To add bold to text wrap a * around the text e.g. *word* or *multiple words here*. Also similar with italics, just add _ before and after text e.g. _italics_ or _add italics to this text here_. These features work good for a single or multiple sentences provided they are contained with a paragraph. If you create a new paragraph you need to apply the features again.
Or you could hold on a word and drag the blue thing around the whole message like on a computer, it'll give you different options like copy, paste, undo etc then you get the 3 dots, if u tap on the 3 dots it'll give a option to change the font

Never realized you can pause the voice messages, thanks! The desktop app is not independant from the phone though, and when i had it it was draining my phone battery while I was using it on my computer

Hi Joanne I was having a similar issue but I clicked the paperclip icon and a menu with the location button popped up and you can turn on the location form there. Whatsapp will ask you to allow location settings etc and you will be fine from there. Hope this helps! Keep safe and well.

My biggest problem with WA is that it quickly becomes overflooded with messages, most of which from groups I've muted (but still wish to remain a member of). As a result, when a new message comes in from a contact who I haven't muted, I find myself endlessly scrolling to find the relevant chat (or having to try and remember which contact it was and then use the search function to look him out). That was the old desktop app.
The new one is independent and works even with your phone off.
