sg I wonder why they didn't play the ties at Craven Cottage or even Stamford Bridge, would've made more sense geographically. QPR fans back then were not renowned for travelling - even for London derbies

Reckon if QPR played a European leg at Arsenal’s ground thesedays reckon QPR would pull a 30’000 to 40’000 crowd. Likely nearer or just over 40’000. Obviously, if it was something like QPR v Celtic/Man U/Dortmund/Tottenham/Real Madrid/Munchen/Rangers/Chelsea/West Ham/Leeds then it would be a fullhouse.
