As a kid I'd sit out on our big old front porch ,with my dad .when it was storming on our metal porch glider.he'd sit in his favorite porch chair and comment on the weather .

We Have a steel roof here on our home, in upper northeast illinois, and though I love the sound of the rain hitting it, my little dog doesn't, she is scared of the rain and thunder. Imagine in the 1930's whim many famers got electricity on their farms & how they felt. My grandfather, born in 1884 lived to long enough to see 1st car, 1st airplane, T/V, man land on moon. When I ask him greatest invention of his lifetime, it was getting electricity in farmhouse in 1934.
My grandpa was born in 1908. He lived to 2002. He saw the first cars, the first plane, WWI, WWII, the landing on the moon, the ISS, and the new millennium!
I love it... so peaceful, the fire crackling, the rooster, Jerry, the song birds, the rain, thunder, the showroom.... my favorite place. Gotta love your curtains, great lantern, barefeet comfortable too. Electric, awesome!! Wish I'd been there to share some coffee or sweet tea and good convo. My new favorite relaxing OBF video. Everything is so green and pretty 😀 where I live in southeastern Massachusetts we have a lot of moss mixed in with the lawn and on the hillsides At this time of year I feel like I live in Ireland ! ☘️
Wow Robert! Just noticed how high your ceilings are! Here in Pa. the old farmhouse ceilings are 7'6" downstairs and 7' upstairs! People in Ga. must have been much taller than people in Pa! Nice video buddy!

I've been thinking of you folks, as I watch the national weather reports.---Amazing storm capture. I get rain storms, but electrical storms are as rare as hen's teeth because we're too close to the coast. Your storm reminded me of those on the prairie of North Dakota!

We had nasty thunderstorms come through Central Alabama last night between 12-4 am. One of my dogs has severe anxiety with them. Even with her Thundershirt and medication, she had a rough time. She laid on my chest, while I was sitting in the recliner. I even had the TV sound loud to help drown out the thunder. We finally were able to go to bed around 4 this morning. Luckily, there was no damage. Usually when storms like this come through, I have limbs from my trees on my property. My fence in several places have been badly damaged in the past.
A big ole house sure can get lonely. I'd get spooked in there by myself. You're doing a great job, Robert. So happy you've got a good solid roof overhead and electricity. Moving right along. Blessings from Michigan.

Robert have you ever thought about planting some corn on the back part of the house and raising some more vegetables back there I believe that would be a great spot to plant some corn and you could use it to feed the chickens and guineas as well just saying
Hope you didn't get tornadoes, been bad everywhere so far this year. I'm in MI and Wed. we had 6 tornadoes on the ground at the same time...that never happens here.
They won't let you do this kind of burning in Fresno California. My late grandfather used to burn leaves from the trees in the gutter, but that's banned now.
