Bro they got subbed in especifically for the penalties
Some of them cannot be repeated because of.. well, VAR.
Yup and nobody even wanted it to begin with
Absolutely. No doubt saving penalties is a difficult task, but many of these saves were made with the keepers off their line at time of the kick.
Thats a good thing tho, tho they were amazing, most of these were illegal saves
@@chrisbullard3123 check pirlo’s penalty against dudeck. He almost hugged pirlo going forward 😂
@@soposh5673 I did, keeper can cut off a lot of angle by being off the line. Rules are there for a reason.
Saves can still be done, seen loads of penalty saves even with VAR for keepers.
Ahaha I was hoping to see Galatasaray's Melo. Came at 05:46 Thanks for including it also :)
You guys missed claudio bravo in Chile against Portugal
So many of these should have been taken again due to the keeper coming of his line before the ball is struck.
People will say I'm being petty but In a game of inches leaving your line early makes so much difference .
Fully agree!
Does it really matter all that much? Most of the time they are just guessing which way the ball will go. It's just as common to see the goal keeper dive on the opposite side that the ball goes...
"Penalty Saves that cannot be repeated" yea because most of them would be retaken for line infringement haha.
The infringement rule is pretty new. It's pretty dumb to retrospectively judge historic videos with a modern lens because you come across as overlooking the value of what these penalties were.
georgeous and underrated epics saves... when goalkeepers become heroes right?
The first goalkeeper, Ross Gellar, was incredible.
I'm incredible.

3:47 is a BOSS save. That's the kind of save a forward never lives down lol
that was not real it was an ad

I expected to see the wonderful saves from the Nigerian goalkeeper in the Nigeria vs Spain under 17 worldcup finals penalty shootout of 2007(if I'm not mistaken). Ajeboye saved all goals for Nigeria, giving them the world cup victory.
Who cares about Nigeria under 17 team
@@diegomaradona1436 you probably don't considering you impersonate a dead man, but its a game of football regardless.
Gotta love it when outfield players have to stand-in for a goalie that's been sent off and then they save the ensuing penalty. Lol.

@@DC-uf7yx It has been in place as is since 1997. Referees just didn't do their job competently as often

@@etcaetera4687 Except one is real, the other is fake
3:30 is NOT a great save. The keeper had a piece of paper with a statistical analysis indicating where the shooter was most likely to kick the ball. That being said, it was very smart move by the Germans.
AWESOME post!!! Thanks!! Subscribing!
Aqui no BRASIL temos sim ótimos goleiros.
Um deles é TAFAREL q.foi campeão MUNDIAL em 1994 foi um ótimo pegador de pênalti.
Se for assim Diego Alves só pegou cobranças de Messi e Neymar, séria o melhor pegador de panal

Who’s watching this after Portugal VS Slovenia where Diogo Costa made that last minute save against an attacker 1v1, went to penalties and saved THREE in a row, leading Portugal to the quarter finals and replacing Ronaldo’s tears of sadness with tears of joy? What a legend!
