    Ok, it's me again, the old guy (56). Skiing for 40 years but yet to huck a 3. Let's try again in March in Lake Louise/Banff. This is an excellent set of videos, thank you Chelsea!

      Agreed old guy! Almost old guy (47) going to learn them next year. Knocked out my front teeth at 13 trying a 3 on the wrong jump and landing on my back…now have a post for reminder. Going to master 360’s before 50, thanks Chelsea!

    Nice! Im so stoked as I landed (a lil backseated) my first 360 last week. Im a skier from Chile and my goal for this season was to land the 360, i already had my 180 dialed in but the 360 was a mental barrier. Season is ending so i told a couple friends my not acocmplished goal, so they hyped me to go for a park sesh to try it and i was able to land it.
    Biggest mistake before was not sessioning a jump for multiple tries and just trying to land one off side hits or other features while skiing. After this I landed like 3 or 4 more. Ups: I landed a 360 - Downs: season is almost over here in SA so i need to really dial it in the next couple of weeks so its locked for next season as i will not be able to travel to europe or NA for the chilean summer

    Congrats Chelsea! I'm 52 still trying to land the 180, very inspired by your story and persistence! I feel the same way, the 360 is the pinnacle of my Freestyle skiing dreams, flips don't really interested me, but then, who knows?!

      I agree with @stompittutorials you can definitely get that 3, and maybe even more… I also NEVER wanted to flip and by the next season I was doing (and loving) it. Sometimes we surprise ourselves

    Soooo relatable !!!
    That's similar to my progress journey to reach the 360 with stompit.
    That last line of the video with the switch 180 in the middle is such a treat. I've watched it a dozen of times!!

    I've been boarding for over 25 years and recently moved over to skiing. I'm 47 and jumping on skis is just weird and uncomfortable compared to jumping and hitting features on a snowboard. Having both feet attached to one board is easier than two legs with skis moving independently and seemingly wandering while in the air. I hope to make some progress soon because I miss hitting jumps and I feel I'm done with snowboarding for life now, going back and forth is not easy for me anymore.

      Thats good to hear that snowboarding might be the easier of the two. I wanted to try it for the first time at the end of this season but thats on hold now. Still definitely want to give it a go next season. It looks mad fun! But my first love will always be skiing

      Jumping's probably harder to master on skis but keep at it bro you'll get it you got Boarder skills!

    When I was a kid, my biggest fear was getting hurt. We didn't wear helmets in the 80's. Find some powder, build a jump and just keep trying.

    So i taught myself to do 360s when I was 14 ish. But i had a crash (not jumping related but i got hurt) when i was 17 and haven't been able to do a 180 since. I know it's all mental. I still send the 3M jumps and land them fine but i cant seem to spinn. Any tips for over coming that?

    • @sendingitfromthecity
      @sendingitfromthecity 7 месяцев назад +4

      I’d start superrrrr small. Just do a 180 while standing still on your skis on a flat slope, then while skiing slowly, then off a tiny jump or even off the takeoff for a tube of rail, and work up from there. Making the progression so small that it doesn’t give your brain the option to freak out is a technique I use to trick my brain into staying calm so I can actually focus on the thing I’m trying to do, not all the irrational fear. Good luck!! I’m sure you’ll surprise yourself and be able to do it

      Do like Chelsea did and build it up slowly from 180s in your boots and many small steps from there.

      I watched a couple of attempts. Train 360s in your boots standing still until you can spin a 450°. Then ski at 5km/h and do 180s until you can do 270s on the flat. Good luck.

    Those videos are really good!
    Still need to get the feeling for jumping first - besides skiing and snowboarding since 25 years.
    On the first scene, just remember being in the park in Montafon with my snowboard. A guy with skis lift his arm to give the "I'm next"-sign and a bigfooter bombed past him onto the kicker. He crashed. No one got injured. Everybody was basically like "what an idi*t!" The skier went and did a nice double cork 10 - that was in 2012 or 13. Considering when double corks came, he was pretty damn good, but no clue who it was...

      Oh man, yeah I have a fear of getting smashed into. Nothing like getting hurt thanks to someone else's carelessness. That why I always check back at least once even after I drop.

    Why the f is this video in the beginner tutorials playlist xD

    • @StompItTutorials
      @StompItTutorials  7 месяцев назад

      Because 360 is a beginner trick. Sure you want to learn to jump, 180 and then 360. Once you learned 360 your still a beginner freestyle skier in my opinion.
