GRC Circuit is broke in (now @ 2k kms) a/w PPF & Mud Flaps installed - time to get rowdy🤡 Bought the car as a utilitatian daily (cuz U gotta p/u beer). & have some fun on back roads (gravel & snow covered surfaces et al) I was on a well graveled road with plenty of banked 90 degree turns. They would have been a slam dunk drifting with any RWD vehicle - muscle memory would have kicked in. Heck even with my Fiesta ST (after 10 years of ownership) I could drifted those corner at speed, under relative control. BUT the AWD on the GR is a totally different dynamic for me. I did manage to slide around the corners but my inputs were pretty wooden & uncertain. With the extra forward moving traction it will take a bit to get a feel for that aspect. Good fun though & much it's better than expected. At 100 mph it feels just as planted as my 911's were (if memory serves) ie Walk in the park. (really)👍 At 125 mph it is fine but you have to pay more attention than @100! Now that I am actually "driving" this beast - A trip to the mountains will be inevitable.
@@1anre I already did a video on the GR86: ruclips.net/video/pPEuIyH2wMA/видео.htmlsi=JY4yjnLqf4qZ4ofM The Golf R is going to be more difficult. There is no press fleet at the moment for VW here in Vancouver 🤷♂️
Between my friends and myself im well familiar with STI, Evo X (and older) and Focus RS. This is a LOT better built and finished. All those cars had tons of issues, from engine issues in the STI, build issues ihe RS etc. Its like Toyota studied those cars and fixed all the issues. I do believe the Evos ability to vector torque side to side by overdriving the wheel (vs the Torsen) made it a bit more cool, but this AWD is very capable and more predictable. It will be on the roads driven daily much longer vs those cars as its a Toyota.
Only time will tell how durable this car is going to be with a 3 cylinder engine. I own a Mitsubishi Evo X and haven’t had any issues it’s reliable but if you plan to do mods to any car you have to expect breakdowns over time.
Most fun you can have on a twisty road?? Miata and 86 would disagree. I think this is amazing no doubt. Money no object the Evora /Emira are insane on a back road.
I had a great time driving those cars: ruclips.net/video/pPEuIyH2wMA/видео.html But I just found myself enjoying the GR Corolla more. Made me feel like I was 21 again. I'd love to try the Lotus cars one day.
You can get this car for less money than the Acura and it has AWD which makes it easier to control in snow & ice. But i'm sure the Acura has a nicer interior. I'll find out for myself when I review the car in November.
I bought my gr corolla 7 months ago after searching for a clean evo 8 or 9 for many many years with no luck. All of them clapped out 😢 Love love love my gr corolla so much but I still want w evo one day
Finding a stock or well taken care of Evo 8/9 will be difficult. But you never know, one might hit the market when you lest expect it. At least you have the GR Corolla to enjoy!
Thanks! Yea I've thought about doing shorts but it's more work and time is always the issue for me. This channel is just a hobby for me and I still have a regular 9-5 job and other things going on in my life at the moment. Perhaps one day I'll have more time to put into this channel but for now, it'll just be a new video every week and a written review on my website.

“Even at 6’ 4”….”So if you’re shorter than I am”. Who tf is taller than you? Shaq? 🤣
I mean... what if he does decide to buy one?? It's true, not too many people are taller than me but there some...
You pay for the transmission, drivetrain and the engine. So in my view it is DEAD CHEAP !!!!
Not if you include the dealership markups (10k). If you can find one for msrp or close to msrp, then it is an amazing deal, but good luck.
You're right. Very cool car.
not when you pay for the Chassis, Engine, DriveTrain, BBS, Recaro, Momo on the Evo 9, that doesn't overheat its AWD.
Canadian car youtubers are really improving.
Keep it up man, let me know if you want to review my 22' Si.
Thanks! I'll actually be getting the 2023 Si in October.... followed by the Integra Type-S. Expect those videos in early November.
@MGReviewsBlog Swell.
Make sure to get the Golf R & GR86 as well in the queue too.

Would you say that this car is comparable to the Integra Type-S? Both have turbo engines with roughly same hp & 6-spds.

This channel should have 100k followers at least. Noticed a lot of shorts ranking for carolla gr searches on YT, maybe you have to do both now?

This car needs more horsepower. The Evolution X had same. It can handle 100 more at least from factory especially with its awd
I think it's fine for a stock car. I'm sure the aftermarket tuners will squeeze 600+ hp out of this little engine at some point haha

Bro is trying way hard to be savage goose ‼️🪿🪿🪿‼️‼️🧍
Good video!!! Great presentation and you definitely care about production value more than 99% of the other guys out there :3
No no, I'm not trying to copy his style of videos. but yes, I do try my best to make a reasonably entertaining video :)

Nice! How long was the wait since you pre-ordered it?
