The very first Rated R ccomicbook hero movie.Theres a comic that has Darkman meeting Ash from "Army of Darkness"I know what you're thinking"Hail To The King Baby"
The best comic book movie that wasn't based on any comic book is The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. They have tons of Easter eggs throughout the film for everyone who reads the comic books and knows all the deep lore about buckaroo banzai. Except... nobody has read the comic books, because they don't exist. The film is packed with all this deep lore that's just all made up for the film and never was intended to actually be anything. They even promise a sequel at the end of the film even though they knew there'd never be a sequel. It's just brilliant And of course as everyone knows, Buckaroo Banzai has _THE_ best end credits scene of any movie. Just go look it up on RUclips, just search "buckaroo banzai end credits" to see what I mean
I watched this in 1999 when I was 10 years old...I still remember..watched in hbo..loved Liam.neeson so much in this..this movie is more of emotional.sad ..my golden childhood
@@bernaydaughterof5phantomso351 They didn't ask for your input on what your favourite Liam film was 😂 shut up. He said what his fav film is. If he wanted to mention those other films he would've included them.
We must be the same age and have the same style of father lol. He wasn't the type to watch a movie alone whether it be horror or violent, so from the age of 4 I would watch movies with him often with my fingers over my eyes 😂😂😂😂
Dark Man is a underrated Comic Book Movie. I'm getting exhausted from all these remakes/reboots that Hollywood have been doing these days. However, I would not mind if they did a Dark Man remake.
With Sam Raimi back in the spotlight with Dr. Strange, there are now talks of a true Darkman sequel with Raimi. Liam had always said that he would do it if the script was right. Being a 60+ year old action star, no problem there!
turns 30 today! I saw it a few years back on tv. A lot of people forget this was Sam Raimi's first comic book movie pre-Spider-Man. Shame though he doesn't want to revisit it since it was a tough time for him as a director. Liam Neeson does a great job playing a man who takes on many faces using synthetic skin. Amazing makeup effects, crazy camera angles, great score by Danny Elfman, and great bloody violence. Has that classic monster movie tragedy angle going for it too particularly Phantom of the Opera. The interesting thing is Universal actually snuck behind the filmmakers backs and edited the final product down. Thankfully the movie still worked and made no. 1 at the box office when it came out. The success spawned many books, video games, action figures, even an unaired tv pilot. I'm very happy without this movie and Spider-Man the Marvel Cinematic Universe would never have come about.
This trailer always brings back memories. Great movie. I remember it being on the VHS tape of Tremors. I watch Tremors so many times as a kid that the darkman trailer is imprinted in my mind. All great memories

I remember seeing this trailer before the Arnold Scwarzenneger movie, "Total Recall" in 1990 and thinking, "Damn! I'd rather see this movie now instead!" Well I did a month later and LOVED it. This has got to be one of the best movie trailers ever.
There is fundamental problem with the Acid scene. You don't push someone in the acid like as if it was simple water. Because when you do, acid will splash into you too.
0:52 This theme of music is so great but I can't find it. Even poking around the soundtrack / score online. Is it in the soundtrack but I missed it somehow?
Perhaps someone else has mentioned it already, but I love the use of James Horner's score from 'Brainstorm' in this 'Darkman' trailer and it's one of reasons I saw the movie in a theatre in 1990 when it was released and the movie itself had a great Danny Elfman score. :)
Darkman just didn't get the epic stories he deserved. When he first hit the scene he was a fresh and completely fascinating hero. He came, he saw, he kicked some evil @$$, then he faded away. ☹️
Can somebody please tweet Sam Raimi and tell him we need a updated 2024-25 version of this movie with Liam Neeson reprising his role as Darkman! Thank you kindly! 🙏🏼
Wow I had no idea dark man was a super hero that endured damage on his whole body and face that scarred him even his face for life I wonder if the lab accident gave him power smh poor guy,the bad guys that destroyed his life I bet had paid a lawful price
A lot people say that the Spider-Man trilogy with Tobey McGuire was directed by Sam Raimi. But this movie looks really interesting and it’s has Master Qui Gonn known as Ras Al Gruel.
i love to root for neeson in this film yet there are things about this film that make you have empathy for neeson and sympathize with the scenarios: 1. the fact that peyton westlake should have focused more on his relationship with julie than how the fact that durant (larry drake) comes in and annoys everyone, 2. durant is basically like a poor man's version of the villian joker that jack nicholson plays in batman, except for, the hero has the accident and not the bad guy had both durant and westlake had gotten in that same accident, things would have been different durant would look more like how nicholson did in batman, and neeson would have survived the accident without any bruises, thus making the westlake character more likely to be able to carry out a similar batman like code that not only protects julie, but makes certain that westlake was able to take down durant and his goons and bring them in to the police

Hollywood would just ruin it like they are with all their woke pandering. They would probably cast a black pansexual transgender deerkin as Darkman.
