Just want to say a big thank you to warrick for inviting me down to the studio for the day it was great to meet you and all the other guys And giving me the opportunity to try out the new EVOLUTION CRPLUS 2024 My thoughts on this brush as i started my career with harder and steenbeck many years ago from the focus to the evolution silverline solo Then moved on to there flagship infinity for all my detail work The new evolution 2024 is a breath of fresh air for the airbrush community bringing you better trigger response more quality but keeping that Simplicity that h&s have always had in there brush range So enjoy your airbrush journey guys with h&s you won't look back Dred fx custom paint
8:40 Says it all. I just ordered one the other day and on a whim thought I would check YT for tips. I'm not sure what I was expecting but the fact that the very first thing Andy did was take it apart had me hooked from the get go. This demo was probably one if the best I've ever seen. The combination of Warrick's extensive knowledge of the airbrush and the artists genuine reactions set a high bar for future videos.
Since getting both the Ultra24 and the Evo24 I have become a real fan boy of your products. It has changed the way I airbrush and cleaning up after a spray session is so much simpler, it makes it a pleasure rather than a chore. As a consequence I'm using less cleaner !! win win. Really enjoyed this video too; as it confirms my purchase choices, thanks
It has removed the element of blaming the airbrush if an issue arises now. As now that is the consistent element of the painting triangle, it can only be paint consistency or operator error
I cannot wait to get my new evolution and Ultra airbrushes, arriving in South Africa in two weeks. Incredible innovation, H&S is leaving the competition so far behind they may never catch up. Superb guys, well done!
Nice to see people that love & enjoy a wonderful hobby have such a good time pushing it forward with new toys. Big fan of DRED, and nice of H&S to have him there after he blew up pointing out a flaw in their product. Classy.
I have been working with Airbrush since 1991 and decided today to renew myself with an Evolution. I have never used Harder & Steenbeck but it will be interesting because I liked this video and the technology I read about these Airbrushes. I started with German Kager and since 1992 only Iwata. Thanks for all the good information. Best regards/Esa.
Hey buddy... the trigger modification is not a factory mod. I am familiar with it, and although I know it helps, it's not the solution. You sound sceptical :-) so I'm going to recommend the following videos for you to answer your question - of course from my standpoint, the first priority to solve before I moved onto any other aspects of design WAS of course creating a perfectly responsive and direct trigger... But don't take my word for it - watch these: ruclips.net/video/ATYOLISwVFo/видео.htmlsi=1kKWmAMGegLbQn0u ruclips.net/video/jfYPUC95Smg/видео.htmlsi=2KLIe5k61pthxya0 ruclips.net/video/hu1-0kd7YRw/видео.htmlsi=XZ_zi2kdfT_Xv3oA
So what’s the solution to the inconsistent trigger with the Infinity CR+? Buy another airbrush? I’ll probably wait for the upgraded Infinity CR+ in that case.
When we launch the Infinity, we will give a lot of information about how we have done this. Hopefully then it will be much clearer to you then, and you can make an informed decision about which way to go. But we strongly believe that our new INFINITY 2024 will bring a lot more performance and higher expectations of what can be expected from an airbrush. W
I got my black edition Evo 2024 a couple weeks ago and it is absolutely amazing. My Badger Patriot 105 is great, but it is nothing compared to the new Evo. It is an absolute joy to use and extremely simple to clean. I'm firmly on team H&S!
Based on Rob's reactions to this airbrush I'm going to buy one of the Solo models--I've always wanted to try an HS airbrush but have read so many accounts of their airbrushes having a slightly 'delayed" response in terms of paint flow when first pulling back on the trigger...and hearing Rob talk about the super smooth and immediate response of the trigger on the new Evolution just did it for me--I gotta get me one of these babies and see how it compares to my Olympos Microns! Thanks for posting this video!
Good question, and we will be releasing content on this soon. Before that content arrives, PLEASE don't misunderstand what's been done... When we talk about the trigger action, the changes are not only in the trigger. The changes that contribute to the improvement in the trigger action are in so many parts, all of which contribute to the trigger action... specifically, in terms of the mechanical parts which contribute to that improved trigger action, you have the body (in several areas), the middle piece, the needle guide, the excenter, and the trigger itself. In isolation, the trigger won't deliver all of the improvements... I will elaborate on this substantially in the near future - the main worry is that I don't want to release accessory parts and encourage people to spend money on them thinking that they will get 100% of the benefit of the 2024 airbrushes. That is impossible, I'm afraid. However, there will be some kits which will come out which will give some benefit - we are just discussing how to quantify that in a simple way, so that you can make an informed decision as to whether you want to invest money into those accessories rather than either sticking with what you know, or going all in with a new 2024 airbrush. Hope that helps a bit - but the content will be out fairly soon to help really clear this up!
@@harderairbrush I was hoping that it was just the trigger and the middle part, haha. Oh well, Thank you for the detailed clarification. How long do you intend on supporting the older line ?
@@harderairbrush Thank you for such a clear answer on this topic. I bought my Evolution Silverline a few months ago, and I am very interested in the possibility of changing the trigger for the 2024 version. In any case, I am very happy with my two airbrushes. I have the Ultra and the aforementioned Evolution and they give me excellent performance for my humble job. I am a simple amateur modeler and they perform well above my modeling ability.
Mine arrived a few days ago. It’s absolutely amazing. I’ve been using another airbrush for a few years and wanted an upgrade. The wrap up in what I can do with is it incredible. Worth every penny.
@@harderairbrush just the control overall. I paint miniatures and I can now be really precise with where am I’m putting the paint, highlighting and glow effects etc. I still need to get used to it but I think it’s really going to improve my work.
As its said in Independence Day "I Gotta Get me One If These" - Ive got the older Evolution and that was good but this seems to be a game changer As a modeller of 70 years i am impressed. That trigger on mine is a right pain takes some getting in but now it just slots in - wow
I got also the old Evo Silverline and Evo CRPlus. Yesterday I got my Squidmar Evo 2024. It’s at least three steps up better than the Silverline and CRPlus. Dat Trigger, the atomization, the time to action it is a Chefs Kiss. I really fear for the Infinity 2024. It must be a beast of an Airbrush when it comes out.
So great to see you guys together - Rob was so enthralled (I could tell) - my people, must have been a great day. My CRP Evolution with the hack is awesome, but the new one seems the airbrush of my dreams, can't wait to see the 2024 Infinity. I'm a model maker and when I paint models, there's often a primer, base coat then weathering, so continuous and pulsed trigger work (like Andy) and if Eg applying rust to bolt heads (7mm/1ft) one needs consistency, trust, more trigger response. As I get to paint infrequently, consistency is key. Also tens or hundreds of hours work on a model, you can't go back or mess it up as Andy says. I love my H&S kit, my other brushes get used less and less, I know exactly what Rob and Andy are saying, the softness, the atomisation has never been in question, now, it's gone up a level, these 2024 ABs will welcome more into the hobby too. H&B always seems to listen and apply continuous improvement. If one has an empathy for machines - I have - then Andy is right about the machining, my H&S (Evolution CRP, Infinity CRP and Infinity Chameleon) are great AB's, when I think about the stuff we used in the 1970s🥴🤒😳 Well done guys, watching this was a real joy. I always play catch up, take my time, so I'll wait for something like a 2024 alloy Evolution or Infinity to augment how my other H&S brushes are set up. With hand issues now, lighter is better for certain applications, Eg detail work, whereas my current Evolution is the daily driver for getting paint on (although it does detail well too even with a 0.4 set up). Can you clarify, please, Warwick - will the new nozzle, needle, cap sizes fit existing H&S airbrushes 🤔🤞🤞 I might have a switch up with those too as I await news on the 2024 Infinity🤔
Hey buddy! ALL new nozzle, aircap, needle etc are fully compatible with all other H&S airbrushes. This is really a foundational question for us, and we will never go away from that. I love it because it gives people so many routes to get performance depending on their budget. As you'll see with the EVOLUTION, putting an EVO head onto the ULTRA won't give you EVO performance in its entirety, but it is an upgrade, and for some, it's a more affordable way of getting part way there, instead of always needing to think about another airbrush as the skills go up. We will ALWAYS stay with this concept of non-elitism.
Ok that was really cool to see. As a mini painter I was really interested in Andy's thoughts, and he's spot on when he's talking about how important that predicability is. And it was great seeing Rob just doing his thing and airbrushing gradients and fine lines and small dots - I can see the ability to use the airbrush that way coming in handy on minis as well.
@@harderairbrushTanks done got to clear coat that the plastics!! This is my first H&S airbrush. I’ve had it for a few days now and it certainly is a great brush in the hand. For personal taste, especially with the .28 setup, I would like to soften the trigger pull back further but there appears to be no way of adjusting this. Have I missed anything, or do I just replace the spring with something a little softer? I've switched to the .45 now to see how that goes and I'm really liking that too.
Thanks v much for commenting! I’d suggest unscrewing your middle piece by a touch. See how that feels. Once you have a feeling you like, measure the gap and then clip the same length off your spring. It isn’t quite a reduction in spring rate but it is a reduction in preload which feels similar at the front of the trigger action. Hope that helps! W
@@harderairbrush Thanks for the prompt reply. I had tried playing with the middle bit and found that it did feel more to my taste. I like to keep the original springs but I should be able to find something that works from my spare parts box, either stock or shortened. All good fun. To me, tinkering with airbrushes is a hobby within a hobby 🙂
Finally getting into airbrushing for modeling. I decided on this one and it came this week. The Evolution looks great and can’t wait to learn with it. Another RUclips modeler Shayne Smith has used this older version for years. Thanks for the great product.
Today I’ve gotten my evolution 2024. That the trigger feedback is really really really wonderful. It is definitely different from the new ultra. Just how nice and smooth during the painting process. It is a game changer. Can’t wait to see the new infinity now. 👍🏼
è difficile da descrivere ma è meravigliosamente facile da usare! Ogni aerografo ha un carattere diverso per adattarsi alle diverse fasi di sviluppo della pittura. L'Infinity sarà davvero il più spettacolare di tutti 🤩
Not ready (skill wise) for this brush. But really enjoyed watching the video. Their analysis makes me think about how I treat the hobby and where I am in the process. Very informative. The word of the day is “predictable”.
Here's the secret: Hours spent painting x Thought put into Painting = Speed of Progress. Honestly - that's it - and the Thought part is the big short cut.
dredfx my man nice job i bet they used your advise on the trigger response maby a tip for H&S to sell that spacer for the trigger for older type H&S brushes instead of having the spacers made of rings out of a spacer set from other parts
I love this stuff. I have said it recently on other H&S videos, but I am a veteran painter like Rob and Andy. My work isn't nearly to their level, but I have won awards, and always doing things by brush. At Adepticon this year, I was at the Spraygunner booth and picked up this exact model of airbrush. Never too late to dive in, right? These videos have been very helpful in building my confidence in this venture late in my painting journey. The rest of the parts arrive tomorrow, so I am excited to try it out!
Hello! Awesome airbrush, I just want to know: with the smallest needle being .28mm, will that be small enough to precisely run lacquer paints? Specifically, Ammo A-Stand by Mig? I've always been recommended to use a .2mm needle for lacquer paints.
Thank you for this question! The game is changed :-) now you have a 0.28mm which I will confidently tell you will outperform our old 0.2mm in detail and softness of atomisation but is much more versatile. You won’t be disappointed.
I'm a beginner and I bought the Ultra and I am having a great time with it, so I had to buy the Evolution and I just love it. I cant wait to buy the Infinity.
I am a aspiring artist that likes to do everything from drawing, painting, sculpting physically and digitally, miniature / model painting and the airbrush is making its way into many of them thank you.@@harderairbrush
You can, but please understand that the full benefit of the 2024 trigger action is a combination of the trigger, the excenter, the middle piece, the body and the needle guide. You don't get all the benefit by fitting the trigger only - I would say it's probably about 20% of the benefit. However, in terms of comfort, due to the redesigned trigger pad, it's definitely a win. Hope that helps! W
Just received it _ very nice Thought d seen somewhere you could not pull the trigger back till you press it down Also can i use my evolution 4mm needle in the new air brush Also no instructions where included email back from H&S says they are in the box
Hey buddy - the trigger does not have that function - it is only on the ULTRA as a beginner airbrush. You can you use your 0.4mm needle, but only with the 0.45mm set-up. Instructions here - they are available via the QR code on the back of the spray card with your airbrush ruclips.net/video/Sg_I5lM8kZc/видео.html
Hey buddy... We will be releasing a video very soon about compatibility between the old ones and the new ones - it will certainly be released in April, and all the info for that will be in there... As for the Infinity 2024... We are not rushing on that, but I can tell you that we are almost done. We've finished our second round of prototypes and have identified some small tweaks that we want to make in the body, trigger, and excenter - those are going into prototyping over the next two weeks. And the final prototypes for the Infinity heads is happening this week - this will be a big game changer, and I'm so excited to launch it soon. Not long now! W
Quick question. How does it handle lacquer paint. I want to upgrade from my Sotar because i feel the paint drips back and melts the o-rings in the handle cause the needle to always get stuck after cleaning when it dries. I have been airbrushing for years and want to upgrade.
Hey Stephen... The aircap o-ring is high grade Viton; the nozzle seal is PTFE; the needle seal is PTFE; every other o-ring is high grade Viton. Hope that answers your question in the affirmative! W
Which airbrush should I go for if I am choosing between the Evolution and the Infinity Kyiv/Infinity Cult of Pain? I currently own a badger patriot but I find I am only able to comfortably apply primer and basecoats. When it comes to finer detail - its not as predictable or precise and I should switch to the brush to finish off my miniature. I would like to get to a process where I can airbrush my whole model including highlights/trim. Would the Evolution or the Infinity series be better in my scenario?
It really depends on your level. If you're just starting to enjoy airbrushes, then take the EVOLUTION. If you're already working comfortably with the airbrush and are looking to take your detail control to another level, consider the Infinity. W
So they've finally fixed the trigger and improved the build quality. I bought an Infinity in about 2012, never got on with it, but it was my first and only airbrush. Gave up airbrushing, sold it on eBay... Only for the buyer to send it back to me claiming the seals were bust. They weren't, but eventually I did discover a burr of sharp metal inside the brush that was stopping the nozzle seating properly. I managed to remove that and the brush was much improved. As I got better though the inconsistent trigger response bugged me, and I found cheap Chinese brushes with Iwata clone triggers far more reliable. I tried again with an Evolution in 2020 and it was no better. I then saw the Giraldez Infinity and bought that, it was an improved trigger finally, but still couldn't match the Chinese (fengda) brushes I owned, or the Gaahleri I'd recently bought. Now my question is, do I trust this company enough to buy a 4th expensive product from them when 1-3 have all been beaten by products a fraction of the price?!
Hey buddy - if you have a lot of experience, but you wanting to try something from us and see what you think of H&S, I'd say go for the EVOLUTION 2024, available here: harder-airbrush.net/products/evolution-2024-2in1
I was considering upgrading to an infinity in the past few months, but these new 2024 brushes got me a bit hesitant. Is there going to be any news on an infinity update?
Both of my airbrushes just went down and been on the search and always wanted an H&S. Watching your videos on this specific brush has me sold. Cannot wait to order my Evolution and join the H&S family.
@@harderairbrush typed in a long answer, then realized I need the description to get something right, and of course reloaded the page and lost all the typing. Grrrrrrrr. For me getting to watch Rob and Andy test the brush, while they talked about their impressions tells me a lot about their thought-processes as they paint. I also do watch a lot of Andy's content as a patron of the "cult." But I found that their investigations, such as Andy's tear-down, showed me deeper insights into their approaches with the tool. It gives me something akin to Zen and the art of using the airbrush, I suppose. I especially liked getting both Rob's and Andy's takes at the same time as they have what seems rather fundamentally difference approaches to how they use their brushes, I'd guess at least in part to the differences in what they paint? So that leads me to wanting more artists, in different styles and media to do segments for your channel. Not that Warwick isn't great at this, but the wider the expertise the more users you will hit in the long run. Thanks again, hope I didn't prattle-on too much here. And I'm still waiting for the Cult Of Paint branded H&S to become available.
Great buddy - thanks very much for taking the time to elaborate. I do agree that we would love to get more people on here - always scheduling and geography that's the problem but we're working on ways around that. Many thanks for your contributions to our channel :-) Warrick.
This is maybe a personal point, but having an ultra 2024 the one thing that id really want from from the evo here on the ultra is the head design, i know backblow mixing isnt essential (and sometimes advised against), and you can get in the ultra guard with a brush or a cotton swab, but i kind of want the open one, just annoys me when i can see the paintflake on the tip and the brush doesnt get rid of it. On that note: the new evo head is supposed to be compatible right? will there be a set with of head, nozzle and needle?
Im in awe of the control from Andy, am I right in seeing he's actually pressing down and the fully releasing the trigger (what is sound like according to the air noise) i simply dont get it. It looks good, i ordered one myself !
This is got my excited and i will be ordering next week to go in my collection of H&S brushes to go long side my Ultra 2024 and Squidmar Evo. This 2024 Evo looks mega and that new 0.28 wow looks a great one from what can see in the video. Great job H&S and love videos like this really informative 🤩
@harderairbrush I am a long-time toy designer, I use airbrushing for mini painting, and because of Dred FX and others, I've been trying my hand at illustration work.
Ah that's wonderful! The airbrush is used in so many areas, and it IS really enjoyable to try to cross into the others with the skills that you already have.
Hello, I am now the proud owner of the Evolution 2024 CR Plus. A great airbrush! But it looks like there are no spare parts for the 0.28mm needle and the 0.28 nozzle yet. All you can find on the net (also at Harder Homepage) are spare needles 0,2mm for the Evolution and the Evolution CR, but nothing for the Evolution 2024 CR. It can't be that a new airbrush with a 0.28mm needle comes onto the market and there is no replacement for it. What do I do if I damage the new 0.28mm needle tomorrow ?
@@harderairbrush ABSOLUTELY! Seeing first impressions with Warrick explaining the features is eye opening. I like how different artists have different techniques and skill levels on different media. It gives me an idea of what makes this airbrush different than the rest, and how to use it. Seeing the gentleman on the left work on his shadows and dots was impressive. So was seeing that miniature being sprayed, but I wish I could've seen the finished product (eyes he painted). Even though I've seen all of the evolution and ultra videos, I enjoy seeing the new features in action. Can we get a video on how to apply lacquer finish and how to clean the airbrush after using that? I'm afraid of using lacquer top coat in my airbrush because residue might dry inside of it.
by the way, buddy, it's Warrick replying :-) just in case you thought it wasn't me! Thanks for the comment - I would actually really enjoy spending more time bringing people in on the conversations that we have with elite users, as I think it's really interesting to hear them talk about their work... the tricky part is getting people into the studio, but we're working on a solution for that... With regard to the lacquer - honestly, just go for it, and clean it up immediately afterwards. Don't get stressed and go overboard with the cleaning - just do the stuff that you see us doing in the painting videos - it's plenty if you get it done right after painting, no worries at all. Just make sure that you have the right thinners/ cleaners, and honestly, there's nothing to worry about.
@@harderairbrush Thank you for the tip Warrick. I will try the top coat lacquer then. I'm sorry for misspelling your name 😂 I'm looking forward to more of these weekly videos. Keep up the great work!
Cool. I learn a lot of things here. Like oiling that part, or how the clip-on excentric part works, or that drop for thr oil there. Mini things that help! Thanks Most difficult part for me now is the fact that I don’t get the thinning ratios correct. I only use Vallejo products, and for some I need more thinner than for others, even on similar colors. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment! Don't worry about thinning! There's no rule at all which says that you need to use paint unthinned! In fact you'll find almost no elite painters do this. For example, although I advocate using a 1:1 ratio when starting out with Vallejo Air paints, this is arguably on the thick side. I recommend that because it's easier not to over apply and get it wet when you're learning. But, if you take a look at the detail on Andy Wardle's painting videos on our channel, for example, you'll see that he typically thins by approx 2 parts thinner to 1 part paint. Watch some Angel Giraldez videos and you'll see that he often thins far more than that. It gives greater control over colour build - it's a good thing! Hope that helps!
Great video, a quick question, has H&S ever considered creating a pistol trigger version of its airbrushes? Love the look of this airbrush, but I just struggle with using the traditional triggers on airbrushes.
Today in the morning, I ordered the Evo 2024 at my local artist store and really looking forward to it. It will work alongside my other four H & S brushes, which the oldest one is now nearing the age of 25 years, but still working great. For the next months, I am also being curious how the Infinity 2024 will take shape.

Hello! I am on the fence about getting airbrushes form you guys, I have my picks in the shopping cart on your website. My concern is replacement part, since I am not in Europe but in US and I don't see any pricing on replacement part specially needles for the Ultra and the Evolution. Can you guys help me out? Thank you in advance!!!
Hey buddy. Needles did not change. Our 0.2x needle is the same for the 0.20mm and the 0.28mm. The 0.4x needle is the same for the 0.40 and the 0.45. All parts will be available as always, don’t worry! Thanks for considering us! Spraygunner carries all our parts in your part of the world 😊
And now a controversal question: would the trigger of the new evolution fit on the giraldez infinity? After working for more than 15 years with the evolution and later also the „standard“ infinity it feels like breaking my trigger finger on the giraldez. Don‘t get me wrong it‘s a absolute high class AB and it works absolutely perfect but i would love to have a flat/standard trigger on the giraldez as well. And i can‘t bring myself so far to grind the original part of as it looks so good 🙈😅
Hi Warrick, Rob and Andy, and congrats for this new demo of a what seem to be a great product again! Only problem I see with this new range of airbrushes is... which one are we gonna buy next? :D I offered to myself a Infinity Kyiv last Christmas to complete an Evolution 2 in 1 Silverline and older Ultra. Now ... Thanks for making our hobbies simpler (and nicer with sucher lovely tools ^^) by the way.
@@harderairbrushHi and welcome ;) I got one question about where and/or when will it be possible to find 0.45mm needle and headset ? I already got 5ml cup so I'd like to buy single 0.28mm airbrush version but later maybe trying the 0.45mm size (I got several 0.40mm needle-headcup kits). But I don't manage to find this piece on french market for now, neither on your official website by way :). Thanks for information :)
Great video! Small question. All the new brushes have the same air cap. How much effect does an air cap have on the spray? I noticed in this video for example that they also used it without the air cap, or rotated etc. Is the spray much more different compared to for example the old evolution silverline air cap design?
Hey buddy - I think you mean the needle cap… a good needle cal should have zero impact on the spray character. Certainly these ones do. They are only a guard. Andy and Rob both tend to remove them as they don’t need the protection against bumping the needle and the little. It if extra visibility of the needle tip helps with accuracy and visual connection to the work. But for the non-elite user, they are great as you can have 90% of the visibility and 100% of the performance with no risk of bumping the needle tip.
No problem. Normally the one on the very end is called the needle cap... then you have what we call the aircap or Luftkopf in German... which some others call the nozzle cap, or spray cap. The aircap is very critical to size - if you change a nozzle size, on every brand that I know of, you'll change the aircap. But often the needle cap will be the same, as the needle cap has no impact on the airflow. You can tell if the part is an aircap or not quite easily on any brand - if it's the part which screws over the nozzle and has a hole in the centre which the nozzle only just fits through, with a very small clearance around it, then that's the aircap. Some have an integrated needle cap (for example, our ULTRA 2024).
It's a bit strange to consider this new brush an upgrade to the old Infinity that I currently have. Just goes to show that R&D pays off I guess :) Now to wait and see what the Infinity 2024 will bring (and cost...) to figure out if I go for the new Evo or Infinity. Either brush is way too much for my needs and skill level but damn does it feel good to use proper tools even if you can't use them to their full potential. I'm also curious to see how cleaning works on the new design as you say that has been improved. I always strip my brush after I'm done as I find there's always a bit of paint stuck somewhere on the needle that either leads to a stuck trigger, or a trigger that feels very "crunchy". Just cleaning out the cup and backflushing a couple of times has never felt like it's been enough for me.
Yes, that's really quite a big bit of progress that we're really happy with - because it literally affects everyone, no matter what level they are at. I can't ever quite help myself to remove the needle just to check that there's no colour left on it, but tbh I'm finding that it's just not there - I try to demo this particular point in all the painting videos, as I feel that so many people spend waaaay to much time thinking that they need to strip etc when they would be better off just painting for 15 minutes more and having more fun!
@@harderairbrush so the main thing I notice is the instant paint from the trigger , then the control ......I paint miniatures so being able to spray just a touch of paint in one spot is what I want in an airbrush , the new evolution is getting me there easier.......

Either way I can tell the difference and hope that it becomes available as I'd like it on all my brushes........
Hey Robert - thanks very much for that! Actually, we did do quite a lot of work on the internals of the new fPC. We weren't happy with the flow on fully open on the new 0.45mm set-up - felt that it choked the airbrush a bit, and took away a bit of the responsiveness that we've really worked to improve - and the linearity of the adjustment too, and the ability to get as close as possible to a full zero. So yes, I agree, that new fPC is definitely an improvement - very happy to see that you feel that too!
I invested already into 2 infinitys . . I will most probably invest into a infinity 2024 ..If I do so i will be pleased to test it and offer a french/german/english feedback ...
this is a great video, getting a miniature and portrait artist to give their opinions... as much as the Evo '24 looks great, i can't help but wonder when the Infinity '24 will appear - based on the release cadence of Ultra and Evo. I've been using an Iwata HP-BH for years and want to step up/refresh. The features you've got here on the Evo'24 look very good but i can't help thinking the Infinity is going to be even better... i doubt you're not going to divulge info here but i would love to understand what an Infinity refresh looks like in comparison to the Evo'24. cheers
How good is the Evolution 2024?, well I've gone from wondering where I can incorporate an airbrush into my workflow to why don't I have enough space to have my airbrush setup out all the time
@@harderairbrush it narrows the gap between my imagination and what I can create. If there was ever any product I've picked up that makes me think "Why stop at miniatures?“ it's the 2024 Evo. I also have a question does ambient temperature make much difference to psi settings or is it mostly down to paint consistency?
Ah that answer makes me very happy! Narrowing that gap is exactly what I want to do! Imagination translated in full resolution is the goal! With regard to ambient temp... no I have never noticed that. Paint prep is the skill which, as it develops, gives a massive boost in terms of workflow. It probably isn't talked about enough! Warrick
these 2 new releases are a big step up since ultra 2024 has more features than old evolution and the new evolution has almost all the features of the infinity. i am wondering what will infinity 2024 get extra in terms of features compared to the actual one apart obviously from all the better machining better trigger and so on
We're very nearly done. Almost! I had a final moment of revelation recently about how we REALLY interact with the trigger... and so we've just redesigned the trigger even a little more :-) it's radical! And a huge upgrade in connection to the paint... Actually, the INFINITY 2024 arguably has the most amount of extra features and changes when compared to the ULTRA and the EVOLUTION. W
Great video. Although i haven't had a product from you yet, i can see the passion in the video. I painting only since 4 weeks bow. I had a very cheap airbrush, wich is unfortunately broken. Hi again - I think you've asked something similar on a couple of videos, and I just replied to another comment asking if you are a new user - but now I see that you are! OK, so now I can give you better advice :-) Take the ULTRA. If you wish to expand its capabilities, you will be able to do so with other heads. It will always be useful to you no matter what else you take in the future. And you will certainly be very happy with it for more than a year! W
Hi Steve - I've actually been looking for that, and again tonight... no I don't think I do! Would you mind resending? Sorry for the inconvenience... wjs@harder-airbrush.de

Hi. Now i received it. I done a test sheet and took it apart. I put the micro cup on and did some test. And it’s a beautiful one. Top quality and it sprays and feel very good. Great job.

Just had the Evo 2024 CRPlus delivered from Spraygunner - I have to say, this is one of the best devices I have ever owned! The build quality is outstanding, in fact, the caps on the cups were so tight, I thought they were threaded, instead of friction fit. Cant wait to get some paint through this bad boy....
@harderairbrush I have noticed you have not used brass for the body but steel, it does make it rather heavy, is the infinity version is going to be lighter. ?
I get note, I click, I like. Btw the Ultra and Evo are supreme. Please please please please make an Ultra or Evo with a pistolgrip. I know you have the SparMax one in your portfolio. Never the less I would like the great Evo with a Pistolgrip because of the features. I don’t want to buy something like the Gaahleri Swallotail…since it seems like it just a better pistolgrip airbrush thrown together from copied parts of H&S, Iwata and Badger.
@@harderairbrush Well keep the behavior and mechanical features of the evo. Especially the very smooth triggerresponse and short movement till action. Tl;dr: - Evo 2024 Plattform and features - comfortable grip and trigger - trigger pull adjustable for user - optional: Option for different Ergogrippcovers for the users since some might like a thinner grip, others a thicker one..-> Could be possible to look into AR15 and Walther ergo grips? Long version: The grip should be really comfortable and ergonomic for longer working periods (let‘s assume constant working time on the brush for 40min without pause?) maybe something ergo grips for AR15 or Glocks? Well but since even for grips it is not always one size fits all…maybe the option to use different gripcovers would be cool? What I personally really dislike in the Pistolgrip airbrushes I was able to use is the very hard grip which made it uncomfortable to hold and use them for a longer period of time. Also the triggers where not as smooth and easy to pull as a „regular“ airbrush. Also I did not find any way to adjust the trigger tension like I can with my current Evo and Infinity.
@jameswilliams3304 I wrote „seems“ trigger and grip look really close to home to TRN1. Etc etc. I agree on the different nozzle since it is easier and cheaper to manufacture outer airchannels. I still have the feelings have seen the MAC design somewhere else. Maybe in my aerodynamics and manufacturing studies…but I digress Never the less…I live by the code buy cheap buy twice. And what I read in many forums and comments the Swallowtail might be ok for what it is in its price range. Still reviews are mixed with leaning to a more positive note. On the vids by Studio G and Barabatos Rex the atomization on video looks mediocre to me…at least it is not what I look for. If others love it fine by me. Further booth creators claimed in their respective videos that these airbrushes where exclusively designed with either of them…when its basically just a different grip cover…looks shady to me. Like 6 months ago I wanted to give Gaahleri a try but after even further reviews my very personal decision is that I won’t get them. And my personal impression is that some parts look copied. I look for high quality tools and that’s not what I would get Again it is my personal impression. If anybody likes the Price point and performance of Gaahleri fine by me. Same as with regular brushes. I am a big Rosemary&Co fan and rarely used other brushes.
I am also a big fan of pistol grip airbrushes as I have some pretty good arthritis in my hands after 30 years of manual labor. I like them especially for priming and base coating, then I switch to a regular airbrush for the layers and detail work. The hours of spraying primer and base coats are brutal for me with anything other than a pistol grip. I would definitely buy an airbrush like the 2024 Ultra with a pistol grip.
Ok thanks for the information. If you are not used to H&S then it's worth understanding that one of our goals is to develop a slower delivery than most. We are not designing to a fast paint delivery. We are designing to a slow paint delivery with the focus on detail, controllability and softness of atomisation. For example, if you compare our air consumption to another very popular airbrush, our 0.28mm head uses less than 1/3 of the air volume at the same pressure as an Iwata Eclipse on the 0.35mm. It's a totally different character, but it offers other elements of performance. Illustration will work beautifully through the EVOLUTION straight or thinned, but if you're looking to get a foothold where you can start to learn our "character" and it's benefits, try thinning it 1:1, paint that for a few hours, and then start to go back to thicker formulations once you understand the character of the airbrush. I hope that helps! Please do let us know! Many thanks, Warrick.
Thanks for the info Warwick. I intend to give it a thorough workout as you suggest and of course will let you know my further thoughts. Kind Regards Cyril
@@harderairbrush not really a concern more aesthetic , but it would be nice if there were a couple colors to choose from ? To me just never been a fan of gold , will it stop me from buying one now as i already had and older one
One of the reasons why that piece is gold is because it is the bearing for the needle guide. Gold is a good material choice as a bearing surface in low load as it has a little less friction than chrome 😊 so whilst it is partly aesthetic, it does have this other marginal benefit :-)

Ah that’s great Tony! Are there any other aspects where you think there has been a step forward in your process?
It has removed the element of blaming the airbrush if an issue arises now. As now that is the consistent element of the painting triangle, it can only be paint consistency or operator error
Oh good lord, I don't want to take THAT away from you! Thank goodness we can all still blame "old paint" - self-criticism can be painful!

Thanks for all the good information.

How is the trigger? I hate the inconsistent trigger on my Infinity CR+ even with the modification.
But don't take my word for it - watch these:
ruclips.net/video/ATYOLISwVFo/видео.htmlsi=1kKWmAMGegLbQn0u
ruclips.net/video/jfYPUC95Smg/видео.htmlsi=2KLIe5k61pthxya0
ruclips.net/video/hu1-0kd7YRw/видео.htmlsi=XZ_zi2kdfT_Xv3oA
Ah James, thank you very much for that comment and thanks for joining us! You're very welcome on team H&S!

Is the new and improved trigger segment compatible with the old evolution and infinity line?
Oh well,
Thank you for the detailed clarification.

I really fear for the Infinity 2024. It must be a beast of an Airbrush when it comes out.
Haha Christian. It has a very special surprise!
@@harderairbrush Well you know what you have to say to my wife when she calls :D
If one has an empathy for machines - I have - then Andy is right about the machining, my H&S (Evolution CRP, Infinity CRP and Infinity Chameleon) are great AB's, when I think about the stuff we used in the 1970s🥴🤒😳
Well done guys, watching this was a real joy.
@@harderairbrush Hi Warwick, thanks - all understood and great to hear. Keep up the good work, you're doing a fab job✌️👍💜😊✌️

Do yo have an estimate when spareparts for this brush will be readily available?
Yes, April! W
Where can I pick up spare part for this? Also when is the new infinity due out?

can you fit the new evolution trigger to the old evolution
You can, but please understand that the full benefit of the 2024 trigger action is a combination of the trigger, the excenter, the middle piece, the body and the needle guide. You don't get all the benefit by fitting the trigger only - I would say it's probably about 20% of the benefit. However, in terms of comfort, due to the redesigned trigger pad, it's definitely a win. As for the Infinity 2024... We are not rushing on that, but I can tell you that we are almost done. We've finished our second round of prototypes and have identified some small tweaks that we want to make in the body, trigger, and excenter - those are going into prototyping over the next two weeks.
I have a lot of airbrush experience, but not with your brand. Which of your airbrushes do I need to get? I'm confused as to which one is the best.
Hey buddy - if you have a lot of experience, but you wanting to try something from us and see what you think of H&S, I'd say go for the EVOLUTION 2024, available here:
harder-airbrush.net/products/evolution-2024-2in1
I was considering upgrading to an infinity in the past few months, but these new 2024 brushes got me a bit hesitant. Is there going to be any news on an infinity update?
It's coming!

what was the psi they are spraying at?
It varies… base setting 25psi and then adjusted down from there but generally in this, 25psi.
Both of my airbrushes just went down and been on the search and always wanted an H&S. Watching your videos on this specific brush has me sold. Cannot wait to order my Evolution and join the H&S family.
Supercool! Thanks so much for joining us! W
Exciting stuff. Great fun to watch both of these experts having such fun and fascination with the new brush is great, and informative is several ways.
Glad you enjoyed it! What did you find informative in particular?
Yes, absolutely. All heads can be used on all airbrushes. You will be able to tune up the ULTRA with EVO heads.
Thanks for the videos and tips, I got an Evo Silverline and placed the order for the new one some days ago
Awesome - thanks for joining us! Let us know what you think when you receive it :-)
I have mine pre-ordered. Pretty stoked for it to arrive next month.

Im in awe of the control from Andy, am I right in seeing he's actually pressing down and the fully releasing the trigger (what is sound like according to the air noise) i simply dont get it. It looks good, i ordered one myself !

Please do more of this format! Seeing live testing in real time with build insights is such a cool style of content! Nice work
Thanks buddy will do. What area of airbrushing are you involved with?
@harderairbrush I am a long-time toy designer, I use airbrushing for mini painting, and because of Dred FX and others, I've been trying my hand at illustration work.
Ah that's wonderful! The airbrush is used in so many areas, and it IS really enjoyable to try to cross into the others with the skills that you already have.
Hello,
I am now the proud owner of the Evolution 2024 CR Plus.
A great airbrush!
But it looks like there are no spare parts for the 0.28mm needle and the 0.28 nozzle yet.
All you can find on the net (also at Harder Homepage) are spare needles 0,2mm for the Evolution and the Evolution CR,
but nothing for the Evolution 2024 CR.
It can't be that a new airbrush with a 0.28mm needle comes onto the market and there is no replacement for it.
What do I do if I damage the new 0.28mm needle tomorrow ?
The needle remains the same - the 0.2x v2… so don’t worry about that! Spares are all releasing VERY soon with some cool extra items too 😎
It is awesome to see the details from these artists perspectives with Warwick next to them to explain the features they notice. Great video!
Really glad that you enjoyed it - we quite enjoyed the podcasty format. Would you like to see videos like this?
Hey no problem with the name spelling - it's quite normal :-) let us know how you get on with the top coating.
Can’t wait for mine to arrive :) i ordered it one week ago and i have been looking everyday to see when the status will update to shipped XD
Cool. I learn a lot of things here. Like oiling that part, or how the clip-on excentric part works, or that drop for thr oil there. Mini things that help! Thanks
Most difficult part for me now is the fact that I don’t get the thinning ratios correct.
I'll be back.
@@harderairbrush 😍 can we get two triggers? One to control air and another for the needle?
Nein! :-)))
Today in the morning, I ordered the Evo 2024 at my local artist store and really looking forward to it. It will work alongside my other four H & S brushes, which the oldest one is now nearing the age of 25 years, but still working great.
Spraygunner carries all our parts in your part of the world 😊
@@harderairbrush Sweet! thank you :)

@@harderairbrush thx. Yeah i think i mean the needle cap. Its called different in online stores everytime. So not sure what the real name was :P
Mine arrives on Monday - can’t wait.
Ah brilliant - thanks for joining us!
@@harderairbrush It’s all down to Rob - he is very good at spending my money 😉
Haha that's funny! Don't worry though - his advice is golden.
Really excited to receive mine, ordered a few weeks ago and the wait for shipping is killing me!
Thanks for joining us! We're getting pretty close to being up to date with all the orders - thanks for the incredible response from all of you!
Been using both of my evolutions and the ultra , looking forward to what the new infinity will bring....
Glad to hear it buddy… how would you characterise the changes in the painting experience?
@@harderairbrush so the main thing I notice is the instant paint from the trigger , then the control ......I paint miniatures so being able to spray just a touch of paint in one spot is what I want in an airbrush , the new evolution is getting me there easier.......
Ah that's great to hear - that's one of the primary aims of these 2024 models... W
@@harderairbrush hey fyi I think I mentioned I have both squidmar evolutions so having the pressure regulator on the black version , WOW!! What a difference from the previous model , I like it but this new one seems to do so much more and have more range , hope that makes sense, don't know if I'm describing it accurately.
I was thinking of an Iwata, but this one seems like a really good choice
Both are great! But thanks for considering us too!
Just got mine and I love it!
Ah that's great to hear - thanks! W
The features you've got here on the Evo'24 look very good but i can't help thinking the Infinity is going to be even better... i doubt you're not going to divulge info here but i would love to understand what an Infinity refresh looks like in comparison to the Evo'24. cheers
How good is the Evolution 2024?, well I've gone from wondering where I can incorporate an airbrush into my workflow to why don't I have enough space to have my airbrush setup out all the time
Yes! It’s indispensable once you understand it!
Warrick

@harderairbrush I have noticed you have not used brass for the body but steel, it does make it rather heavy, is the infinity version is going to be lighter. ?
@@jnrmack fPC needed more flow on highest setting to cope with the 0.45mm and no, the body is brass, not steel.

Thanks buddy… What features would you really like on a pistol grip?
@@harderairbrush Well keep the behavior and mechanical features of the evo.
Especially the very smooth triggerresponse and short movement till action.
Tl;dr:
- Evo 2024 Plattform and features
- comfortable grip and trigger
- trigger pull adjustable for user
- optional: Option for different Ergogrippcovers for the users since some might like a thinner grip, others a thicker one..-> Could be possible to look into AR15 and Walther ergo grips?
Long version:
The grip should be really comfortable and ergonomic for longer working periods (let‘s assume constant working time on the brush for 40min without pause?) maybe something ergo grips for AR15 or Glocks?
Maybe in my aerodynamics and manufacturing studies…but I digress
Never the less…I live by the code buy cheap buy twice.
I look for high quality tools and that’s not what I would get
Again it is my personal impression.
Bought one today, a 2in1.
Thanks very much for joining us! W

Beautiful! 🤩
Thanks buddy!
Received mine on Monday and to be honest I am so far disappointed with it. Still to find the sweet spot. It is the first H&S for me.
Hey Cyril - please let us know what paint you are using and how you are preparing it? I am sure I can then give you some helpful advice.

Hi, thanks for reaching out. I am using createx illustration with a few drops distilled water.
Kind Regards
Cyril
Thanks very much Cyril. I look forward to it!
Love this brush but just cant do gold, maybe offer it with different accent colors
Hey buddy - what's your concern with gold?
@@harderairbrush not really a concern more aesthetic , but it would be nice if there were a couple colors to choose from ? To me just never been a fan of gold , will it stop me from buying one now as i already had and older one
One of the reasons why that piece is gold is because it is the bearing for the needle guide. Gold is a good material choice as a bearing surface in low load as it has a little less friction than chrome 😊 so whilst it is partly aesthetic, it does have this other marginal benefit :-)
