Watching this 10 years later and its kinda funny how they were sneaky with the Redcliffe castle section. "The breach is growing" as if it was going to be the main threat throughout the entire game (and the fact that the breach in question was in the future, lol). Clever.
Please don't make the story awful this time.. Bloodmagic, bloodmagic, abominations, bloodmagic. DAII shat so hard over the lore of this universe.. it was just amazing.. I don't think i've been as angry playing a game before or since.. Still can't believe i managed to finish it..
I agree. DAII was addicting and fun. Sure the tiny amount of environments ruined what could have been an amazing game, but overall not anywhere near bad. DA Inquisition looks way better than the first two. lol
Specially bought DA:O to prepare for this game. With a pc upgrade, this is going to be awesome. If the world is just as open as Skyrim, we are talking about a Skyrim killer here.
Have these IGN E3 vids been wicked quiet for anyone else? I almost never have to turn the volume passed halfway & I've had to keep these vids blaring just to barely hear them.
Well lucky for all of us RPG fans the Witcher 3 was delayed so they can better the game. It will give us time to play and beat Inquisition again and again.
Major improvement from DA2 location actually varied and they keep the fast pace combat. Looking forward to this. But were they showing it off the Xbox One or 360?
Some of you guys have already given up on Bioware just after one not even a bad game. Just give them a chance when the game came out and then judge for yourself . And please, don't just the game through a demo that brand "Alpha Build", it's not even a fully completed game, there's still 4 months to go, they still have a lot to do. If you're still not convinced, well, then just go a head and wait for The Witcher 3 then.
I count DA 2, ME 3 (I played them all and it's not really that bad). May I ask your third count. But some of them have already done with Bioware since the game they think it's bad.
***** I didn't really much into the online stuff, to me it's just a really big waste of time even if it's a really good game. And tell the main reason that makes you drop Bioware like that, do share.
UncleJoeofAmerica The reason I tried and enjoyed SWTOR was the ability to play solo, and generally enjoy the storylines as I wished. Normally, I choose not to play MMO's either.
I'm thrilled about finally being able to play a Qunari, though I'm curious about the story behind their women being allowed to fight- maybe Sten (as Arishok) had something to do with that? :O Or maybe they're Ferelden-born Qunaris. Hmmm....
Apparantly, if you play Qunari, you are born outside of the Qun. So all you share with the core followers of the Qun is the race, but I'm sure people of every race in the game will harass you for being a Qunari(race), even though you're not Qunari(religion).
As FPS became more prevalent and these amazing RPG games became more rare, unlike most everyone else (atleast on the internet) I stopped complaining about the shortcomings they may have and started cherishing them. Delving into this games world and gameplay is going to be amazing.
THIS. IS.BIOWARE'S.LAST. CHANCE. After all the screws up's with ME3, DA2, and SWTOR. this is their last chance to show they've learned their lesson and aren't just a money grabbing company like their big daddy EA is. If not I have no problem spending my money elsewhere.
I mostly play first person shooter games, but since I was introduced to Dragon Age Origins last year, I have become a really big fan of third person games. I really like how Dragon Age showcases the combat and magical combat, and this one of the main reasons I'm getting the game. The improved combat system and direct interaction between player skills and enemy UI looks amazing. I also love the new immersive skill customization and upgrade system.
Hmm PC footage I'm guessing. Looks pretty good graphically. Man after Dragon's Dogma tho my standards for this type of game(action/rpgs with a team) are pretty sky high action and atmosphere wise.
Hope we get a Dragons Dogma sequel, story was weak but combat, exploration, and pawn system were allot of fun. Love how eerie and dangerous it became when you found yourself traveling after dark. Great combat system with enough variety between classes that made you want try each one so you could mix and match abilities. Yeah a next gen Dragons Dogma would be incredible!
Sagramorbald i thought there are a gay male character. bcause of that i would like to jump to fable legend but still dragon age i still attracted that fable
San Dini's Paninis when you said clunky, were you referring to the strategy aspect/mode of the fights? Because to me it seems clunky in the strategy mode, but i wonder if it's because they're using a controller. I mean I think that if you used a mouse, strategy mode should seem smoother than using a controller.
Techno Shogun Better combat? You mean spammy combat, less customization of weapons and armor for companions plus overall bad story, graphics, how world was laid out? Of course it was horrible game.
wiziek The combat was more fluid, if you didn't want to keep pressing the attack button all the time you could turn on auto attack, and it was more appealing than DA:O in terms of combat speed. It had pretty good dialogue, cool armor sets, and really awesome character. I agree that they messed up the game by redacting a lot of the customization options that it had previously, reusing environments, and it's mediocre graphics. The problem that made all these things happen was that Bioware only had half a crew to make this game. It's EA's fault that they had t work with half a crew.
This looks a lot different (and better) than the previous Dragon Age games from what I've seen! I never really got into the other ones because I'm not big on the top down view while controlling 3-4 characters at once, I'm more of a single player-one character type of guy, but this game looks fascinating!!
Dragon Age and witcher 3 are yin and yang for me. Witcher is character focused, adventure game for me, not really RPG imo since i can't roleplay as me, set in a dark gritty world with mature conversation, and theme. True romance is only Trish but can sex anyone. Combat is realistic via limited ability but can integrate them to be use sufficiently, stragetised via available resources, and just single controllable character (character focus). I can be any kind of classes (no restriction of play style), really big skill tree. Dragon Age on the other hand is an RPG, story focused, party focused, global cataclysm, political mature content. Make your own choice of a way game, that controls how the world will turn. I can create my character, customize my armor, weapons, party. I can also romance the one i choose to. A lot of combat skills on one class, a teamwork strategy game. Companions variety and availability that havetheir own story. Combat is fantasy with a lot of spells, tricks and talents. Combo and integration of talents from each paty are important to maximize the effectiveness/superiority of the party. I'm missing some but I love both, since again, fill in the pieces that each misses.
Oh the story of both are actually different. They have their own plot but in the Witcher, they have Geralt, story surrounds him, his adventure, his travels, all throughout the series, and the player feels like you're to watch to experience how HE felt. In the dragon age series, the protagonist changes, because the world is ever changing, you're there to be part of it, to adapt how the world will change due to your presence. In these dragon age games, it's about the time period, the Dragon Age, you are forced to accept that your world change, that your character don't carry over, start fresh and you as the player have to accept that, the world is there, the people that you cared for are there but you, your past character is not. So you have to move on in the same world that you fought for but they forget about you, atleast your accomplishments are carried over.
Why are all of you telling me stuff I already know? And the Witcher 3 is an rpg, but maybe not in the literal sense that you are trying to explain. In any case, Ive played both DA and pretty much hated them. I can go into more details, but seeing how you seem to really love DA I dont think my point will get across.
I'm in desperate need of a fantasy rpg for the ps4/xbox one. This is my most anticipated game for this year. I can't wait to dive into this world as the Inquisitor!
So you would want them to go the boring route and get rid of the player's option to choose how we want our character to act? Might as well play an RPG like Skyrim where you have no personality or dialogue... Btw, Mass Effect 3 has the option to do just that when you start a new game...but I don't see why anyone would choose it.
TitanGT66 You can have choice without a blatant "this is the GOOD choice!" and "this is the EVIL choice!" that go so far as to turn your face demonic and fill a good/evil bar. Games need to stop labeling things as +10 good/evil and instead just have the choices and their consequences.
I have to agree; this game looks gorgeous. The art style gives me the feeling like I'm looking at an exquisitely well done, fantasy, oil painting, which is in live action. The colors are vibrant, the scenery is.....it makes me want to go to a forest and just run around with a tree branch, pretending it's a staff. With as beautifully as the visuals are coming along; I can only hope it has a story that compliments, what I think is a stunning work of visual art.
Theory: if you try to negociate peacefully with the mage there, there is a chance that no boss fight will take place, an alternate quest will be given, and said mage will use a spell to stop the demons so that no one will need to risk themselves, like Leliana did...and speaking of her, it's possible that her dialogue while killing the man, if she even brings herself to, will vary depending on past games' choices.
Fingers crossed, the play-tester chose a hostile choice, I can only hope there's a more peaceful and successive choice, none of that "You don't have to do this, we can still work things ou-oh looks like you're gonna do it anyway nvm lol" crap, my heart couldn't take it if I lose someone with no way to avoid it :/
If the snowball engine was used for this game I believe it wouldn't work. Snowball engine is probably one of the best engines out there, but it doesn't have the feel of destruction or anything. Small bits like scratches on cars, rocks, ground is cool, and I wish frostbite did that, but At least we get great visual performances and destruction.
this is what i like to see, lots of lush green colours. like Far cry 3 green. Vanilla skyrim looked horrible, everything was grey. thank god for mods though, flora overhaul, lush trees/grass and real vision and you're golden. This looks amaizing :D can definetly get lost here
This is looking great! I was worried that the games was becoming too action oriented, now after seeing this I can say that the combat looks fantastic. Great times are coming. I'll finally bring myself to finish Dragon Age 2 (I stopped at the beginning of the 3rd act, about 30 hours in - I'm pumped after this trailer).
"The mages and templars have completely broken away from the Chantry..." Now THAT'S interesting. I'm guessing the Templars have gone the route of "all mages must die" while the Chantry still believes that they have their uses. They were heading that way in Origins, sort of solidified it in DA:II, so I'm not surprised if that's what's going on here.
@MyLostTemple Yes, because this isn't dragon age 2. It's a new game with a new engine with qunari as a playable race. And it definitely seems as if bioware is putting in a lot more effort.
this game will combine the best of both worlds ! the fucking amazing customization and hopefuly the great and amazing story/dialogue and the tactics from DA:O plus the nice fast paced combat from DA2 when you're not paused plus amazing graphics and much more mobility and open worldness ! looks fucking marvelous
October is going to be a rough time for my bank balance. Shadow of Mordor, Assassin's Creed Unity and of course, this! It's going to be open-world heaven
Still 4 months to go, this wait is torturous.
Now the game and all the dlc is free hahahah
Watching this 10 years later and its kinda funny how they were sneaky with the Redcliffe castle section. "The breach is growing" as if it was going to be the main threat throughout the entire game (and the fact that the breach in question was in the future, lol). Clever.
Dudes! According to the producer Cameron Lee, this game will have 40 possible endings!
Please don't make the story awful this time..
Bloodmagic, bloodmagic, abominations, bloodmagic. DAII shat so hard over the lore of this universe.. it was just amazing.. I don't think i've been as angry playing a game before or since.. Still can't believe i managed to finish it..
It's certainly a step up from DA II, but I don't expect it to live up to Origins.
i miss the grey wardens
MMA bas rutten DA:O = One of the greatest RPG ever. DA2 = Just bad...
I agree. DAII was addicting and fun. Sure the tiny amount of environments ruined what could have been an amazing game, but overall not anywhere near bad. DA Inquisition looks way better than the first two. lol
Andarus Nope. DA2 was average, it was not 'bad'. If you think it was then you most definitely have NOT played a bad game before.
theonlylampshade I only compare RPGs to other RPGs and compared to Origins its the fucking worst Game I have ever played.
Wow, this looks fantastic. That dragon fight is everything a dragon fight should be. Holy hell.
I've had to put my headphones in which I rarely have to do with any video headphones make it better though.
Headphones help, true. But I have 2 kittens that like to watch RUclips & they just destroy the chord.
I watched porn after and nearly shat myself at the volume! Had to turn it down fast or the neighbours would hear. lol.
This, or the witcher 3. Or both. Yeah, I'll go with both.
Well lucky for all of us RPG fans the Witcher 3 was delayed so they can better the game. It will give us time to play and beat Inquisition again and again.
I know right! I am so getting both of these day 1, and I haven't said that in a while :)
I just can't get into the Witcher despite trying 3 different times lol. I want to like it but the combat is so tedious and repetitive.
Finally a perfectly logical fucking gamer. I like this guy...
gsimon123 Me or CoolCat up der ^^^
Ugh I could stare at this game for hours, it's so fucking GORGEOUS!
Props to the artists and designers for making a beautiful game.
Turn up the damn volume for this videos!
This looks beautiful. Deserving of the term next gen.
Major improvement from DA2 location actually varied and they keep the fast pace combat. Looking forward to this. But were they showing it off the Xbox One or 360?
Xbox One.
Techno Shogun guess I should of seen that one coming.
If this was on a Xbox 360 the ham would br playing at 1 fps
jakisz I see what you did there.
PC, mostly everything at E3 is PC. Especially since this is the Frostbite engine.
Amazing detail @ 2:19. Notice how the frost spreads all over the rock? Simply stunning.
Some of you guys have already given up on Bioware just after one not even a bad game. Just give them a chance when the game came out and then judge for yourself . ***** Not one for me. Have enjoyed all of the ones I have tried and played, even if I am not great at those without Pause functionality like MMO's.
Eldon Whisler
Same here man.

I didn't really much into the online stuff, to me it's just a really big waste of time even if it's a really good game. And tell the main reason that makes you drop Bioware like that, do share.
UncleJoeofAmerica The reason I tried and enjoyed SWTOR was the ability to play solo, and generally enjoy the storylines as I wished. Normally, I choose not to play MMO's either.
Looks amazing, glad they have gone back to some of the deeper gameplay elements of the original.
I'm thrilled about finally being able to play a Qunari, though I'm curious about the story behind their women being allowed to fight- maybe Sten (as Arishok) had something to do with that? :O Or maybe they're Ferelden-born Qunaris. Hmmm....
In Dragon Age Inquisition, the qunari (inquisition) is born outside the Qun and so he or she can do things which aren't allowed in the Qun.
:) Thought so. Sweet.
KABren Sten is a rank so if your'e talking about the Qunari sten off DAO
then yes it would be cool
quazzaa Boblob 'affectionately' known as
"Sten", of course. XD
Apparantly, if you play Qunari, you are born outside of the Qun. So all you share with the core followers of the Qun is the race, but I'm sure people of every race in the game will harass you for being a Qunari(race), even though you're not Qunari(religion).
0:20 I love that strut, 10/10 best strut of E3.
Dragon age inquisition, witcher 3, shadows of mordor, its gonna be an epic 2014-2015.
A mass effect game + frost bite 3 is gonna be absolutely gorgeous.
Anybody else find the audio very low?
nah , mine is good
yes, full blast and it's still quiet
yes

They've already failed my friend, just look at what they've already told us about this... game.

WARNING!
Random, biased hater detected. Independent-minded people should keep their distance at all costs.
I Actually like the 3 games you listed.
aeoncz lel because i am not sjw biodrone I can not think independently? Maybe you're the one who's thought it coloured
Well said.
wow this looks great. This is the dragon age game we've been waiting for.
WITCHER IS COMING !!!
In February of next year, lulz
CrazyIvan1988 First I didn't understand your comment but then... haha, sorry mate :D

that game was afwul the fuck are you even saying
Doubtful, I don't see a skill bar but I could be wrong.
It's console, you can see the LT (left trigger) button show up a few times.
Vaas Montenegro *ACTION* and *ATMOSPHERE* wise.
This looks really promising. I hope they deliver.
Troll logic: Oh look a game with hype, time to hate on it and call it shit and mention watch dogs
Sounds like hipsters to me lol
Lee Coleson thats seems to be the in thing. if anything nowadays gets a lot of hype than people just hate on it 4 no reason
Watch Dogs was better than GTA 5.
We need this now...EPIC VIDEO!!!!!
Wait... the Inquisitor in this demo was a Qunary female? And all this time I thought it was a slender male Qunary character.
Glad it's not, otherwise slender male qunaris would walk very gay.
0:39
-.-
Sagramorbald i thought there are a gay male character. bcause of that i would like to jump to fable legend but still dragon age i still attracted that fable
Sagramorbald How does one walk gay? :')
Like the person walk in the video!
And no, it's not gay, it's more like a drag queen. Gay men walk like any men, it was not an homofobic remark.
Wow a female Kossith! It was a brilliant decision to include their race in the game as playable!
Battle system reminds me of Dragons Dogma
Maybe, but I doubt you'll be able to jump on them.
Nah it doesn't, it still feels awkward and clunky like the old DA games. Wish it actually did though.
San Dini's, have you even layer the game!? If not then how could you know if it feels clunky.
Techno Shogun From what's shown in the footage obviously...
I think I almost cried when thqt arrow shot Leliana :( I LOVE HER
A playable, Qunari, female mage.
AT LAST!!!
Ohhh man, that looks gorgeous but I bet it'll look even better in HD.
Yeah rewatched it in all its HD glory, holy $*#!
I like if some friends/followers die but i hope we have the chance to save them like in ME3. I don't want to lose Leliana.
***** yes but we saved Miranda and samara and others by the choices.
***** emm you´r forgetting mordyn
***** Yeah, too bad it won't be on Steam, huh?
***** Yeah but at the cost of being the biggest dick to the krogan and Wrex.
Nahuel Atala Mordin could live, but at the very heavy expense of losing a TON of war assets...
I think it's pretty cool that they have different kinds of mounts and not just horses.
People are actually looking forward to play this after the snafu turd called Dragon Age 2?
It wasn't a bad game, it just wasn't nearly as good as DA:O. It had better combat, but it lacked the Dragon Age charm.
Yes because just because a game was average or bad doesn't mean that the developers can't improve it or make a good sequel.
Techno Shogun Better combat? You mean spammy combat, less customization of weapons and armor for companions plus overall bad story, graphics, how world was laid out? Of course it was horrible game.

There's always room for both, Oct 7 for DAI, Feb for witcher 3, its kinda nice how they're not releasing in the same season.

Guys! the better the quality, the longer it takes to upload. If you want it in 720p, wait another 20 minutes.
Yo those horses are fucking truck sized
What the hell do they feed them
I'm in desperate need of a fantasy rpg for the ps4/xbox one. This is my most anticipated game for this year. I can't wait to dive into this world as the Inquisitor!
I keep throwing my wallet at the screen but nothing happens. :(
I can't wait to get my hands on this!
Ps2 graphics
....trolling
What the hell are you smoking man?
That troll rivaled my own
Try 9/11 jokes next time
Yes!! The beautiful voice of Leliana is in this one! I so want this game when it comes out
God I wish games would stop doing the chat wheel with labeled "good" and "bad" choices. PLEASE move away from the Mass Effect style 'good' vs 'evil'!

That's the BIOWARE way of doing games, which I love.
Why didn't you just turn off the labeled dialogue wheel in the options menu?
By the Maker.
I am actually seeing a female Quinari.
Quickly: Summon Brother Genetivi to write a short Codex article on this!
one word, mundane
Holy shit! think i am going to to love these gameplay mechanics.
The movement of the characters feels too slow & clunky.
alpha build
Still too much like final fantasy.
I want this game SOO bad now. It looks like the best of DA2 and Origins combined. So psyched.
Looks unbelievable can not wait
Honestly guys if this doesn't convince you there is hope for this game I don't know what will.
I have to agree; this game looks gorgeous. The art style gives me the feeling like I'm looking at an exquisitely well done, fantasy, oil painting, which is in live action. I dont know why but while watching the whole video I was imagining dragons dogma 2 with these graphics and atmosphere. oh god...
This years E3 predicts that I'm gonna be broke pretty soon.
OMG that Dragon fight!!
They had better be more of a challenge then the squishy Skyrim Dragons.
I'm loving the magical homing missiles !
So anxious for this game!

Frostbite looks amazing when it's not gray and brown!
October to December are the best months!!
strategy, single player mmo with one of the most interesting plot in history of RPGs,
cant wait any more !!!
I miss the Grey Wardens wish all games stuck to that
I just want to know what happened to Leliana... If she dies I wonder how my warden will feel...
Visually, this looks epic. Hope the story is just as good.
Looks really stunning, really preferred the mage basic attacks and the UI at Pax Prime though, but besides that really exited.
"The mages and templars have completely broken away from the Chantry..."
Now THAT'S interesting.
And it definitely seems as if bioware is putting in a lot more effort.
right now i am playing Dragon age lats play series again to prep myself and anybody else for this game
Oh...my...goodness.....this game...looks...incredible
Some of those textures are super munted
Between this in October and Witcher 3 in February, it doesn't look like I'll have much of a life anymore...
I was fine with them doing a regular old sequel very similar to the first or second one....but I'M SO GLAD THEY STEPPED IT UP EVEN MORE!!! BOOYAH!!!
The environments are so pretty :DD
While waiting this game, lets remember how great Dragon age 2 was!
Wow, this comes out on my birthday!
Looks phenomenal well done, Day one looking like my GOTY.
good god this game looks incredible
This is a beautiful game! Plus it's only an alpha build! Can't wait for the finished product!
Already decided to play a Qunari Rogue.
Dragon Age Inquisition? That was unexpected.
Nobody does!
comes out a day after my birthday. ordered the deluxe edition. Very excited
I don't know. After DA2, I think I'll wait on this until it's been released and thoroughly reviewed before I decide on buying or not.
this game will combine the best of both worlds ! the fucking amazing customization and hopefuly the great and amazing story/dialogue and the tactics from DA:O plus the nice fast paced combat from DA2 when you're not paused plus amazing graphics and much more mobility and open worldness ! looks fucking marvelous
Wow.
im definitely getting this game as well as The Witcher 3.
Awesome stuff, this years E3 has alot of really interesting games!!!
3:42 A quick travel option and I get to ride Wyverns? Sweet!
Hopefully, they add new game+ in DAI, this seems like a game i'd like to replay.
