I use the UTG pic risers and they are great. Using blue Loctite I've never had any come loose or lose zero and I like that they have the square insert that lays in the picatinny slot so it doesn't just rely on friction. Good vid!
Interesting - I have all American parts on my builds except UTG backups flip up rear/fixed front. I haven’t went to war with them but they have kept zero and i shoot such nice groups with them that I’ve never wanted to even change them. I just recently added optics. I ran irons for 2 years
@@Print2shoot I have those UTG sights on one of my ARs. They take up less space than the MBUS, so I was able to fit a magnifier farther back with them 👍
The best budget oriented risers I have found have been the YHM half inch and inch risers. You should check them out. They're machined nicely out of aluminum in the US and are anodized. I've compared them with the Unity Fast Eotech risers and they hold zero great. They are a one piece design with yfs fasteners but if anyone's on a budget that's what I recommend. Haven't tried any other budget options though. Great video.
After over a decade in aerospace and defense manufacturing i will say that i see no issue in buying a cheaper block of 6061 to bolt your optic to. Machining a riser is simple enough that you shouldnt over stress its quality. If you want to be a snob i get it. I can be too. But just be aware that it isnt necessary. Personally i wouldnt use an airsoft mount because im quite snobby about parts.. but if you are on a budget feel free to skimp on solid aluminum pieces over other things.
agreed 100% 👍 I tend to replace a lot of the cheaper parts eventually anyway. I still like to buy cheap to test out what I like before committing to paying the high end stuff. Id rather have a drawer full of cheap Chinese spare parts than expensive stuff 😂
I have the larger 13 slot UTG and smaller 3 slot UTG's as shown in .5" height on a build. .5 sounds like nothing but it set the flip ups and optic perfectly. They have been perfect. No issues.
I came to a similar conclusion. I just got a .5 upper length riser and mounted my red dot and magnifier to that because I didn't want to guess at finding the right height for the red dot and the magnifier separately. I liked that better with nods than the superhigh unity height.
yes, I did that initially. But Monstrum makes a 1/2 inch riser that fits and looks better with an eotech. I like it better than the UTG riser for an eotech or larger optic.
I couldn't wait for your video and bought a Phoking riser. First twos a little cockeyed, so I'm gonna exchange them until Amazon tells me to pound sand.

I’d really appreciate the help bro hopefully something works
an absolute height magnifier should work fine with a lower 1/3 eotech. The window on eotechs are large, so that helps. All of mine have worked, but it will look a little weird, since the Eotech will be taller.
Hey bro so monstrum had this riser like the one you have the eotech sight latched to. But it's longer. Like 13 slot. Goes up to .88inch now would that be a better option to have a sigh/magnigfier combo then having the one riser plus the utg little riser ?
