- In this video, we’re loading up the Jeep Gladiator and heading to the dump with a fresh haul of 200 pounds of trash from the Old Byrd Farm house. While it sounds like a lot, it’s actually a lighter load compared to the over 1000 pounds I've hauled out in the past. Join me as we continue the cleanup journey, clearing out the old house and making more room for future projects. It’s just one more step in bringing this old place back to life!

The fact that your dump has a paved road all the way back 🤣 ours you go down a dirt road to get there and hope you don’t get run over by one of the dump trucks coming from there down this small road, then the whole thing is dirt once you go past the weigh in I wouldn’t doubt that it’s 1-2 miles back to where you actually dump stuff last time it was up a hill you throw the stuff out and they push it in the hole! And bumpy as all get out! 🫣
I realize that it takes a lot of extra time and work to make a video for all of us to watch. Knowing that I almost always give a thumbs up and comment if I have something worthwhile to say. I say almost because sometimes I just forget. Thanks for what you do .

I really love that wooden door where you were taking the garbage out from. The carving on that door is beautiful! You get some really wonderful carvings/images in those old houses. I'm glad you got more things out of the house, I know it's a tedious job but it has to be done. Take care of yourself, Robert. Those summer colds are horrible.

When we lived on an acreage (a lifetime ago), we had to make regular trips to the dump. Back then it was just a huge pit with no organisation.
My husband was unloading the truck when our toddler said look at that big kitty. It was actually a young black bear. I quietly told my husband to stop & get back into the vehicle immediately.
So many years later & we still have a chuckle over the ‘big’ kitty.

Robert, I am so glad for you that you took some time off and away from the farm. Everyone needs breathing room and a change of pace. I hope you feel renewed. ❣The amount of trash thus far 31.25 tons, including today. How do I know? From video work weight! 🥵 Clearing up the old barn alone was a HUGE undertaking. Think of all the wisteria and privet hedge you have cut and burned!! Such a peaceful ride along even to the dump! Glad to see The OBF as it was this day, its like home to me. 👍👍❣❣

Going to the dump sure has changed from back in the day when I went to the dump. I loved going and getting rid of my junk and searching for new junk to bring home.😂
I did that too. I didn't have to search. Stuff would just yell for me to take it. My ex got to where he would go to the dump instead of me because I sometimes came back with more than I took. Rofl!
I remember as a kid in Oregon (55 yrs ago😳) going to the dump with my parents. I think we got a tricycle there once. It felt like treasure hunting!

Dad always insisted that broken glass goes in boxes, never in bags. Good job getting rid of the garbage, it was a lot of light stuff that takes up more space than heavy stuff, don't underestimate the task. Big difference in space after the bags were taken out. Feel better soon, you've had a tough summer.

First impressions of the Gladiator's deck are that it is quite deep, so it was not a surprise that it could take a bit of rubbish away from the OBF.

I like that dodge dart. My family had one brand new in 73 I learned to drive on it too. It was a copper brown color with black and white checked seats.

It’s been pleasant this week here in Ga! Oh hopefully the nice weather sticks! I understand not being able to bear the heat,I work in a factory with no Air conditioning. 🥵 OBF is looking really good. It’s a beautiful day today
I have to admit I’m really slacking trying to keep up with you n the OBF. I’ve been so busy n having company that I haven’t had the time. Hopefully it will slow down. Taking one day at a time hoping for cooler weather. It’s really hot n definitely humid here in Florida.
Well you can start right now keeping up what’s left in the house (trash) from now on. You said there’s still a lot more left. I bet you’ve gotten rid well over a 1,000 lbs. or much more.

You really need a camera man or woman. You could mount a camera on your person like your head or chest. Because I wish you were able to produced more videos on both channels. The old house on our property is going through a cleaning out by me ha ha. Slowly doing it. Half of room 1 is clean and floor is sort of reinforced enough ha ha. Sunday is my next day off, I'll clean the other half then. Brent looks like he's busy. I saw he did a new post. I'm going to see what he's been up to in that video.
I saw Brent at the Pokeweed last Fri. He said you weren't feeling so good. Eve had something for a few days and then I had a sinus attack that put me out for the last few days. Somebody says the Hickory trees are pollinating like crazy this year. I just know it felt like someone took the flat head screwdriver out of my knee (I got the 8 gauge needle shot in the knee finally) and stuck it in my head behind my eyes. Anyway, pool ops have not closed all the way, but are probably ending soon (Scott).
I cannot wait to see the front tidy and clean and organized. It makes my fingers itch when you leave stuff lying around and aggravates the ocd gene 😸

You've got some gorgeous countryside out there! I fell in love with some of those houses. The OBF is right up there with the lovelies you passed on the road. You give 1,000% to everything you do, and it shows. The OBF is coming along beautifully.

Hey, you might want to ask the employee inside the weigh station if they keep their records on the computer. If they do, maybe they originally entered your license plate or name and each time you return they just add to their database. If so, you should be able to get her/him to add up some totals for you or make a list for ya ... I don't know if they run the dump like they do the recycling centers, but if they do they should have a total tallied.

I always appreciate when you show the process and work it takes to clean up a place like this. I have a couple big house clean up/out projects weighing on me and I'm at the point where when I get overwhelmed by it I'm just think of OBF and say WWRD? And the answer is you would put your head down and move the project forward one step. And hauling off 200 pounds of garbage sounds like a pretty good step to me! It's also just fun to get to tag along on this project and watch how things are slowly but surely coming back to life. So much inspiration on this channel. The effort you go to in documenting it (filming, editing, etc.) is very much appreciated!

Hi from north wales . Here we have a recycling centre and most of it has to be sorted before you go in .its free but limited to what you can take and how many times a month you can go there 🙁
Crazy how far it is from the scale to the dump station itself ! Ours you drive up to the scale and then about 200 feet to the facility.
I know it sounds crazy, but I used to LOVE going to the dump with Daddy when I was a kid. It wasn't anything more than a big, long hole in the ground that they ran a tractor over now and then to pack it all in. That and all the derelict "stuff" they had piled all around. It didn't smell very good. I was always afraid he was going to back up too far and we'd take a ride we didn't intend to take. I guess doing anything with Daddy was an adventure back then.
You did say how hot it has been in Georgia all summer, Nebraska has been the same with at least equal humidity. I wondered why there haven't been OBF videos lately and taking a break from them is good for mental health, one of the reasons why you vacate on vacation. Surprised that the last section of the bed cover doesn't fold away to open up the whole bed.

You can stack old tires and fill with soil and use them as planters to grow tomatoes. Keeps the heat and moisture in the soil.

You know he was holding a camera in one hand and loading the bucket with the other, right? Even when he was loading the truck, he had to put the bags in just right so they would fit and some of those bags were on the heavy side. Plus he is sick and not up to his best atm. Give Robert a break. You could always go and help him.
