Saw them in a tiny venue 10 minutes from where I live here in MD. Sadly a reunion will never happen or work in today's times (imagine how much scalpers would sell tickets for) unless it was a free benefit show Also to tie in the subject of this video...when I saw RHCP in 2003 I had backstage passes and couldn't meet the band because they were having dinner with Fugazi. Ian MacKaye and Joe Lally are longtime friends of RHCP. Ian produced the DC Ep for John Frusciante and Joe Lally was in the group Ataxia with Frusciante and current RHCP guitarist Josh Klinghoffer. I met Ian a few years ago when he played with The Evens and he said he was just on the phone with Frusciante before the show. Check out Frusciante's DC EP

I had no opinion of any of them until I read scar tissue. I think what I liked Most about Kiedis is how much he fucking loved his friends. He made me like Frusciante more than him. It was his own autobiography. He could have written to make John look bad but he didn't imo.
Kiedis is alright. Has a good enough voice that fits the music, has great energy etc. He is not the greatest frontman of all time by any stretch of the imagination, but he is alright
@Elizabeth totally, Flea and Frusciante especially are well respected and probably more famous than Keidis, very unusual because the singer usually gets all the attention
I mean he is not perfect, but he has that distinct and recognizable voice that kinda fits with the rest of the band. I can’t quite explain it but I believe having a mediocre performer amongst 3 legends is better than having four of those top tier musicians...

I don't listen to them as much as i used to but i think they'll always have a special funkin place in my heart... + they seem to be such likeable energetic chaps!
All three of them were on fire when they came out. I think BSSM took a little longer to make the rounds but Californication was legendary.
It’s crazy how every album they drop they get a new generation obsessed. These recent years have somewhat lacked that effect because of John not being in the band, but even John doesn’t know what the future holds for him, he could want to be in a rock band again some day. He just doesn’t know. These are his words btw
By the way sucked
@@NickB-md1oy - He actually just rejoined the band. In the past couple of weeks, I think
jajaja jason I knowww so crazy I made that comment just one month ago. I’m so hype
Let’s Argue: Does anyone eat melons not because of Fantano?
I'll admit, I actually can't eat melons now. I imagine glasses on them instead
when i'm about to eat melon i hear " this mouth was mediocre at best . Strong 4 "
Can't eat them anymore I'm afraid it might give my belly a 4/10
I'm melon intolerant :/
Jen I always loved watermelons and still do. They're the fruit I live off of, and good grapes.
Blood Sugar Sex Magik is a top 10 album of all time for me
Thank you
Super Sloppy 2 Handed McTwist you’re damn right
listen to more music
easily one of fav '90s albums
Michael Lopez first off you don’t what else I listen to.
Second, don’t tell me what to do
Damn that dude totally called that Synthwave prediction. It's bled into everything from pop with The Weeknd's Dawn FM, to freaking Lofi Girl making a new channel just for synthwave. I'm here for it.
I unironically think the RHCP are one of the best mainstream artists of the past 30 years.
Yep, I agree.
jimjam totheflimflam same
They are.
I agree!
Easy
Germany flagtano
I think Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters is the opposite of Nickelback and Imagine Dragons
So they’re all mainstream and successful bands but RHCP and FF actually have a good reputation
@@matthewcorcoran4718 RHCP and FF are generally enjoyed by everyone while Nickelback is generally hated by everyone. Most people know a couple songs of RHCP and like them and most people know a few Nickelback songs and hate them
Honestly I see Foo Fighters and Nickelback as almost identically bland and uninteresting, but that's just me.
@Volvandese FF are 100 times better than Nickelback. You can't compare the two.
@@definesucksex3212 You've got your taste, and I've got mine. There's no sacred line dividing which bands can and can't be compared. To me, they fall in the same category. I'm not telling anyone else that they have to feel the way I do about FF, I'm just saying that that's how I personally feel about them. If you like FF, cool. Enjoy. I don't, but so what?
The problem is the over-saturation of their music on the radio. I swear if I was to listen to the radio all day, I can guarantee that I will at least hear give it away 10 times from the same station. Maybe its just me or my local station, but its driving me insane.

Saw rhcp live in Auckland 3 days ago, they were mental
Flying to Egypt to see them this Friday!!!
Its so crazy that they're still able preform so well at their age
owly I saw them on Saturday, it was awesome!
@@ieatyourbrain8478 you fucking legend! Im hoping to catch the live stream
Can confirm! Saw em in Geelong. George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic also kicked ass
RHCP is simply one of THE BEST bands ever and their albums are always a new adventure
Anyone who says that The Red Hot Chili Peppers are bad are elitist at best
i dont like the fellas vocie
Well call me elitist at best
is that a fucking Supertramp pfp
Shitty product of Minutemen and Gang of Four.
Anyone who thinks someone that doesn't like a certain band is an elitist suck big pee pee

Put the bass down. You'll never be Flea, melon boy.

:( Aye c'mon
@@theR0ck3tsumm3r *tough love
Lost In Lucidity you do have a point tho😹
Ahaaaa this guy judges musicians and can't even play a solid bass line
I think The Getaway was a pretty damn good album. Red Hot Chili Peppers still got some jams
"Does anyone like the red hot chili peppers or do we all collectively say wow I like the red hot chili peppers?"
Me, with 3 albums in vinyl and a lot of the discography on spotify: yeah, they're alright
That guy that tweeted about Filthy Frank has obviously never heard of Kid Cudi, the father of emo rap
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh atmosphere?
Kid cudi’ hums cured my depression hbu?
I think a lot of people have done emo rap before Joji, but I think Joji was the first to really flesh it out
Cudi's 1st two albums were fire.
@@coolcatmcfat7658 don't worry. It's not like atmosphere, eyedea, sage francis and even brother ali didn't do the emo rap thing first in the late 90s and early 00s
They're my favorite band since I was 4 years old. I am offended by this.
Depression Cherry I’m going to write an angry letter 😠
Frusciante is the best thing they ever had. those early 2000s solo albums are all at least 8 imo
eden '02 too bad he’d rather make shitty electronic music :(
Jackson Muralt the trickfinger stuff I don't fuck with, that ep he made was nice tho.
but curtains is still in my top 3 of all time
Only let’s argue title that ever honestly offended me. RHCP forever
Nice to see socks is finally gettin into the dark prog game🏄🏄🏄
Soul to Squeeze is one of my favorite songs of all time. I never get tired of it. I don’t care about their other songs anymore though.
I do
That one concert they played on an irish castle is 10/10
Live at slane castle was awesome
There are far better shows than slane imo
06:20 I like how your language matches your shirt here
RHCP for lifeee. Blood sugar sex magik, Californication are great. One hot minute is criminally underrated
By the way is on par for me with Californication and Blood sugar, one hot minute has some awesome tracks also but the albums I mentioned first you can sit and listen to the entire album straight through
I hate to say someone’s opinion is wrong but BSSM is in a league of its own. By the way is amazing tho I can’t deny, John Frusciante is magic.
Flea is a god at bass
agreed! BSSM is one of my personal "no skips" albums. Listening to it feels so smooth, track order flows great, and that's not something I usually notice.
Idk why but the toothpaste part make me crack up so much hahah. Just your expressions of like "Seriously, these fucking internet people" but at the same time begrudgingly like "Fuck it, I'll just do it, the bathroom is right here." I mean is anyone excited about the toothpaste they use?
How to get synthwave to the mainstream: RUclips ALGORITHMS
How to get synthwave to the mainstream: Make a compilation and call it vaporwave in the video title.
Hot take: I miss fugazi
SITTIN IN THE WAITING ROOOOOM
YES. I love them so much. I still don't understand why many fans think their worst album is End Hits. For me it's the best.
Is that even an hot take?
I thankfully got to see them quite a few times because I live in Maryland so of course with them being from DC they played around here a ton. Saw them in a tiny venue 10 minutes from where I live here in MD. Sadly a reunion will never happen or work in today's times (imagine how much scalpers would sell tickets for) unless it was a free benefit show
Also to tie in the subject of this video...when I saw RHCP in 2003 I had backstage passes and couldn't meet the band because they were having dinner with Fugazi.
That's not a hot take at all. Also fugazi never officially ended I'm pretty sure
Destinys child and radiohead both slap hard bois change my mind
Ainsley's Chen I feel
That's not even an unpopular opinion
You're not wrong
This is one of the coldest takes that’s ever been said lmao
If you like Destinys Child, you should be listening to Donna Summers instead.
If you like Radiohead, you should be listening to Can instead.

I like Flea, Chad Smith, and John Frusciante, a lot.
Never really liked Kiedis.
hibba dabba hibba dooba california
I had no opinion of any of them until I read scar tissue. I think what I liked Most about Kiedis is how much he fucking loved his friends. He made me like Frusciante more than him. It was his own autobiography. He could have written to make John look bad but he didn't imo.
I met Keidis once. Very cool dude. Had a conversation with him for like 5 minutes
As a fan of Radiohead and thom yorke I feel completely attacked
Melon just went Sicko mode on every radiohead fan
I know. that was really aggressive.
dont worry anthony's just a corporate shill now haha
rhcp are like bud light. I wouldn't drink it by myself, but when I'm drunk with the bros it's alright
Perfect comparison
I can agree with this. I’d throw something like Doritos there in the mix too. Hence why I sometimes call music like RCHP & Foo Fighters “Doritos Music”.
"Hanging out with white guys" music
Agree. 100%.

John Fruciante is the best guitar player of the 2000s no doubt
copy of a broken machine not disagreeing but John Mayer deserves some respect
@@dream_in_digital in the popular music space at the time i think he is, maybe josh homme could give him a run for his money but johns solo stuff is where he really shines
Matt Bellamy and Jack White and John Mayer and Johnny Greenwood stand a good chance against JF, and others
His songwriting is better than his guitar playing. and his guitar playing is amazing
Omar Rodriguez Lopez
Maybe pop fans don't contribute to things like rate your music, because their interest in music is mostly superficial. And acts like Destiny's Child catered purely to superficial interest
