la vidéo la plus extraordinaire que je n'ai jamais vue pour une aquarelle tellement vivante, j'adore le "loose" je l'utilise mais là je vais le peaufiner, un grand merci et un grand bravo
Reading the other comments, I see that I'm not the only one afraid to put that first bit of paint on paper. It is so intimidating. You are so relaxed about it and seem to have so much fun with it, I may try it again. I hope to see more of your videos. :)
What I like about her tutorials is she tells you how to use the brush, which part of the brush, what to do with the water, the paint, etc. What's great too is she doesn't go on and on about things that a newbie to watercolor isn't interested in . . . yet. Certainly plan to try this one!
Emm, I'm a wee bit late to the party but wanted to say that your poppy painting is beautiful and the techniques are a great help to those of us struggling with loose. Thank you!
I’m not sure how many times I’ve watched this video in the last 6-8years. Obviously I still enjoy it but more importantly whenever I feel that I my painting is getting tight it always puts me in the right path. Many thanks Joanne!
Love your technique, Joanne! Beautiful! You define the term "loose painting". This is certainly the time for letting go with the paint to experience FREEDOM!!! Freedom for everyone on Earth!!!
Thank you Thank you Thank you! It is so important to be reminded that the goal is not perfection, not to stay within the lines... As an aspiring artist I have to constantly slap myself on the hand, to remember to have fun while learning... Your tutorial class is a peaceful heaven, and off course, those two factors light and negative space are a fantastic way of creating a (hopefully) masterpiece!
What a lovely demonstration! As a new and easily intimidated watercolorist, I can’t wait to try these beautiful poppies! BTW, I laughed out loud at “ happy and unhappy accidents”. So true in life, and even more so in watercolor! Thank you so much! Judy Nelson
oh, my gosh! I can't believe you turned it upside down and then shook it! Freaking out! Thank you for rocking my world. I love your bravery and courage.
I love your tutorials, your use of colour, the looseness of your paintings and your enthusiasm. You are an inspiration. I've tried your sunflower, tulips and now the poppies. Awesome!!!
Joanne, you are awesome. I could listen to you all day. I love that you share your talents and make it less scary to jump in and try your techniques. Thank you.
I recently found a photo that spoke "paint me loose" to me. The only problem is that I really have no idea how to do that. So, I turned to youtube. While I found some nice videos, none really showed how to paint a loose flower painting. Until I found yours. Extremely helpful. Thanks so much!
This is one of my very favorite paintings I have ever seen, and it was my extreme honor to have watched it be painted. I would kill to have that hanging framed in my home. You inspire me. Thank you, Kandi Heller
Joanne you are one of the wonderful painters I watch and learn from. You always make me feel that what I am doing is not hard but possible if I just "let go". While I am a less "loose" painter because of my personality(!), I always learn from you to let go and have fun. We don't need to be one or the other "kind" of painter. Thank you for all your encouragement!
I’ve probably watched this a dozen times in the past year. And every time I learn something more. Thank you for sharing your daring and yet caring techniques.
Loose painting really helps to overcome thinking that everything has to be perfect with tonnes of details. Fantastic video and a very gorgeous painting!
Jan Lee, oh to be able to paint loose... I just can not help my self and go right back into details.. this was wonderful to see how you paint, thanks Jullane
This is the first real loose expression of flowers that I've seen on video. I really enjoyed following along with you and getting the feel of painting loosely. Thank you!
I am thrilled to find you again. I bought your "sunflower" tutorial 2 years ago when I started painting watercolors and pen and ink,-all your videos I could find til now! Thank You
You are so inspiring..doing the work very easily. After years Shortly i m going to start a project. Thank you very much. In your work special effect is camera angles. It is covered in different angles. So nice.
A fabulous tutorial on loose watercolour. I tried the technique. The first effort was OK. Learning just how much water to spray was the key. The second attempt produced a beautiful colourful loose painting that many of my friends have admired. Thanks so much.
I accidentally found your video and I m really glad that it happened. Wonderful work with pleasant appearance and the way you talk is really relaxing. ❤️
I love this, Joanne! I am wanting to paint more loosely and even though your technique of turning your painting upside down scares me, it's another hurdle to overcome and am looking forward to trying this. Thank you so much!
