Mei liang is a sister company to Paul Rubens, so probably why the pigment tags are similar. I've had my set of meiliang watercolors for 6 years and also have some Paul Rubens fluorescents and glitter paint. They are all good quality and fun to use. I'm in love with your doggie.
Hi Harkart59, Thanks for watching! I really enjoy collaborating with the folks at Paul Rubens/MeiLiang. I’ve been reviewing products for them for a few years now. They have sent me a wide variety of their products over the years to review and I have a large selection of videos on their products such as oil pastels, acrylic paints, watercolors (both in tubes, and in pans), brushes, Fine tip markers, sketchbooks, and loose watercolor paper. I have very much enjoyed collaborating with this company and have always found both their student grade paints, which are labeled MeiLiang, and their professional paints which are labeled, Paul Rubens, to be a very high-quality. They have made huge improvements to the pigments over the last six years so I would encourage you to try some of their newer sets. I’m always amazed at the improvements they’ve made. Their 14 year anniversary celebration is coming up in August and I can give you an insider tip, there will be a big sale on Amazon and a painting contest with giveaways of their products on their Instagram. Keep an eye out for those fun events.
Thank you. I love the colors. I love making marks and finding things. I used to do that with clouds when I was young. Thanks again and have a peachy day!!
I really love the colors in this set too! I think your analogy of doing that kind of art being like finding figures and animals and clouds is such a great comparison. Have a great creative weekend!
I have degenerative disc disease in my neck from a surgery I had in 2017. I had two series of steroid shots in May and have been doing much better. Feel better soon. Nice colors and abstracts. ❤
I’m so glad the shots worked for you! My husband gets the shots and they work great for him too. I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for commenting!
US Art Supplies I bought this to pack awhile ago and I’m still using my first one, but I absolutely love it. It’s so nice to use and carefree. The pages may buckle a little bit but honestly it’s a sketchbook who cares.
My day is always perfect when you drop a video! Hello to Don, Toshi, and ornery Alana!! I like pigment numbers because sometimes I'll mix that color myself when I run out of a particular color, especially those paints that only come in sets... it's super handy for me 😊
I’m so glad that you enjoy the videos and that they inspire your creativity. That means a lot to me. Interestingly, pigment numbers are really important to me on acrylics and gouache but because I use watercolors more intuitively and abstractly, I just don’t seem to look up the pigment numbers that much. I definitely can understand why they are important to others for color mixing though.
Hi! Love the watercolors! The colors are beautiful! Also, those sketchbooks seem to be great too. I’m trying to ease up on buying supplies and you’re not making it easy! 😂 Thank you for sharing! 💜💕💜
I was really pleased with the colors in this set. I definitely support easing up on purchasing art supplies. That’s one of the reasons I don’t do full on art supply hall videos anymore. I just share occasionally when I buy myself some new art supplies or am sent a product to review. Please never let my videos encourage you to buy something that you feel you don’t need. Don and I are definitely feeling the crunch of these difficult financial times so I totally get it. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Very enjoyable video today Linda! Thank you for the information on the watercolor sketchbooks. Really informative and loved watching you being creative!! ❤
Thanks so much for your kind comment. Some weeks the rush to get a video filmed, edited and uploaded feels so stressful and a comment like yours is really lifts my spirits 🙏💕😘🐶
Karen, I’m so sorry, my heart aches for you! I lost my beloved soul dog Niko a year ago and it completely broke me. At the time I said to my husband “no more dogs“. I didn’t believe I could ever love one as much as I loved him. It took me nine months before I was ready to adopt another dog. Alana Rose has a paw print marking on her ear and I’ve always said that Niko put his paw impression on her ear when he sent her to us from heaven. I’m keeping you and your family in my heart as you navigate your grief journey. 💔😞🐶
Did you get your pup from Tracy's Paws? I love all of the rescue pups I have adopted over the years. They all love to watch me create as well. Thanks for a great video
Hi Linda, the other set of Meiling (pink older one) does have small quarter metal pans. They are so glued to the plastic tin that it will take you a million years to get out. I took mine out and transfer them through another small pallet. Just letting you know. They have improve a lot the new set. Maybe I will get it in blue as well. I am really surprise Paul Ruben did not send you a small botanical pan set which other RUclipsrs got before the prime sales. I purchase mine before prime and during prime it became unavailable which is too bad. Have a wonderful night/weekend. Good Review. Maria
I’m in bed so I can’t physically look at them right now, but I clicked through the links below the video and read through the listings on Amazon. It looks like the US art supply one does not have perforated pages. I can double check tomorrow by looking at the actual sketchbook.
I’m so sorry I didn’t respond earlier. I wasn’t feeling well today and then I forgot completely about your question. I went to bed early and just woke up and remembered I hadn’t given you an answer. So I just went into the studio and checked. The US art supply Sketchbook is the only one that does not have perforated pages. Again, apologies for getting back to you so late.
@@BeginnersMind-ArtMind no worries. and there is never any rush. I would rather you take care of yourself; we all need to. I knew you would get back to me when you could. Thanks again for all your great content.
I love this Linda opening with Alana! When you were swatching the watercolor card, did you know the music you used is the music Michelle the Painter uses on her channel. I had to double check I was still watching you. Too funny. Thanks for the swatching. Love the video. Would like to see more in these sketchbooks over on Patreon. 😅
I’m so glad you liked the opening with Alana! I’m not familiar with Michele the painter, but the music is from a licensing company called Epidemic Sound. She probably subscribes to their music service too. I’ll have to look up her channel. You will definitely be seeing more work in these sketchbooks on my Patreon. I definitely want to get back into doing more abstract experimental work and I think the square format is perfect for that.
Thanks❤
Thanks for watching!
Those colors and paper are wonderful. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Thanks for always supporting my channel with your “likes” and comments Madelyn! 💕🙏

Thanks Linda. Enjoyable as always. The MeiLiang set is very nice. I enjoy them. I have the 36 set. The sketchbooks look great. 😊

@@BeginnersMind-ArtMind Love your doggie emoji ☺ Alana will be a sweet addition to your studio. Pets are family too! 💖
Thank you, I agree 100%!
The Alkalo sketchbook does not advertise itself for "watercolors" but I'm happy to see it can take it (even if there is a bit of warping).
Yes, it was a nice surprise. Thanks for watching.
Lovely puppy. Our dog of 14 years passed away this week😢. We are devastated. They are family

I didn’t even realize the board you were painting on was at an angle until you said something! Doesn’t bother me a bit.
Oh great! Thanks so much for the helpful feedback! 🙏💕
another great video, thanks for sharing Linda. I don't like perforated pages. Which of the sketchbooks DO NOT have perforated pages?

@impish22 Your welcome
Naw lorna is a local to me here in south Australia
Is Naw lorna a RUclips creator?
Naw is a term of endearment for laura Horn, my spell check had a mind of its own lol sorry.
spellcheck definitely does get in the way sometimes lol
