I think it's wonderful that you are bringing back plants & flowers that would have grown on your farm generations ago. I know ppl are anxious to see the house done. Me too. But you have it stable & it will keep. The land needs constant maintenance so it doesn't get away again. You seem like a truly good human being Robert. It would make my day to meet you in person. Grow on good sir.

Wonderful video Mr. Robert. I can remember years ago taking nephews to NC and how enthralled the were about the many rows of cotton we drove past. We stopped and asked if they could each pick a boll. He gave each of them a branch. The Michigan boys were so amazed and listened intently at his tale of cotton. One still has his many years later. I'm sure he'll be amazed to know all the co.ors cotton actually comes in. Thanks for the lessons of times long gone.

Maybe the brown cotton was not desired by manufacturers. Maybe they could only grow for personal use. It makes you wonder. You are right, the rule was not in favor for the slaves.

Thanks for sharing your feats with us. It's always fun to add you to our day. I'm already praying that any boll weevils make a hard pass around the Old Byrd Farm.🙏🏼 Nothing to see here, you little buggers!😊

Cotton is something I have no experience with it will be interesting to see your crop progress. I wish you success.💞We are being told rough weather headed here tonight into Thursday with tornadoes, and hail. Remember us in your prayers. And to buy it it is VERY expensive! If you would just pot up some starts and come up here and sell it you would have enough cash to finish the Byrd farm and clear the land and build a museum for all your old cars! Thanks hope to see you up here selling plants! Debbie C.

Picking cotton was horrible work and it sure cut your hands. Now I know why farmers back in the day had slaves, they did not want to do that work. I am looking forward to seeing your cotton grow.

Like tons of other people said on here I wasn't aware of the different colors that cotton comes in. I wonder if a person could avoid using dye in cotton thread and fabric if they just used the natural colors cotton comes in. I also wonder if maybe the different colors may be of a different quality, ie. not as good or durable as your regular old white cotton and maybe that's why you don't see the different colors today.
